I saw one of my coworkers order from here and decided to give it a try. I had a cheeseburger platter with fries and a coke. Everything was just ok and nothing to brag about. I prob wouldn’t go back unless I had to. The price was cheap which was adequate for the food. Maybe I should’ve tried their wieners instead. This establishment only takes cash. On the plus side the staff was friendly.

NOW«TEXASTOMMY’S» and was«The Greek’s» is the best. Order one with«The Works». Mustard, onion and their special Secret Sauce. They have bacon, cheese and other condiments. Their«Secret Sauce» makes it the best. Wide(hamburger width) with hot dog length roll. I buy them well done with mustard, onions, Secret Sauce, and their«Greek sauce». Nothing Greek about it but they’re GREAT. They offer several toppings including different cheeses. PRICESAREVERYINEXPENSIVE. And they travel well… talk to Bobby and tell him about packing for planes, trains and other long haul packaging. Good people… Good juke box. They have other other very good dishes but the dogs are the reason I’ll travel 20plus miles to get a six pack or a dozen. Parking.no problem just double prk or tuck in at corner. Had my first in 1959. Would pick them for my last meal. Good selection of sodas and I’ve picked them up going to ballgame at stadium(s) or arena when Sixers were worth watching. ******

This place was fun! Cheap, easy, good food. Customer service was blah but it was cool being in a vintage place…

This place is as authenticity South Philly as you can possibly get. Hot dogs are prepped by hand(and arm) and get to your table or counter seat quickly. The«works» features a sauce with fresh onions and mustard inside and is flawless on a hot dog. Paired with a root beer and you have again as authentic a South Philly style lunch as humanly possible.

This is the go to spot for hot dogs. I have been going here since I was a kid. The hot dog with the«works» is the best!!! The price is right !!!

Classic joint in South Philly. Jay was pretty damn awesome. Customer service here is special. Very good spot for customer service. I’ve ordered from these guys for delivery before and it was fast. I’ve also ate in numerous times and love the old school feel of this spot. The food is great. My favorite dish here, the Texan, is a gem. Just pure deliciousness. This spot is a great spot. Check it out and get them weiners in your mouths.

Sorry… not a fan. I dont understand the hype. Dogs were mediocre quality with scant topping… maybe worth one more stop.

I don’t eat a lot of hot dogs, and rarely eat them outside of home. This was a good solid dog though. Being grilled is a nice touch. Got it w/the works, and it was tasty., Especially the sauce. A nice snack, but don’t think I would eat more than one. Worth a try if you are in the area and want a quick, tasty, inexpensive nosh.

Just thinking about this place my mouth starts to water. They do the hot dogs up the arm, an armload at a time. They have these oval rolls, they split the dogs, and it’s an ambrosial couple of mouthfuls. Get more than one. Ask for the one closest to the armpit.(jk). When I was a little kid, I used to get them with mustard only, but when I grew up, I got THEWORKS! Mustard, raw onion and the SAUCE! The secret sauce. They also have«surf and turf,» a fishcake sandwich and a hot dog. That’s very whimsical, don’t you think? The guys who run it are very fast and very, very nice. It’s not a pretty place. If you’re so fancy, get it to go. But just go!

Best hot dogs ever. I traveled last month to east coast and a friend recommended this place. Can’t find it in LA.

I was here the other day, nice south philly gem. Very old school, luncheonette style. Got the six pack of dogs, we mixed it up. The works(mustard, greek sauce and onions) Texas Tommy(wiz and bacon) the Texan(hash brown, onions and peppers) They’re served on club rolls, just enough to fill you up. Decent prices, quality stuff.

I’ve been here a few times and always enjoy their diner-style hotdogs. The place is clean and has plenty of seating. I would certainly recommend giving Texas Wieners a try. My one single issue: the fries. If this place had crispy, seasoned fries instead of the soft, bland ones… they’d be unstoppable.

The hot dogs are a little smaller than what I expected so I ordered three, plus fries. All that that and a drink came to $ 12, so the price is right. The food was great, and the service was fast & friendly. Definitely give this place a try if you want a quick greasy meal to hit the spot.

This is more of the old-fashioned kind of hot dog place, but they do that very well. There isn’t any expensive, new, creative, or weird combinations with the dogs. Instead you get a typical frank split and seared on the flat top until that sweet Maillard reaction kicks in. I have to recommend that you do not come here looking for merguez sausage or a wasabi dog, but do patronize the establishment if you want a cheap but good chili dog. The people are nice enough, there’s a definite South Philly vibe going on with the sports playing on the TV and the casual nature. I have to strongly recommend sticking with hotdogs here, though as I’ve experienced poorly cooked fries and a really bland burger. That’s the only reason I’m subtracting a star, because Texas Wieners does what they set out to do very well: Feed you lots of unhealthy food on the cheap, quickly, without any bullshit. I recommend their chili dogs and the Texas Tommy

Best hot dogs ever. Best in the world. Best. The only thing I ever get here is the works: a split grilled dog with onions mustard and Greek sauce on a club roll. It is amazing. I would eat them every day of the week if I could. People have told me in the past about hot dog places that they know that are«the best» and they quickly recant their statements after I bring them here. We have a rule in my house: if you go to Texas Wieners, you need to get a blackjack(21 hotdogs) and bring them home for everyone. There used to be a Texas Wiener in Collingswood, which is closer to me, but it closed. The only bad thing is the hours. They aren’t open late and, unless things have changed, aren’t open on Sunday(which is of course when I most often get a craving). I am actually thinking about skipping work right now to go get one.

Got two hot dogs today. The Texan with hashbrown and peppers, and a sausage with provolone and rabe. Both were incredible. So much flavor packed inside a tightly wound rocket of gourmet! I had a Hank’s Root beer as well. Went perfectly with the spice of the sausage and peppers. Well done TW!
