It’s nice to have a newish place open in roxborough. I hadn’t been here prior to the renovation but the inside is nice and clean. There was no wait and plenty of tables when we got there Saturday 1030. Service was quick, music wasn’t obnoxious. The food was fresh tasting, I had huevos rancheros and the pico and guac were good. Coffee was great. I’ll be back to try the French toast

This USED to be our go to breakfast joint. It was your typical, towny diner. If you came here a few times, they considered you a regular. The staff is friendly, and the food was consistent and good. Now, flash forward to November of 2013, they completely renovated it from the décor to the food to the prices. I’m so disappointed. I want my average omelette and cup of coffee, not some fancy spinach eggs Benedict and cappuccino. If I wanted that, I would head down to Main Street to Winnie’s. The service is super slow and the food is just average, especially for the price.

Went here for breakfast on new years day with a party of 8 people. We called beforehand to ask if they could handle a group our size and they said no problem, but it took half an hour for the server to take our order, and a full HOUR after that before we actually got our meals. Not surprisingly the food was cold by then. The place was not not very full/busy, so I have no idea what took so long. After we started complaining they apologized a couple times but never really gave a good reason as to why it took so long. Food was pretty good(but cold). Would not go back.

I’ve been getting breakfast from Taylor’s for 20 years and through about 3 owners. It will always be my favorite breakfast place in Roxborough, and it will always kill the College-draw that is Bob’s Diner. Taylor’s is an old-fashionied diner that really hasn’t changed since I started going there as a teenager. Service can be slow, but it’s a local spot where they will remember you, what you want and how you like it(even if you only go there once or twice a month). The food is pretty quality. I LOVE their homefries, and their egg sandwiches are delicious. Pancakes, waffles, etc. all golden perfection :) I also LOVE their creamed chipped beef on toast(sometimes I dream about it– which is silly, right? it’s just milk, flour, salt and pepper, but darn is it plate-scrapingly good). There are various breakfast specials that change from day to day and week to week, so always ask first if you’re calling in your order :)

I began eating breakfast here when the Ridge Diner closed. The food is pretty good and the prices are OK, but this place is INFESTED with ROACHES. I blew it off the first couple of times because there’s not much choice in Roxborough. The last time I ate at the counter thinking I’d be «safe». WRONG! I took one bite and then noticed a large roach on the counter not more than 6 inches from my plate. That did it for me. Totally lost my appetite and refused to pay. The attitude of staff is «everyone has roaches» and we have an exterminator. Well guess what Taylor’s? ITAIN’T WORKING! I told them I would not be back. The old Ridge Diner has re-opened under new management. They completely gutted the place, put in new kitchen equipment, new booths, new everything. The place is beautiful. Outside, they landscaped with flowers and rock gardens. The food is great, the place is clean and well-lit, and the prices, although slightly higher, are worth it. There’s even a large screen TV behind the counter and if you eat there regularly, they’ll give you the remote.

had breakfast and the food tasted better than alot of other places in the area which is probably why there were alot of customers there I just think that the service could be better to match the quality of the food

This is a no frills breakfast/lunch joint. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but compared to some of the diner locales in the area, this is a hidden gem. Was closed for a bit but has since re-opened. The service is always stellar and the food is brilliant. Lots of selection. They’ll make whatever you want to order — I always get a cheesesteak wrap, lovely! The prices are super reasonable, too. Parking is rough on Ridge Avenue, but there’s a lot on the adjoining cross street that suits.
