Went to 2 Wrenches today for the first time after reading the stellar reviews from others and was not surprised to find that these are extremely honest, hardworking, truly good people. They figured out the issue that was wrong with my oil tank, replaced the lost oil and also replaced my brake lights that I was unaware were even out– free of cost (no charge even for their time and labor)! I would recommend their services to anyone and will definitely be back with any other car issues. I cringe to think of what a commercial mechanic would have charged for the issues discovered on my car. Grateful for honest mechanics like these guys.

WOW! I am so impressed with 2 Wrenches. I was interested in buying a used car from someone who lived in this neighborhood so I consulted Unilocal for an unbiased mechanic to do an inspection in the area before I purchased it (I know nothing about cars). The guys at 2 Wrenches did the inspection free of charge and were super thorough, they even replaced a bulb in the tail light for free! To give you perspective, I had another car inspected that I didn’t end up buying and that mechanic charged me $ 100! If I lived closer I would take my car here all the time.

Where do I start with this phenomenal company?
I was first introduced to Two Wrenches several years ago when the braking system in my car decided to malfunction. I depended on my car for everything and I needed it back on the road as soon as possible. Dan assured me that he would get be back on the road quickly, and that’s exactly what he did. I didn’t have to get a rental or wait around in the shop very long. He was efficient with his work and from that day forward I’ve refused to let anyone touch my car.
Since my initial experience the level of superior service I’ve received at Two Wrenches has remained the same. I can call Dan anytime and he will make it a priority to get me taken care of. The guys at Two Wrenches are definitely passionate about what they do and I appreciate the excellent service they give their customers.

Awesome people. Definitely would recommend. Felt like I was part of the family, no pressure to sell stuff you don’t need. That is so refreshing. I will be back!

If you are looking for a TRUSTWORTHY, HONEST, and DOWN-​TO-​EARTH garage, look no further. I’m moving to the Phoenix area this summer. The guys at 2 Wrenches have a lifetime customer in me. My story:
Drove my 2010 Toyota Corolla from Utah to the Phoenix area to interview for teaching positions next year. Arrived late Sunday afternoon. My A/​C had been acting funky since the day before I left on the trip (I’d had it in for an oil change and tire rotation in preparation for the trip), and of course it’s 94 degrees when I arrive on a March day.
I’m stressed as *&^% about the interviews AND my car now. With the stigma attached to automotive repairs, how do you find someone you can trust? Especially when you’re in from out of town AND have a packed schedule for a week? I hop onto Unilocal to look for good reviews and find 2 Wrenches near where I’m staying with my daughter and son-​in-​law.
I get up and get going on Monday morning for my five interviews on the day. I spend the day either interviewing or finding streets/​freeways with a speed limit of 40 or more so that I can get my A/​C to do what it’s supposed to do (at slow speeds, it’s blasting hot air — at higher speeds, it’s cold air). I get two job offers that, cancel all of my other interviews except one.
I call 2 Wrenches on my way back to the house, then stop in and explain what’s going on. I also mention that one of the places I took it to said that I needed a master brake cylinder (they wanted about $ 400 for parts and labor). 2 Wrenches writes up a ticket for me for the next day, tell me to bring it in tomorrow, and I go hang out with a beverage by the pool to contemplate my offers.
The next day, I drop off my car, borrow my son-in-law’s truck, and go to my one remaining interview. After receiving (and accepting) an offer on the spot, I spend the rest of the day looking at potential housing. I get a call later in the afternoon saying that my car is ready, so I head over.
I’m in no way mechanically inclined, so I’m one of those guys who could have been taken for some serious money. In fact, I had mentioned to my son-​in-​law that I had in my mind that I was going to have to spend at least $ 500 to get it fixed. I’m a teacher married to a teacher — $ 500 is big money to us.
I get back to the garage, walk in, and ask who wants my money. I’m directed to the office area. I say my name and he looks for my keys. Says, «Oh, yeah, yours is the free one.» Grabs my key off a hook, hands it to me, says, «No charge, my man.» WHAT???
Turns out «someone» unplugged my radiator fan. (As they explain it to me, this is why, at low speeds, the fan wasn’t blowing cold air. At higher speeds, the air is forced in through the grill, the fan turns, and blows cold air.). He tells me that it is practically impossible for this clip to jiggle loose, then pops the hood and shows me. He had to press hard on a clip to get it disengaged. Very professional — does not say out loud what we’re both thinking: «Someone either totally screwed up last week OR were trying to take me for more money.»
Scary. «What about the brakes?» He said they checked them, re-​calibrated the rear brakes while they had it, topped off fluids, test-​drove it, and everything was fine. I kept offering to pay something for their time, but they kept refusing. I finally got a response when I offered to bring back an adult beverage at closing time. (I’ll do that this summer when I move here — I promise).
These guys are amazing. They could have taken me for hundreds of dollars, but chose to remain professional and trustworthy and honest, and sent me on my way. Love this place!

These guys are awesome! Just stopped in unannounced and they took a look at a couple things on my truck and had her all fixed up in 15 minutes. (computer issues) Best of all, he didn’t charge me a penny. They earned a tip and my future business. It’s nice to see honest businesses are still out there.

Dan & Lewis are awesome! We have not seen service like this since we left Minnesota decades ago and we have lived in various parts of the US.
Power steering pump leaking badly and they took my husband the next day! They fixed more than the pump and didn’t charge us because it wasn’t on the estimate. Unheard of in this day and age … and, the car is running great! These guys are the best and these are the *professionals* we’ll be going back to! Hard to find competent, caring, honest and reasonably priced all in one location. We are very grateful Two Wrenches!

What a find! Tucked in at 21^st street and Rose garden lane is this 2 Wrenches shop. I’m a girl I own a truck and I usually get jerked around. Not here! Best customer service anywhere. These guys took great care of my truck. I never have to look for a mechanic again.

While nothing got «fixed» per say, I’m still very happy with the service I got here. For one I called at 10pm hoping to get an answering machine to find out their hours for the next day. Someone answered! He told me they were actually closed the next day (Sunday) but were gonna be there anyway. He asked what was up with my car, it was the tire pressure light, and told me to just swing by and they’d see what they could do. I came by the next day, they checked it out, weren’t able to fix it (complicated car talk), but reassured me it wasn’t a big deal. They did tell me however that I needed new tires pretty badly. It seems the new tires have resolved the problem :) I wish I had found these guys when I was actually living in Phoenix!

I found out about these guys thanks to my aunt, who is a good friend of theirs. They’re awesome dudes. In all honesty they always tell me when something is wrong with my car, the prices are always reasonable or even less than most places, and they never take advantage of the fact I don’t know shit about cars.
Whenever I do come to them and have them look at my car for problems, if they do find minor things they fix it for me without charge, which in all honesty is amazing.
I’ve never had a problem with their work. They’re really good dudes, who do really good work, and know what their doing.

After recently moving to Arizona from California, I had no idea where to take my truck for auto service after my oil filter sprung a HUGE leak. While my vehicle was being towed to a different place, the driver told me about «2 Wrenches Automotive.» He told me that he knew an EXCELLENT place that he took most of his customers. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go at first because I didn’t want to get taken advantage of because I was a female in an unfamiliar city, but I decided to take the chance since the tow truck driver was raving about this place so much. «2 Wrenches» exceeded my expectations! The staff was so friendly and the owner, Lewis made me feel very comfortable in a situation that most women would be balling their eyes out. Not only was it friendly service, but they found the problem in a matter of minutes! My oil filter had busted, causing my entire oil supply to empty out. That day also happened to be «free oil change day» and my oil filter was replaced at NO COST. Today wasn’t just my lucky day for a free oil change, but I also found my new, reliable, honest, trustworthy, and talented mechanic. I could have easily been taken advantage of and had to pay hundreds of dollars, but this place really showed me that there are still honest establishments who care about customer service, not just making another dollar. DEFINITELY 5 STARS!!!

Upon reading two great Unilocal reviews for 2 Wrenches Automotive, I took my older car in for a estimate on a timing belt. I had been to four other shop in Phoenix and had a good idea what it would cost. I was stunned to see that their price was almost 50% less.
They have just completed the work (one day) and the car is running great.
I noticed many of their waiting customers were women. I was told by one lady, that they didn’t try and take advantage of her and she was sending her whole family to
them.
What I really liked was that they noticed my rear light had gone out and put in a
new one. No charge. Now that is customer service!
It is a 2 man operation in a small shop, which keeps labor cost way down plus
they know what they are doing. I couldn’t ask for more. I really recommend
them.

My husband and I have been here twice and we will always come here for our car needs from now on. The guys here are honest and very reasonably priced. They take the time to explain things to you and answer any questions or concerns you may have. They really care about their customers and aren’t trying to rip people off like other mechanic shops. Best experiences we’ve ever had with getting our cars repaired.

This place is AMAZING. It’s definately not your ordinary «stick it to you» type mechanic shop. When I walked in I didn’t get that sinking feeling like some one was going to try to nickel and dime me to death. They are honest, fair and very reasonably priced. Their work is high quality and they were on point with what I needed. I will rave and recommend this place for years to come. They were so much help!

Lewis and Dan are my new go-​to mechanics. They are experienced, honest, and exceeded my expectations. You can’t ask for more. Oh, did I mention that their pricing is fair? It is. My car needed more work than I was aware of when I brought it in, but the final tally was still less that what I was quoted elsewhere. They don’t cut corners as the components they used were all high quality.
Dan looked over my car immediately and Lewis reviewed with me everything that was discovered. The primary issue was already known to me, but the secondary was not. I did suspect that there was a separate issue, but was not sure of its source. Once, Lewis showed me, it was obvious and I authorized the fix right away even though it was not an immediate hazard (Lewis made that clear too.)
FYI: I am a motor vehicle hobbyist and did all of my own automotive and motorcycle maintenance for years, but don’t have the time to do so now. Now I just do the fun stuff and leave the fixing and maintenance to 2 Wrenches Automotive. Taking that into account, my observations regarding this shop might be considered more reliable than someone with no automotive experience whatsoever. No disrespect intended to auto neophytes!
