This place has been closed for about 4 years. John has moved across the street to March Hare and he is still great.

This place sucks, guy was working on my hair for 5 minutes and did horrible job.

Silvio and John are extremely easy-going and good to see a traditional barbershop in Center City. Excellent hours for before, during or after work. They do a real haircut with both scissors and clippers, depending on your hair. Nice to have a pleasant conversation while getting a cut. Pricier than a chain like Hair Cuttery etc, but in the mid-range for barbers/salons ~ $ 25.

Sivlio couldn’t be a nicer guy. However, his hair expertise seems to be restricted to clippers. Like the last reviewer, my haircut lasted five minutes(though no one else was waiting) and my dew came out too close to that of Vanilla Ice circa 1990. I retreated home, pulled out scissors, and tried to mend some uneven clipping. For $ 25, I’d hope for 15 – 20 minutes of attention.

I’m on the fence between 3 and 4 stars. My haircut only took like 5 minutes, and for $ 25 bucks it’s better than most cuts I’ve gotten in the city. I still have to grow into before I decide. I might search for an Italian barber in the suburbs who can take care of my thick hair for less than $ 20
