Walked by this place today on my way home. It was kind of lunch time, so I stopped in and ended up getting a lox sandwich. They didn’t have a large selection of bagels so I got a sandwich on a regular bagel with cream cheese, onions, cucumbers, and tomatoes with a side salad. Their lox is ridiculously salty. Not intolerably salty but it got to be kind of too much. I couldn’t eat more than half and ended up trashing it because when I took off the top half of the bagel the cuts of lox underneath didn’t look very appetizing. Side salad was a good size with bell peppers and mushrooms. I asked for Thousand Island dressing on the side, but their dressing had a color similar to imitation nacho cheese so I didn’t use it. Paid $ 12.31 for my sandwich which is almost double the price I’m used to paying. Considering I only got down half of it and threw out the rest, I wouldn’t recommend getting a lox sandwich here especially for that price.

Stumbled upon this place on accident while trying to find the LIberty Bell. I was wanting my first Philly Cheese Steak … I wasn’t disappointed. The owners were very kind, and it was some of the best food we had while in Philadelphia.

Yep — great sandwiches, great selection. .. but I go there for a quick, inexpensive and delicious breakfast! Friendly and personable staff and honestly one of the best little delis in CC!

Yummy!!! The hot corned beef sandwiches here are so delish. Authentic Jewish deli? Nah, it’s run by Asians. But it’s good nonetheless.

I’ll have to go back to get a better feel of this place, but as of right now, it A-OK in my book. Went there for the first time yesterday, it’s right next to my regular deli(Old Nelson’s) that I use for lunch on workdays. The service was really nice and friendly. I got a bagel with lox with just a bit of cream cheese and lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. I chose the garden salad as a side with dressing on the side. The bagel was LOADED with lox. It was awesome. Usually when I order bagel with lox or bagel with smoked salmon(like at Au Bön Pain) it comes with just a scanty 2 pieces. This one was not. I couldn’t even finish it all, I ended up taking off the top half of the bagel and just eating the bottom half of the bagel + the inside. I was also kind of impressed with the garden salad. It was a good, hefty amount and filled with tomatoes, green peppers, etc. The only thing was that they forgot to put the dressing at all. And I didn’t check before I left. opps. Oh well, saves me a few calories. It wasn’t bad at all having to eat vegetables without the added fat. Good place to grab a quick lunch. I haven’t been to many Jewish delis so I can’t really say if this one is a good or bad one, but it’s a good general deli to go to if you’re in the area.

Ok… besides the fact that they have Shabbos-Goy, Asians to work on Fridays, it’s an okay Jewish deli… It’s definitely not at the same level of NYC or LA delis, but it’s good. Definitely a good place to go to get Matzoh Ball soup, it’s nice and comforting even if it costs almost $ 5. The sandwiches are amazing and is one of the few delis in Center City that carries turkey pastrami! Great grilled cheese on Rye, too.

Loved the beef brisket and the friendly service! The counter women recognized me upon my first return. They have some of the best home made corned beef hash that I’ve had in some time. I will never eat the canned version at restaurants again! Wonderful!

Kibitz is home to the best whitefish and nova that I have found thus far in the city. I have never eaten their sandwiches, but from the look of them they are the perfect alternative if you don’t feel like traveling to a certain 4th street locale and waiting 20 minutes to be seated. Like most jewish delis, their fish is better on some days than it is on others. Also, their bagels are delicious. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. They taste like they might be shipped in from NYC.

Breakfast is okay – you can get the same elsewhere for less money. The sandwiches are gargantuan. You can take out 2⁄3 of the meat and have sandwiches again for the next two days. It’s pretty pricey, in my opinion. You can give me a bit less meat and charge me lunch prices, please. Yes, the meat is pretty good quality. The service is to-order but pretty quick. The baked goods are okay, and I simply did not like my knish.(I used to work nearby, so I gave it a few tries.) I love Jewish deli, but I’m not totally in love with Kibitz.

I love this place. The ladies at the counter know my name and my order, their sandwiches are so overstuffed that you could unhinge your jaw eating them, and the weird sports/broadway themed décor is whimisically paradoxical. I go here often, and i am never dissapointed. recently the counter ladies met my boyfriend and always ask me about him when i go in now. If you are looking for a friendly«authentic» deli with the food your mom used to make, this is it, folks!

Fine authentic deli in the Independence Mall area. Overstuffed sandwiches, blintzes, and good borscht soup. Go hungry.
