The Bestest eatery ever. Healthy to boot. I meet my crew there every week for lunch. It’s our coffee clubhouse. The ambiance is eclectic rustic and I Iove the zombie Bathroom. The rotating artwork is available for purchase, which is exactly what I did. The staff is wonderful too. Come eat, enjoy and support your local artists.

Great funky, artsy vibe with a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch items(many vegan). My favorite is the Jackie O(peanut butter, granola, and honey in a wrap) which is still available even though it’s no longer mentioned on the chalkboard menu

I love this place! The ladies who own it work hard to make it sweet and they and their staff are always cool and on point. The coffee is good and the food… Well I’ve eaten there too many times to count and it’s always delish. I love that they cater tastes from meat to vegan. It’s also a hub for local artists to have monthly openings which changes the flavor every month. Definitely stop in.

Amazing sandwiches big enough for two meals. Very cozy inside if you want to stay or just relax over a cup of coffee/tea.

This might be my favorite coffee shop in the city. The food is unbelievable. Anything I have ordered has been fresh, delicious and so enjoyable. The place has a cool edgy vibe and lots of comfy seating and some great seats outside when the weather is nice. Definitely worth checking out especially if you want a some food as well.

Around the corner from my sister and definitely really good coffee. Philadelphia is definitely a coffee town. Cash only but worth it. A community gem.

Seriously, I do not understand what I’d do without this place! While there are about six independently owned coffee shops within a 2 block radius of my apt, I’ve eventually become a committed RH customer thanks to their special service as well as dedication to the community(oh, and their consistently tasty food and java). The owners(Kelsey and Chloe) as well as the other baristas are almost always super friendly and will even recall what u normally order! They’ve a great deal of great and delicious vegetarian/vegan alternatives along with non-veggie and frequently add new seasonal things. Also, they are completely dog friendly and host local artist shows around monthly. Red Hook-you guys are the greatest!

My boyfriend got the scrambles eggs with bacon on a blueberry bagel. But I’m almost positive it was sausage instead of bacon. Actually tasted like chopped hotdog. He wasn’t a fan, neither was I. However, I got the tempeh bacon wrap(I forgot what it was called exactly) it was good. We also split The Elvis which was the PB bacon and banana sandwich. Sounded crazy amazing but it was anything special. We only took two bits. I would definitely add Jelly to it for a sweet component. It was just toooo much PB with bacon banana gooeyness. A nice little café however, nice staff. Great coffees and smoothies as well.

I love coming to this café. It’s a nice place to get work done and eat a quick snack. I first came here after an interview to get some tea. Their selections are great. I opted for the Earl Grey and added some honey to it. Their pastries and sandwiches are really good. They have a lot of cool and funky sandwiches. Also very healthy too! The seating area was different. They different seating cushions and tables. Very cool. They can get very crowded at times but I think the wait and lack of seating is worth it. Would definitely recommend.

Small coffee shop off of 4th. Parking is typically painless. The staff is very friendly and quick. They make a great almond milk latte and have GF bagels and tofutti. They also have a ton of breakfast sandwiches/wraps. The space has a great ambience and is always featuring local artists. It is small and can’t accommodate many people– not so good for groups. But if you’re solo it’s great. I’ve been staying at Penn’s Landing for work, and have come in for a coffee and GF bagel every morning.

Nice quaint coffee shop that can get really really crowded. if you’re planning to sit inside try to not go during peak hours. They can fit at the most 20 people inside plus a few outdoor tables. The drink selection is fairly standard but the food is bit higher end than most coffee shops. Only watch out I have is they do not take credit card. So bring cash or be prepared to use a higher priced ATM inside the store.

I would just like to apologize to the barista working today. I could tell I was inconveniencing her as soon as I walked in, and then proceeded to really be a pain when I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a latte. I’d also like her to know how much she inconvenienced me. Because, the latte didn’t taste quite right and I was worried maybe she misheard me and used soy milk by accident, which I can’t have. But, I took a look at the face she had on and instead poured the whole thing in the gutter when I walked out. Was it soy? Was it not? I’ll never know, because that’s how much I didn’t want to talk to you again. I don’t need ear to ear smiles or lots of friendliness. But just a general LACK of attitude would be nice. This is what I get for not walking the extra 3 blocks to the cleaner, better place close by. — — — — — — — — – Kelsey & Chloe — I am just seeing your reply now. I initially wanted to write to you saying that you’re right; speaking to a manager would have been the best way to have handled this situation, and to thank you for your reply. But, the more I read it, the stronger I stand by my review. Your reply offered no acknowledgment of the unacceptable way I was spoken to while in your café. Instead, you offered the patronizing comment about 150 non-bacon items on your menu. FYI — It’s possible to have a bacon sandwich not dripping in grease. You have many great reviews, so I’m sure you’re doing something right. Writing a snooty reply to a paying customer who left unsatisfied doesn’t seem necessary and doesn’t reflect well on the management of your business.

I love this place. So do all my coworkers. Good funky sandwiches, lots of vegan stuff, amazing potato salad. We often call ahead and come in to pick up. The staff is all really nice and helpful. I haven’t had their coffee as I usually go for lunch, but their iced teas are great as are the smoothies. The BLTA and Vegan curried chicken salad wrap are my fav if you’re looking for a recommendation.

I happen to really, really like this place. GREAT sandwiches — healthy options abound with some really, really unhealthy-sounding ones thrown in for good measure. Always filling, satisfying without weighing you down. This screams quality ingredients. Everyone is really nice here too. The place also has a definite edge to it, but not so much where you feel uncomfortable like another coffee shop further down 4th St. that rhymes with Schmindcore Mouse. I always feel like they think I’m a cop when I walk in there. I’m not a cop.

Flavor was amazing! I am so Excited to have a place that has wonderfully unique sandwiches that offer gluten free bread. This made my day. Thank you! I do wish they still allowed dogs :(.

This place has great coffee, beautiful mugs, great atmosphere, delightful staff, and(most surprisingly for a coffee shop) amazing food! Seriously, come here for lunch. Or better yet, for a tasty brunch with no lines to wait in. Their eggs seem most popular, but my favorite is their Red Hook sandwich. Each sandwich comes with a small bowl of salad which is like a painting of flavor. I come here a lot to work.(It’s near my home). The only reason I don’t come here every time I need to work is I don’t want to get tired of it! It’s cozy but never seems crowded. Also, they put on fun events after hours once a month to serve food and drinks and showcase local artists. A true community oriented business. There’s definitely close-knit regulars, but always room for new faces.

Red Hook is a perfect little place to enjoy various dishes at any time of the day. We went for breakfast and the selection was excellent, the menu innovative and coffee excellent! It’s also the perfect location to enjoy the many other up and coming locations of the neighborhood.

Two words: Coco Chanel. Hot Chocolate with a hefty dollop of Nutella in there. Topped with FRESH whipped cream and chocolate sauce. OMG. This was the perfect, non-caffeine beverage for a chilly morning. Being literally right around the corner from my aunts place in the city we walked here to grab a cup in the morning before jetting off to over activities. This is a beverage that dreams are made of. I literally dream about it off and on since having it. While I’d attempt to make this at home, the next time I am in Philadelphia you can be your last dollar that, cold or not, I’ll be here grabbing a cup.
