I’ve been going to the March Hare for about 6 months now. I get a great hair cut every time. my hair is very short(and thin). That is a challenge to hair stylists… there is no room for mistakes. Since having Carmen cut my hair I frequently receive unsolicited compliments. Proof that I’m getting a great cut. It’s a great location, a down-to-earth place, and… best of all, the prices are extremely reasonable.

This place hasn’t been updated since probably the early-1980s, or maybe even the late ‘70s, but don’t let that turn you off. My husband and I took the recommendation of our gay friend(and if he goes here, you know it has to be decent) and we’ve been going to Diane for the past year. Absolutely no complaints. She’s a great hairdresser, she listens, and on top of that, she’s a trip. The best part is that The March Hare is CHEAP — women’s haircuts are under $ 25, and this is in the Rittenhouse area. This place is really an undiscovered gem among younger folk, as the majority of the clientele are in their 80s and up and come to their appointments with their personal nurses/caregivers. That doesn’t mean they don’t know how to do hair in a stylish way, though. Last year I had Diane cut off about eight inches, and she did an excellent job!
