Lang’s Fruit & Produce

The best fruit. Seriously a step up from any other fruit place in the city. Its weird to explain, but taste it and you’ll agree.

Maybe it’s a testament to how long I’ve lived in South Philly, but this place makes me happy because it smells clean and fresh. And it has ginger, sweet basil and flat leaf parsley, which are not usually found in the corner markets around here.

Lang’s is a small mom and pop store that sells really good produce. I love it there because everything is fresh, clean, homey, and they don’t rob you at the register :) The two owners are so cute and friendly, making the place extremely inviting.

I frequent this place for all my fruit and produce needs. The shop owners are nice and hands on and you’ll frequently see them working around the shop cleaning, sweeping, picking twigs off of produce. They are always working and are never sitting behind the register looking dull and bored, I respect them greatly for their work and effort. Stores like these are what make the community better, providing the freshest food for the lowest prices.
This store is great and I would highly recommend everyone go and try, even just to look. Compared to commercial groceries, the prices here are better, especially because the food you’re getting is so much fresher. If you need anything, check here first before Acme/​Shoprite, etc.
Their products vary with season, which is good, because then you know your food isn’t traveling 100 miles in the back of a truck before they reach your table. It is true that sometimes I want something and they might not have it, but I would rather not have something fresh then something that’ll be rotten by the time I get home.
Oh, and I can’t forget their fruit platters! Try one, they are so good. If you don’t see one you like, ask them and they’ll gladly make you one to order. These business owners really want to cater to their customers and want to make them happy. Give them your business and I assure you you’ll be happy.

I hit up Lang’s at least once a week. They carry a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, in addition to some packaged food and novelty items. All is very reasonably priced, too. The service is always very friendly and helpful.

Lang’s has a nice selection of fresh fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The two owners are real nice. It is a great place to have right around the corner.
