Tried to buy croissants for breakfast with coffee, all of them were burned. Awfully tasted muffins. Hard to find such bad tasting products even if you’re looking for that. Wouldn’t recommend it

One of many, many reasons to love Reading Terminal Market. I’ve stopped by Market Bakery a few times and have always had fantastic experiences. The breads are always great. The whole wheat loaf was nice and hearty, and did not go stale/moldy quickly(which sometimes happens with non-store bought bread.) The baguettes are delightful — hard to not eat the whole thing on your way home! Most recently, I stopped and picked up some multigrain bagels. I love multigrain bagels, and these were great! These bagels had a great nutty and oaty flavor, with tons of seeds and oats which made for a phenomenal texture. The service has always been extremely friendly and helpful.

They get their bagels from le Bus bakery, which has been recognized to be one of the best places to get bagels in Philly! Just one bite and you can tell that Market bakery’s bread is made only with the best ingredients. A lot of times I will buy the day old stuff for super cheap, throw it in the freezer, and when I reheat it in my toaster oven — still tastes better than most! PLUS the free coffee with any purchase check in deal is a great way to start off the work day

Blueberry muffin was amazing and right out of the oven. One of many delicacies to be found at reading market.

You had me at bacon & cheddar biscuits. But then you found a way to integrate my love of lunch time style sandwiches… FORBREAKFAST. You saucy little strumpet. Though the biscuit was delicious, the breakfast club on a multigrain toasted bagel with a layer of plain cream cheese was phenomenal. And I don’t like turkey, but it was good enough that it didn’t even matter. The bacon was so mouthwatering and perfectly crisp. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and was firm enough to hold its own in the sandwich. This was the first time I ever had cream cheese used as a sandwich condiment, and have officially been converted. Drop what you’re doing and get the breakfast club asap!

I really liked that you can order half loaves of bread! Got half sesame and half italian, both delicious!

I have just moved back to the area from living in New York City for the last four years. NYC is the king of fresh bagels so that was the start of my addiction. I have searched and searched for a place that served fresh bagels that could be compared to the ones in NY and I have found it! The bagels here are AMAZING! I had the apple walnut and I think Cherry bagel. It was really good!!! So good that I had to allow all of my co workers to try it! The cream cheese is great! The service even better. At 8am seeing someone who takes your order with a smile is rare!!! Try it!

I will start by saying that this booth/stall at Reading Terminal Market is classy. Looks beautiful sitting between less polished stalls. I assumed due to this that the food would be excellent. I got two croissants — both tasted of whatever scent was in the Reading Terminal(and it wasn’t bread) and the«filling»(chocolate and almond) was simply non-existant. I would not go back, if I“m going to burn calories on a croissant, I want to taste the good stuff!

I am not a huge fan of this bakery. Bagels are not chewy but soft and crumbly, I have tried at least 3 varieties and they all have the same crumbly texture toasted or not. Breads are just okay, cheaper than metropolitan but not quite worth it. Baked goods and breakfast sandwiches look good and reasonably priced. Staff is super helpful and accommodating. This bakery accepts credit!

As I sit here at home going though my bookmarks on Unilocal and writing reviews, I’ll admit, I’ll be damned if I remember what kind of bagel I got here(it was a month and a half ago, ok) but the cheddar horseradish cream cheese that was on it was absolutely friggin DIVINE, and that is what I remember ;) Definitely recommended if you’re wandering around Reading Terminal Market in the morning before non-breakfast time foods are acceptable.

This is a Reading Terminal regular go-to spot for bagels and bread. The breakfast sandwiches aren’t bad, and they have excellent rolls, muffins, cookies, and croissants. On the downside, the prices are a tad bit high — no real value here — and on rare occasion, later in the day, the bagels may have already gone stale. Between this and Metropolitan — Reading Terminal is an excellent destination for fresh basked goods. Bottom Line: Come here for your daily bread. The extra few cents are worth the increase in quality.
