Bar 1

Nothing is more honorable than ownership and trying to rectify a bad experience that you had no control over. I recently wrote a review for Bar1 in regards to an unpleasant interaction. I decided to change my review today because the Bar1 team reached out to me about what had occurred. I am very impressed with their initiative and the willingness to address the situation. Although I may never set foot back in that bar, Bar1 has made it clear that they value their customers and their business. Kuddos!

Bar 1 is a great neighborhood bar! It’s considered a gay bar, but like most of the «gay» bars today, everyone is welcome and all kinds of people are seen there.
Bar 1 is very friendly, comfortable and clean. I would consider it upscale but not snobby by any means. They have a beautiful patio, nice living room area and the main bar has plenty of seating at tables and at the bar itself. There are two pool tables and a juke box. My advice is to leave the juke box alone and just enjoy the awesome music videos they play. Personally I think having the juke box is a mistake because as I said, their video library is awesome. If you are nice to your bartender, they will even play something that you want to hear.
Drinks are fantastic and they can make just about anything. Try one of their champagne specialties or shot of the month. Always delicious!
I am a Jack and Coke drinker and one of the things I like best about Bar 1 is they use real Coca-​Cola products. Do you know how important this is? Those knock off soda products that some bars use can almost ruin a drink!
There are various specials throughout the week…2−4 – 1 every Thursday. Karaōke is every Tuesday.
Be sure to check out Bar 1 you don’t even have to be gay!

Been coming here on Fridays and Saturdays to start the night and the service is great, atmosphere is chill, and drink prices are very fair. I highly recommend. There’s a neat patio for the smokers with bar access, plenty of tv’s to watch the best music videos, 2 pool tables inside and just an all around cool bar.

RC is the best bartender! Also they have the best drink specials. Two for one on Thursdays

My partner and I have been coming to Bar 1 for several years since moving from L.A. We’ve been to many gay bars in both LA and SD and compared to those bars Bar 1 is our #1 gay bar. We’ve totally enjoyed Bar 1’s atmosphere, outdoor patio and most of all great bar tenders! Five stars!

Two-​for-​one Thursday! There may be other specials — but two-​for-​one Thursday should make anyone on a budget smile!
It gets better! I ordered my drink — and got a voucher for the second. The voucher is good for a MONTH!
The place is much larger than I expected based on seeing it from the street. Pool tables, games, a very large (and nicely stocked) bar — and an incredible patio! (Bar access from the patio, too — bonus!)
Generally, I am not impressed with the bathrooms designated for women in gay bars. It’s an afterthought, at best. The ladies’ room is clean, well-​stocked, and has a phenomenal vessel sink. I was so impressed with the sink, I grabbed my male friend and dragged him in just to share the beauty.
I am also not usually impressed with the service I get in gay bars. I get it, I am female — not the target clientele. At Bar 1, I get the impression they are truly open for business to everyone. I was served just as quickly and in the same friendly manner as everyone else. That may seem like a no-​brainer to anyone with business sense — but it’s not the experience I have had at other establishments.
I felt very welcome here — the crowd was laid back and friendly, the mood was good, and I can see Bar1 making into regular rotation quite easily.
Did I mention Two-​for-​one Thursday? :)

My usual is a Jack and Coke which used to be just under $ 5 on a regular day but now it’s $ 6.50 Wtf?
Any who… When I go to a bar I like to try new drinks off the drink list but, it’s Bar1 so I just tell the bartender what I like and they can usually throw something together for me.
Just a dive bar around the corner.

This bar is has a relaxed atmosphere. It is always clean. The bartenders are awesome!

Had a nice time here. Wasn’t very busy on the weekday night I was there. They had Karaoka — with some pretty good singers actually.
Very nice patio out back.
Bartenders were friendly and poured a nice drink at a nice price. Nothing special drawing me back, but nothing keeping me away either.

Great bar with both an excellent outdoor area and inside area. Perfect bar for professionals after work. Only down side is bartenders tend to play god with Touchtones with juke box and not allow paying client to listen to the songs they paid for online. When confronted their rationalization was bogus.

I met some friends at this place, it was my first time at this bar.
I liked the patio and the bartender seemed to appreciate our business. Always a friendly smile.
I wish the outside barstools weren’t anchored in it concrete though, it made it difficult for everyone in our group to have a seat at the table. There was no way to add another seat to our group.
Kind of a bummer.

Bar 1 is my version of Cheers. Friendly bartenders, chill atmosphere and best drink specials. 2−4−1 yes please!

Thank you Nate for suggesting the raspberry addition to our Bellinis! They made them even more delicious (if that is even possible) So why a three star review? This place is DARK, I mean seriously dark. If you were looking to do something naughty you could more than likely get away with in in this place as that is how dark the bar is. Even the bathroom was dark, however luckily there was a light over the toilet but still wow! But the service and the drinks were good soooo hmm yea… :) Did I mention dark? LOL!

This place has friendly staff, a great vibe, fun music, pool tables, outdoor patio, clean bathrooms, and good drinks.

Nice bar but they need to rotate the music videos (less 90s dance) more and have the jukebox allowed to play more in the evenings!

So Bar 1 holds a special place in my heart! I wished I lived closer since this would be a regular place I would frequent. The only reason Bar 1 has not received 5 stars is because their bathroom is horribly small but I do appreciate how cute it is. The bar service was great and the prices were even better. Although this bar is considered a gay bar I love how inclusive it is everyone. I have had bad experiences in the past but Bar 1 surpassed my expectations. The atmosphere is fantastic and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed both the inside and the outside areas. The pool tables were not over crowded for a Saturday night and everyone was so friendly. My only wish is that it was in my neighborhood! I will be going again soon and recommend it to anyone :)

I like bar 1! Especially on Thursdays buy 1, get 1 deal. Their drinks are already affordable, so we always save a ton when we go there. Calm but fun atmosphere. A dive but not sleazy and it’s clean!

I live way the hell out in Surprise, so I only get to this place every now and then or when I have to be downtown for something else. Every time I have stopped in has been a good experience. Bartenders are awesome, friendly, and know how to pour a great drink. This is my alltime favorite Phoenix bar, just above Stacy’s on my «must go» list.

I LOVE this place. Not pretentious, just fun. The prices are good and the bartenders are awesome! I come maybe four or five times a year now that I moved to the ‘burbs, but they always remember me.
The owner redid the ladies room, and it is much nicer now. The patio is comfy, and was also recently redone. Bar 1 is basically an upscale neighborhood bar that doesn’t act too big for its britches. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
