Modells Sporting Goods

Sadly, this Modells is going out of business. The store is pretty messy now, but they have racks of clothes for $ 5, $ 10, $ 15, and $ 20, and shelves of shoes that are an additional 30% off the lowest marked price. I picked up 2 team tshirts for a total of $ 15 today. I’m not sure exactly when the store is closing for good, but it’s already half empty, so I would recommend going soon.

I think if you been to one modells you been to all. This one was nothing special but they do carry a big selection of sports gear which was great since I was here to purchase a gift for a huge Eagles fan. Things were organized so it was easy to find what I needed.

The Modells in (the hellhole that is) The Gallery at Market East seems to have undergone a complete quality control transformation in the last five years with regards to staff and merchandise. When you walk into the store, it’s almost like you are walking out of The Gallery.
This Modells stocks a pretty wide array of equipment and clothing for various sports and activities. They also have a large athletic shoe section, and all manners of Philadelphia sports team gear. The store is clean and easy to navigate. The merchandise is neatly displayed and generally well-​organized. The employees are friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, and their return policy is very fair.
I only have two real qualms with this store: 1) It can be difficult to find smaller women’s sizes in stock, and 2) the dressing rooms suck. Fortunately, the convenient location and easy returns make the dressing room thing a non-​issue. Like all Modells I have experienced so far, they seem to focus more towards low– to mid-​range brands. Since this range fulfills 90% of my athletic needs, this Modells is usually my first stop for gear.

This Modell’s is cool and the selection of items is excellent. Also the customer service rep/​cashier were very helpful!

For a Modell’s in a mall (excuse me, I’m from Jersey where Modell’s occupies its own space in a strip mall or standing alone and strong), this place has a decent selection of things. My friend needed some things for a ski trip and he got everything he needed so that was good. Labeling could be done better throughout the store. And not gonna lie, but the store seems so depressing. Must be the lighting or something?
My overall attitude: meh.
