Got a 100+ year old house that leaks every 10^th time it rains and only when the wind is blowing from North to South? Need to figure out if it’s because your bricks need repointing your windows need re-​caulking or your roof needs repair? Then call John Kline. Especially if you live in West Philly.
This guy knows these houses. I sort’ve thought it was crazy that a problem on the roof of a three story house could be causing a leak on the second floor (and on the opposite side!) but so many of my friends and neighbors recommended him that I thought I should give him a try. IT WORKED! He’s very thorough and very respectful of your budget and every time he has done something big he tells us what we can do to fix the problem currently, what we can do to prevent it from happening again AND what we can do to fix some of the issues ourselves.
By the way, regarding the repointing, re-​caulking or roof repair (and re-coating)…he’s done all of this work for us.
If you call you’ll usually get a call back within 24 hours. I think the longest I’ve ever had to wait was a few days. He’ll come look at the issue and most times has started (and finished) the work that day. You always get a price first and I’ve never in eight years had a surprise cost.
We’ve found it hard to find reliable and honest people while renovating a 100+ year old house. John Kline is definitely the exception.
