Stopped by ToBox for a quick shine before a wedding. Great store with great people. A $ 6 shine for the time spent is pretty good.

Wonderful little men’s shoe store that fills in a little niche missing in Philly’s men’s shoe market. If you’re looking for high end shoes and don’t enjoy the experience at a large department store, I’d highly recommend ToBox. The store is beautiful, the staff is knowledgable, and the shoes are high quality.

To box is hands down the best mens shoe store in Philadelphia. The owner was very helpful and was just awesome to talk to. His passion for his products puts this review over the top. Some of the other reviewers who are complaining about Tobox not carrying the top brands cannot be further from the truth. Tobox carries John Lobb, owned by Hermes and is probably the best ready to wear dress shoe line in the world, Carmina, possibly the best bang for your buck mid level luxury shoe maker in the world, and Rancourt, handsewns made in here in the USA. If anybody can name a better shoe store in center city, let me know.

Tobox is the best place in Philadelphia to get your shoes shined in the city. They use Saphir products and do a great base shine for $ 6 and they will clean and use renovateur and shine for $ 10. They also are the only place I know of in center city Philadelphia that sells Saphir and LCA products. The pricing for the Saphir products is on par with what you would find on the internet and why not support a local business. The staff is really nice and they will pour you a glass of whiskey while you are shopping or getting your shoes shined. They also are the only place in the city that carries John Lobb shoes. They have a great selection of shoe horns, pocket sqaures and carry a great selection of colors and styles of shoes They have a clearance section in the back that is worth checking out. Anyone that cares about their shoes should stop into ToBox for a shine or to pickup some Saphir product for their own shine kit.

poor experience at Tobox. the salesperson was very bitter and curt and pushy and wouldn’t stop following me around their small store. what, i’m going to steal half a pair of shoes? as for the selection, it’s evident they don’t have any of the top brands…

Stopped by here previously to get something to clean blue suede shoes I have and saw that they have a nice selection so decided to stop by — I needed new black dress shoes. Great selection of high-end casual and dress shoes. Described the type of shoe I wanted and was shown several possible great options — all nice but I eventually decided on a pair of soft black leather Bruno Magli’s. If you are looking for high-end shoes this place is definitely worth a look(one pair I saw but didn’t buy was $ 1600!). Most though are significantly less. They also carry shoe accessories such as high-end socks and shoe polish and etc… (I believe it’s the case that the owner’s name is Mr. To. ‘Toe Box’ is the ‘technical’ name for the part of the shoe that covers your toes. Hence the name of the store To Box.)

I had a miserable experience at To Box. The brands here aren’t that nice, which is fine, but neither was the person who helped me. also, why come here when it’s right next to boyds? boyds has nicer brands, a much bigger shoe selection, and it has customer service that is second to none. i’ll pass.
