we apologize for any misunderstanding the home owner’s sister may have with the specific details and chain of events as they actually occurred. Our technician called the manufacturer in front of the actual owner and she was well aware that the manufacturer told us on speaker phone that her unit was out of warranty. Due to our research and persistence we were able to locate the original manufacturer’s invoice from 2010 which proved the unit was still under warranty. This discovery reduced the fee for replacing her electronically controlled motor by 80%. At that point the homeowner asked us to bring the warranty motor out and make the repair and an appointment time was confirmed. That morning the owner of Absolute Value picked the motor up in phoenix and personally delivered it to the technician so he could install it at the appointed time. Once there, the tech was met by a gentleman that asked us to sell him the warranty motor so he could install it himself and that our service was no longer necessary. We declined his request and returned the motor back to the manufacturer.

My sister used this company to install a new air conditioner in Dec of 2010. She called them last week when her air went out and was told that they could not verify her 5 year warranty because they converted all of their paperwork to computers and their new records showed that she purchased the system in May 2010. She would now need to pay $ 1000 for a new blower motor and would have to wait at least 2 days for them to install it. She called someone else to fix her air, and while they were on her roof working Absolute Value shows up with a new motor. They never contacted her to tell her that they had resolved her problem and that her warranty was still good, and that they were coming to fix it, and then they refused to fix the problem because someone else was working on it and it invalidated the warranty. Thanks Absolute Value! Because of your error she had to pay someone else to fix her system. A simple phone call would have prevented the whole thing!
