Shimmer and Spice

Kristyn did my make-​up for my bridal shower and bachelorette party, which were on the same day. She did my make-​up at 9am and it stayed PERFECT until I got home at 2am. In between the shower and bachelorette, I used a beauty blender to smooth any creases caused by sweat (it was 90 degrees that day!) while everything else stayed in place.
We didn’t do a trial but I had a very specific «look» in mind. I showed Kristyn a few photos of make-​up inspiration, my dress and how I would wear my hair and she did exactly what I wanted!
Despite the hot day, my make-​up never looked caked on or flakey! She even gave me tips on how to remedy my dry skin. I would absolutely recommend Shimmer and Spice!

Kristyn did the makeup for my wedding this past weekend in the Poconos and it was incredible! We did two makeup trials in order to make sure my makeup was absolutely stunning for the wedding day. She knows exactly how to make a bride glow without looking like the makeup is caked on or fake. Additionally, my makeup was done around 11:30am and it was still as perfect at 2:30am the next day when I went to bed! I was out in hot, humid weather all day and dancing all night and the only thing piece I touched up was my lipstick! I would highly recommend Kristyn to any bride that just wants to enjoy their wedding day and not worry about touching up their makeup! She’s the absolute best!

Kristyn is an amazing artist. Every step of the way from the practice session to the big day went perfectly. She is extremely professional but also very friendly. She got to the venue a little earlier and was set up and ready to go by the time we had scheduled. All my bridesmaids and both my moms were extremely happy with their make up. and I looked amazing! I still looked like myself, but the most beautiful version of myself! I loved looking at every single picture; thinking wow, that’s me! Our wedding day was really hot. We spent a few hours with the photographer outside in the 94 degree direct sun. Then we danced non-​stop from 6pm to 12am, and after all that, my make up was still FLAWLESS. I can’t thank Kristyn enough for that. I strongly recommend Shimmer and Spice to all brides who want to look and feel their most beautiful on their big day!

Kristyn is super talented and a gem of a person. I run a nonprofit called Emily’s Entourage and I’ve had the extreme privilege of having my makeup done by Kristyn for a photo shoot and fundraising gala. The first time I was a bit nervous as she came through the photographer and I’m admittedly very picky about my makeup, but Kristyn totally nailed it.
She instantaneously make me feel completely comfortable. She was incredibly patient and a really good listener. She urged me to speak up and it was clearly really important to her that I was totally happy and comfortable with my look — and not just in a lip service kind of way. Kristyn really meant it, and it totally paid off! Both times I was absolutely ecstatic about the final product (both at the moment and in retrospect via pics) and just so grateful to have worked with someone so caring, kind and empowering. As an additional perk, Kristyn shared makeup tips with me during the session that I now use everyday!
Recently when my foundation had an event in another city and I had to use another makeup artist, I missed Kristyn extra fiercely! I HIGHLY recommend Kristyn to anyone and everyone!!! She’s the real deal — incredibly gifted at what she does, a wonderful person, and the biggest heart around. You’re so lucky to have stumbled upon someone so stellar!!!

Reluctantly I used Kristyn for my makeup at my brother’s wedding. I was reluctant because I am pretty good at doing my own makeup and thought I would have been wasting money. But after the experience of relaxing and sipping champagne while she did all the work was awesome. The best part about it is when I look back on pictures, my makeup looks flawless and she uses techniques that I myself would not usually do. So my makeup looks extra special for an extra special day. My other brother is getting married soon and I will definitely be using Kristyn again!
