Let me just say that the Ox Tail taco that I had here the other night was AMAZING… We also sampled a few others which were all delicious. The portions are healthy and the prices inexpensive. Each taco is between $ 3.5 and $ 7. The only thing I would suggest is that you ask what the taco has on it as it is not listed. I dont like beans or sour cream and would have liked to have known they were on there. It is a BYOB and we brought our tequila to make margaritas. They supply the margarita mix and will make it for you.

Tried both the mushroom and the cactus/sweet potato tacos and have never had such a greasy taco. Both left a puddle of grease in the plastic basket it was served in. The one star is for the chips(that came with like 2T of pico) that were really good.

Favorite place for a late night delivery. The food is so flavorful, delivery is fast and ordering online is super convenient. The pork carnita, short rib torta and fried corn are highly recommended. A must when visiting manayunk.

Bring back Caputo’s, please. Tacos are grossly huge, with little flavor or toppings. I don’t need half a pound of shredded chicken in a corn tortilla. Manayunk, why must you be cursed with such lame lunch options?

My husband and I are taco aficionados, and I was having a craving, but there is a dearth of authentic taquerias in NW Philly/Bala Cynwyd. I had my doubts about the«creative flavors» and high prices, but several Unilocalers insisted that the tacos were large and filling. We got 5 different kinds for pickup, and I will rate each individually, on a scale of 1 – 5: Mahi mahi: 1.5 Carnitas: 1.5 Fried fish: 2 Traditional(ground beef): 3 Steak: 3.5 First of all, they were flour instead of corn tortillas, which would have been a dealbreaker had I known, but I get that some people are into that. And they weren’t grilled or fried, which in my opinion, makes for a raw-dough taste. But they also only used one tortilla for a large amount of very wet filling. So the tacos were falling apart and dripping everywhere. They were also extremely bland. They needed lime juice, salt, fat, spices — all of the above. I noticed that their slogan is «Where the gringo meets the streets.» Well, I will say that on that spectrum, these tacos entirely toward gringo. I think the only way someone could like these tacos is if they’ve never been to a taqueria where the staff speaks Spanish. Calling them tacos is an embarrassment to tacos — they’d be more aptly called open-faced burritos.

I was mourning the loss of machismo burrito. But this is better for me. A counter and a dozen tables spaced around. A couple of dozen options on the menu. But the taste of the tacos is what earns my 5 stars. The guacamole was fine, but not extraordinary. I personally don’t like that style of chip the best, but many others do. I ate it all, no problem. Looking forward to going back and trying some other things on the menu.

I can’t imagine who would think this food is good. I was shocked at how disgusting it was. I was pleasantly surprised by the very generous portions, but the food was a bland pile of mush. The steak taco tasted like it came from a can of Vienna sausages. The kobe ground beef was like something from a hospital cafeteria. Pork cheek pastor? Joke. I’m embarrassed for these people. Paid over $ 50 on grub hub for food that my wife just dumped in the trash can. The chips were good. Would give less than one star.

Being a California native where great authentic mexican food is around every corner, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good taco place in philly! I went for the first time yesterday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the steak plank taco as well as the chicken I also ordered the fish and Kobe beef taco for my boyfriend and topped it all off with the queso and chorizo cheese fries:) I’m in love with the steak plank taco! And my guy really loved the kobe beef. I’m actually going back today because I was thinking about them allll night! Fast service cool atmosphere overall great taco spot! A bit high for just one taco, but if your a true taco fan you’ll spend it! Happy eating!

We went here on a recommendation and it was good the only thing I dislike was the pork cheek taco. But everything else was good. Oxtail tacos was new for me and it was surprisingly good. Pico de gallo was nice and fresh.

Union Taco is a solid spot on Main Street. The food comes out quickly and has good flavor. The employees are usually pretty nice and personable. I also like the plethora of hot sauces they offer. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get, and I appreciate that they take cards instead of being cash only. My favorite taco that I’ve tried so far is the carnitas. It comes with a fresh albeit small slice of avocado. Grab two for a quick dinner or lunch.

I ordered a single taco to go. I was super famished. I tried their fish taco. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the fried fish. However, the slaw that they used with the fish wasn’t to my taste. It was very salty, but more of a soy sauce salt to it. That really overpowered the entire taco. I didn’t even taste any of the citrus of the lime. I’ll come back and try some more things.

Funky«fast food» with great portion sizes. The Oxtail is really greasy and the arugula and blue cheese are overpowering. Order without the toppings or plan on scraping it off, but overall the oxtail flavor is great. The ground beef is listed as «kobe» on the menu but its so loaded in seasonings and sauce, its barely even tastes like beef. The pickled jalopenos are way too spicey and again, the arugula ruins the taste. This is one that tasted ok, but I don’t think I’d order it again. At $ 3.50-$ 5.50 per taco, they’re cheap and portions are HUGE, you’ll have trouble eating a 2nd one

Totally different feel, more similar to a fast food joint then place to sit down and eat. BYOT aka bring your own tequila which is cool and they will make margaritas with it. Tacos are tasty but a little pricey. SOOO many hot sauces to choose from which is a main reason I like this place. You walk up to the counter to place your order and pay and then they bring the food to you.

Maybe I came at an extremely off day, but this place cannot handle the large crowd it often attracts. This is supposed to be an order-up-front and find-your-own-seat kind of place, which implies food should NOT take that long to come out. I was maybe 7th in line, but had to wait FORTY minutes for my food AFTER I ordered. That makes service alone 1 star. Tacos? For a place whose menu is primarily tacos, these are significantly disappointing. I ordered al pastor, which to them basically meant put hot sauce on some pork. We also ordered mahi mahi, which were decently better than the al pastor. Oddly, my favorite thing from this place were the churros. I would return here for their chocolate sauce churros, but definitely not for their tacos.

So maybe I’m a taco nazi, but these were some of the most disappointing tacos I have had in a long time. I came here for lunch yesterday and was willing to be impressed. The primary color scheme décor is lacking with a chalkboard menu that is hard to read, and awkward with other patrons sitting in front of it. To start, we got the jalapeño queso, which is where the disappointment began. The chips were good, but the queso was a very small portion that was extremely runny and had no spicy kick at all. It was in a plastic cup that no chips could fit inside unless you broke them up. It seems these same issues came up in reviews written over six months ago, and nothing has changed. I then split a cactus taco, a mushroom taco, and the pork burrito with my boyfriend. The tacos are quite large, not street style at all, but they seem to be stuffed with random ingredients that aren’t complimentary at all. I’m not even sure what was the actual cactus in the cactus taco, but there were a bunch of black beans, onions, and other ingredients. The wild mushroom taco was a blatant lie. If it was called just a mushroom taco, that would be fine. But, it was not. The mushrooms were very far from wild — they were just button mushrooms that were mediocrely cooked, served with some other veggies with a few glops of goat cheese on top. What? The burrito was probably a half step above the tacos, but the pork had an extremely sweet flavor to it that was very off-putting. Pair this with very lackluster service, and I won’t come back.

On god’s green earth I cannot rationalize paying 4 – 7 dollars for one taco that is sloppy, from a to go place. Some tacos taste good, other tacos do not. The décor is standard. You can BYOB. There is a lot of hot sauce, maybe to cover up the taste, and since my third visit I have had no inclination to return.

Not the most amazing tacos but certainly not bad. The size of their tacos is pretty big. I tried the traditional and mahi mahi. The traditional was good, very flavorful. I didn’t like the mahi mahi all that much, it was a little bland for me. I also ordered the chips and queso. The chips were good but queso wasn’t very tasty. Most of the menu is written on the board, there’s also paper menu(print outs, looks a little cheap in my opinion). They have a bunch of hot sauces set on the bar top but no small packets for the ones who do take out. The inside has some are seats, some tables for dine in. There are also a few tables outside as well.

To be completely upfront and honest, yes, the free taco they offered during their opening night may have slightly influenced my rating… but only because it was damn good. The old Caputo’s is now Union Taco. While Union doesn’t serve the late night hours that Caputo’s once did, the quality of food they offer is on par with the pizza joint I miss greatly. Yes, main street is not short on Mexican options and $ 3 to $ 5 for a taco may seem pricey, but good food usually wins out. They also have some unique tacos like Oxtail or Cactus. I didn’t stray to far from norm on my 1st trip, so can only recommend the Traditional and Fish tacos at this point. I’ll be back for more adventurous dinners in the near future.

On a nice summer afternoon, Manayunk welcomed Union Taco to the neighborhood. Union Taco welcomed every guest with a free taco. I’m a little surprised about Union Taco’s decision to open a store on Main Street to be honest. It’s literally on the same block as Cactus and down the street from Taqueria Feliz. What’s the difference? Well, Union Taco is BYO. You also place your order at the counter and bring it to the table. This seems like a great place for a quick, casual taco. At the time I arrived, they were preparing the chicken taco for everyone to sample. The Poblano Braised Chicken taco was stuffed with pickled tomatillos, queso fresco, piquillo coulis. I got the honor of taking the wrapper off the red Chili Habanero hot sauce. The taco wasn’t huge which is fine for a free sample. Normally they are $ 4 a pop so it’s reasonable enough to make a multi-taco meal. As of today, the website lists the chicken taco for $ 7 so I’m glad the menus that they were passing out said otherwise. The taco itself was pretty good. The braised chicken was melt in your mouth good. Speaking of melted, the taco was fresh out of the kitchen so the cheese had a nice melt to it. To my own fault, I probably put a little too much hot sauce on to get a true assessment of the taco. It was spicy, just the way I like it though. I was literally there within the second hour of operation and could see there were some growing pains. I like to cut up my tacos and they didn’t have silverware or plastic ware. They also didn’t have a trash can yet and you needed to hand your plate to one of the employees. The employees did seem friendly and eager to make the new taco shop work. The menu looks pretty interesting over and has many interesting ingredient tacos. I look forward to going back and exploring their offerings.
