Retro Moving

I had a great experience with Retro Moving. We had some furniture delivered curbside that was too heavy for us to lift on our own into our house. I called Retro Moving and they were able to come over within the hour after finishing a job not too far away. The crew was great– really nice to work with and efficient. Price was reasonable, even more so considering the last minute nature of my call. I would definitely use them again.

The best moving experience I’ve ever had! The guys were on time, professional and really nice as an added bonus. The price was extremely reasonable.
But, more importantly, they were extremely sensitive to my particular situation (I’m mobility impaired) and took special care to make sure I was OK.
At the destination, once again they proved their professionalism by negotiating my queen-​sized bed up a treacherous staircase.
I would, without any reservations whatsoever, recommend Retro Movers to anyone who asks me! Keep up the good work, guys!

I called Retro movers two days before my move date in Philadelphia to Bucks county. I was happy with them and the crew (family) was excellent. They were on time and very courteous and hard working.
I will use their services again if need arises in future.

I moved this weekend with the help of Retro Moving Co. This company was very professional and accommodating. The gated community I was moving into wouldn’t allow movers in their premises after 6, which I didn’t know. I was about to freak out but the owner of Retro Moving calmed me and said leave everything in the truck… we’ll come back at 7am… and that’s what they did. They completed the job and got it done. I will definitely use this company again.

I was very happy with their service. They were polite, professional, and did a great job assembling a piece of furniture for me.

Retro moving was amazing. I called on a Friday and scheduled a move for Sunday. They were on time, and busted their bums to get it done. Given how hard they worked I would never have guessed I was paying them by the hour. Now, fair warning, these are budget movers– they provide the muscle and the truck. There are no pads and wraps. You want those things you better provide them yourself, or hire an expensive moving company at more than double the rates (and certainly not last minute). That being said, I had only one mild casualty in my entire move– a one inch scratch on the front of my china cabinet/​bar. I had more damage when I hired one of the big fancy movers for my last move. These guys were awesome. And I highly recommend.

They were flexible when my moving arrangements changed especially being in a high traffic area in center city. They were very nice, fast, and on time. Just make sure to have your own blankets and wrapping materials to protect your stuff during the move!

I honestly don’t have any complaints about this company. I am giving them four stars because it is my first time hiring a moving company and there is always room for improvement. John was very diligent and very helpful over the phone when I called to get quotes. They did required a $ 75.00 deposit that you can do through paypal but I found it fair enough. My move was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and at exactly that time, John called me to apologize because the movers were running a little late (which is understandable since I was their third move of the day). The guys finally arrived around 2:00 and everything went smooth. The two guys were very nice and respectful. John had quoted me a flat rate and that’s exactly what I ended up paying. Nothing more! By the time the movers got to my apartment, I had everything in boxes so they just loaded everything on the truck. They also disassembled my bed and assembled it back on the new apartment. I recommend these guys.

IF you want to get scammed, if you want to do most of the moving yourself, if you want to supply them with the moving essentials like a dolly, then go for this company. This company is more like 2 random dudes and truck. They scammed me out of my deposit, they were taking their sweet time moving and they didn’t wrap anything or have anything to move the big things. They were very unprofessional even after I bought them lunch and supplied them with drinks. The one positive thing I could say was while they were here they were polite, but who wouldn’t be when someone buys you lunch and helps you do your job (my husband was moving most of the furniture – we should have just rented a trunk and gave some friends money).
I just had to go through a refund process with PayPal to get my money back. These people don’t even provide you with a receipt. Do yourself a favor and skip these movers. I know the cheap service sounds like a dream, but these movers made my move more like a nightmare.
