Cute place, very knowledgeable staff. We were impressed by their selection of coffees and teas, and the way in which they steep their teas(when ordered to stay) is cute and makes it easy to remove the tea leaves with no muss or fuss.

Very friendly staff. Always a clean, nice place to sit. When visiting, I only order a tall black coffee, which I drink black. Very good. I sit inside or outside when weather is nice, use their Wi-Fi or read. It’s a quiet, relaxing environment.

So happy to have this nearby! As a recent Philly transplant I was wondering how soon I’d be able to find«my coffee shop» and here it is. Great brews, friendly staff, awesome for working or chatting with a friend. Bright atmosphere and nice industrial touches. Hope they continue to have success for many years to come.

Always great to discover a new corner coffee spot close to my neighborhood! Shot Tower boasts a full menu of coffee beverages as well as a small yet decadent selection of baked goods. It was my birthday, and I was headed to a friend’s house further down in South Philly, so I decided to stop by Shot Tower for an iced mocha and a cheesecake brownie. I particularly enjoyed the layout of the shop; a long table in the middle with attached stools as well as a counter lining the windows. Definitely a great place to meet with friends or to get some work done. So many coffeehouses to choose from in the area, but I’m looking forward to my next visit to Shot Tower!

Nice and cool in the summer. Clean bathroom. Great open space with bright natural light and fast internet. Not too crowded. Coffee is excellent. Snacks/juice in the case seem a bit sad at times — the OJ looks like it is bursting out of the container. Then again, who comes to a coffee shop for the OJ? Overall, this is a great place for work and coffee. However, the hours are limited. I wish they were open earlier and later! Credit Cards are taken but there is a $ 5 min.

I’ve got to give Shot Tower five stars because they generally do everything pretty well. Good coffee, good service and a cool vibe. I’ll be honest I wish it was a bit cozier or had better seating to stay and do some work or read. I usually get a cup and head back home.

I am 100% enchanted by this place. Coffee, A+. Tangerine Ginger tea, A++. I am a serious herbal tea drinker and this is one of the best cups i have ever. Had. Beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is fantastic. The décor, something I usually don’t take much note of, is exceptionally beautiful. Could stay here all day!

My wife’s favorite café in the city. With a reason, best coffee I have had in Philly. And they have the coolest chairs!

Shot Tower is wonderful. Adorable space and easy for us non-city dwellers to snag a parking spot nearby. I am a big fan of the long community table. As for the coffee– I had one of the most delicious cappuccinos of all time at Shot Tower. I’m in a bad habit of always grabbing coffee from a chain on the go. You can really taste the difference and quality here. Staff was friendly. You can use a card for anything over $ 5. Wouldn’t change a thing about Shot Tower.

The coffee is pretty good, I like it! It’s even mor appealing because I can bring my dog in while grabbing that hot cup of Joe… but the people who work here REALLY leave a bad taste in my mouth. They are not friendly, the look annoyed, and sometimes continue their conversations while I wait to be helped. I don’t need someone to be over the top nice, but acknowledging that I am standing at the counter would be a start! I am not a coffee snob, I am not a ‘unique’ hipster with skinny jeans and wide rim glasses. All I need is a simple cup of coffee. Nothing fancy, no latte, no ‘order that takes 10 or more words’…and I would hope that a simple ‘hello’ wouldn’t be an imposition??? I live in the area but find The Bean Exchange much more my style. My style being ‘courtesy to people’. And if Peddler right around the corner and close by is open, I will pay the extra money there because these people are friendly. Always wanted to like Shot Tower but over the last year or so it has never grown on me… yesterday the glares from the staff were the last straw…

The ambience is great. Not really a good selection of breakfast food. They specialize in coffee. I don’t drink coffee so ninjas hot chocolate. I didn’t like it: very bitter. Anyhow if you like coffee give it a try. 5 stars for ambience. 2 stars for food. So I have 3 stars.

My roommate and I have this new ritual where we visit a different local coffee shop every Sunday to get caffeinated and inspired to do some good sketching(him) and writing(me). So far, Shot Tower is our favorite spot. I love the openness of the space, the quiet crowd, and the chill music selection. Something about the atmosphere just upped our productivity… or perhaps it was actually the delicious coffee that had me buzzing. Other pluses: outlets everywhere(score), dogs allowed(dawww), people watching from the window(fun), and no extra charge for soy milk(yaaaas). The only minus: those cutesy, steampunk-style lightbulbs they keep on during the day that do absolutely NOTHING to light the space, but must certainly waste a lot of electricity. Save the earth, turn that shit off!

Best latte this side of the Delaware. Creamy delight. I’m spoiled for all others. Baristas are always helpful and knowledgeable.

Not the coziest coffee place ever, but I enjoyed the vibe a lot. I really liked my café au lait and my girlfriend enjoyed her cappuccino. So that’s that. Staff looked like they were going to be annoying, but ended up being pretty nice. Sorry, I judge hipsters — I can’t help it. In a sentence: «The most unpretentious pretentious coffee place I’ve ever been to.» Don’t be fooled by the pretentious jo’s below giving reviews about«pulls» and all that.

I swing through Shot Tower on the way home sometimes and every visit is different. Sometimes the staff is nice, polite, chatty(not obnoxiously), and helpful. Other times, I get eye rolls, sighs, and the sneaking feeling like I’m disrupting their day. Hit or miss. The coffee is usually consistent and good, but there were one or two times where the milk was over-steamed and funky and the iced drink was not topped off. The atmosphere is kind of weird to me. It is open and light and airy feeling, but most of the times I have been, it is entirely devoid of conversation. Everyone is plugged into their device and tapping away, only looking up to give you a dirty look because you made some noise grabbing a napkin. If you have a kid, the looks are even more icy. Bottom line: I stop in for the occasional good cup of coffee, don’t stay, and continue homeward.

Their iced coffee is to die for. When I asked for room for cream I was pleasantly surprised that they only gave me a millimeter of room instead of an inch like some chain shops. They have seating outside on both sides of the corner location and are located on the quietest part of Christian street. Perfect for reading relaxing and people watching. Inside there are bar seats, a table with slide out seats akin to lunch room seating, and a few sets of tables and chairs for dates or friendly gatherings. This is not a flop down on a sofa kind of coffee shop but it is WiFi capable with lots of seating and snacks/sandwiches — I’m adding it to my list of day off hangouts!

I give it a 5 on atmosphere and 4 on product(nothing super special about their coffee) and a 3 for comfort. Very hipster modern but not overwhelmingly hipster. Great service. Philadelphia magazine rated it one of the coziest coffee shops in the city but to be honest it’s not that cozy. Wooden benches and such. Just isn’t cozy.

After having visited Shot Tower Coffee every morning for the past year, I think it’s time for me to update my review on Shot Tower! Their coffee is so good. I usually go with the cold brew, which if you don’t know, is not actually brewed but more like soaked overnight and then filtered and diluted in to a delicious, strong ice-cold coffee. The staff here is great and genuinely nice. There’s outdoor seating and plenty of people watching since it’s on the corner and a fairly busy stop. They also have a table with lots of communal seating and reading material all over, which is great. Special Note: If you’re a regular, you can register and add money to your account so you don’t always have to have money on you! Also, you get a free coffee after purchasing 10. Also, dogs are welcome!
