Painting with a Twist

The venue is very small but the activity was great. Enjoyed the painting and the price very responsible. Parking is horrible, I had to pay 20.00 to park in lot due to no available parking on the streets.

I had a great time here. Olan was a great teacher, and even a non-​artist like myself was able to leave with a painting that wasn’t a hot mess. They have a pretty cool policy where if someone couldn’t make it at the last minute after the window for cancellation has closed, you can take their blank canvas with you to give to the person and he/​she can come to a make-​up class for free. I highly recommend it for the locals. It’s a great place to go for a relaxing afternoon of drinking and painting.

Who knew that everyone is such a good painter?! Fun for parties, girls night out, coupled classes. You won’t be disappointed!

I had sooooo much fun with my bf for her 31^st birthday. Everyone there was happy and open to having fun. I will go again and hoping to have more fun.

This was a less minute activity and I was glad that I went. A friend had reservations and couldn’t make it, so she asked me to use it… I invited a guy I was seeing and we embarked on the adventure. This guy was such a skeptic, but I said– let’s JUST DO IT! Turns out — it was AWESOME! We had no prior artistic skills that we were brining to the table — I open my mind and just decided to go with the FLOW! The instructor was patient, encouraging and helped us feel good — although our work was AWFUL! Our alcoholic beverages also helped soften how bad we actually were. Luckily all the other participants in the class were pretty cool and had good energy too. I was so pumped up afterwards — I went on Groupon and Living Social and purchased coupons for all my friends! Can’t wait to attend another class.

Love this place. Not close but worth the drive. Go early because parking is a pain. The only downfall it’s crowded because its a small studio… But great paintings great happy atmosphere and Cassie j… AWESOME!

My girlfriend & I had so much fun taking this class! It was a spur of the moment date/​birthday gift. It’s great that it’s BYOB but the drunk women were totally getting out of hand that we couldn’t wait to get out of there because we had a headache. Besides that, Omar and Miguel were great and extremely encouraging and I can’t wait to go back!

If you are looking for a fun, creative activity to do with your friends, coworkers or significant other, I would highly recommend Painting with a Twist. No painting experience is necessary, you will painting the preselected painting along with instructor. If you need help there are other staff members present to assist you.
This particular location had a lively, party atmosphere with tunes that made you want to dance while painting and drinking. The staff was friendly and helpful. I do recommend arriving early because street parking is hard to find and they start on time (as advertised). In addition, don’t forget your wine and spirits because it is BYOB.

My family and I had our first painting with a twist experience. One word, «FUN»! We had such a good time and the instructor was very good. This was our first experience at one of these events and it definetly won’t be our last! The only complaint I have is that it was help at Twisted Tail on South Street. I went directly after work so I was starving. Unfortunelty, their food selection was too eccentric for my taste buds. I ended up eating sweet potatoe fries for dinner because everything else was not appetizing to me. The atmosphere was cool though. Needless to say, I would definetly do painting with a twist again but if they hold it at Twisted Tail, I will make sure to eat something before I go.

I really enjoyed the painting class and now understand what all the hype is about. I was very skeptical at first as to how this was all going to happen. Who was going to show me how to paint this complicated looking piece of art? Have they met me?! I was pleasantly surprised and can’t wait to go back for the next girls night out.
The classroom is a long narrow room with easels and paint brushes on top of each other, almost bumping elbows to the person next to us. There wasn’t a lot of room to store our coats/​handbags other then setting it behind us on the floor.
The instructors (one at the front of the room doing a step by step instruction with his own easel and another walking around offering assistance where needed) were upbeat, nice and engaging. They moved at a pace that kept the class in sync and very easy to follow. I liked the pop music playing in the background so it didn’t feel like art 101. I was able to chat with my girlfriend and about to pay attention at the same time while sipping on my wine and nibbling on snacks.
The two hours went by quick and at the end we have some group photos and a little piece of art work, surprisingly wall worthy to remember my night out!
I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a fun group activity!

I don’t have a creative bone in my body, and I was skeptical that our group of ten would actually produce decent paintings, but boy was I wrong!
Olan was a great teacher — funny, encouraging, and always willing to assist. All of our paintings turned out pretty darn good, and at the end of the session he took like 9 pictures of us with each of our cameras. He was such a good sport!
Overall this was a great day. We brought stuff for mimosas and we had plenty of snack foods, and it was great to just hang out, paint, eat, and drink.
There is a parking lot (15 bucks) right next door to this place, so it was super easy to get to. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a great group activity.
PS they also have a wine opener mounted to their front desk, and it is awesome and powerful.

I went here for my bachelorette party and we all had a great time! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about our instructor, Olan. He was amazing!

Great time and fantastic instructors! My husband and I switched things up for our weekly Date Night and I surprised him with a trip here. Anthony and Aldan were very friendly and encouraging to all the painters, even me who decided to paint something completely different from the piece he was giving the lesson on! Snacks and drinks are welcome but I only bought wine which I was ok with after watching some folks focusing more in eating and drinking versus painting. We will definitely be going back!

I had a wonderful time ! I celebrated my 25^th birthday here with 4 girlfiends. It was everyone’s first time painting with a twist and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very light and cheerful.
My friends brought me a cake and it was another customer’s birthday as well (they had a cookie cake) and the staff had everyone sing to us which was very sweet.
We’ll definitely be back.

Such a fun afternoon to spend with the family… I have zero artistic skill and was able to paint a beautiful picture (Yellow Peonies) thanks to the instruction and help from the ladies of Painting with a Twist. You are given very detailed instruction as well as hands on help (if you need it). I suggest that everyone gives this a try. It is such a relaxed, fun and friendly environment… (no judgement to those of us who aren’t very good at painting :)!!!
Make sure you bring snacks, water, wine, etc… you have plenty of time to grab a snack or a glass of wine while you wait for paint to dry to move on to the next part of your painting!
Also there is a parking lot right next door (we paid $ 15.00 to park) if you don’t have any luck finding street parking.

Fun for a date and very interesting ! Def something different to do vs. hitting up a bar or restaurant. I also like how its BYOB so I can save some $$$
I felt like the instructor rushed though the class a bit which I didn’t really like. All in all, I recommend this for a date, girls night out or just to paint by yourself. A lot of fun !

I actually did Painting with a Twist two nights in a row this past weekend and had a blast! The second night was at this particular location and we were doing the Starry Night Philly picture. This picture was a little more involved than I originally expected, but the instructor went really slow and walked us all through it step-​by-​step. They also had another employee walking around to give out extra paint and help those who needed it. My piece came out vastly different from what it was supposed to look like, but I was still pretty impressed. Seeing everyone’s variations from the original was really cool.
As other reviews have mentioned, PWAT is BYOB and will supply the cups. If you want ice, make sure that you bring it with you!
I’ll definitely be doing this again!

I have visited this (Center City) and the Jenkintown location of Painting with a Twist and had a great experience with both. Firstly, the concept is just phenomenal. There’s an instructor to take you step-​by-​step through creating a work of art you will be proud to hang in your home AND you get to bring wine and snacks to enjoy through the process! You can’t go wrong! The staff at both locations were friendly, knowledgable, and entertaining. Absolutely no one who has accompanied me to PWAT considers themselves a skilled artist by any means, but by the end of the night we all felt like masters thanks to the guidance and encouragement of the staff. Friends and family I have painted with agree that painting at PWAT is a ton of fun and all would return to paint again. I am sure I will be filling up my loyalty card in no time!

Finally, one of these places opened up close to home! I loved my visit to PWAT almost as much as I love my new super cool artwork hanging on my wall.
I have been to another PWAT location but much prefer this one, as it is smaller and more personable. For a larger crowd, they have one instructor painting and another walking around helping people out which worked out beautifully.
I also think they have some of the best paintings available. I especially love all of the Philly themed artwork.
For a fun night out I am of the believe that PWAT can’t be beat!
