If only the service was as good as the food then this place could be 5 stars! The Mexican French toast paired with a spicy Bloody Mary hit the spot. Now if only we were able to get our water or drinks refilled. Didn’t have the best service last time we are here either. Too bad!

Ok first things first… airport restaurant… it’s all relative isn’t it? For an airport Mexican restaurant this is pretty good albeit expensive. I think the ratings are low because everyone feels so overcharged they leave feeling ripped off despite some decent to good food.

I am such a picky eater, not one thing I want to eat. Hope the soup is ok. Soup was ok, but small. I have to go find something else to eat. Didn’t get the $ 9 chips and salsa. Great service by Bacardi.

Come into Phoenix often for our layovers and travel frequently thoughout the country, so I’m absolutely familiar with over priced mediocre airport food. This place was a delight on my palate, the michelada mix was authentic and full of flavor, they had to have used ground red dehydrated chile in the mix and on the rim; totally worth having two! My wife ordered the green pozole woth a tomatillo base, I thought it was going to be tangy and water(true to airport style food) and I was absolutely wrong, the caldo(soup) was delicious, hearty and absolutely full of flavor; the prok was tender and garnishes were the cherry on top. I had the green chile pork burrito which was also really good, they top off the burrito woth extra green sauce which made it even better. Wasn’t too spicy which is normally a downfall for me but becauae the burrito and chile verde weren’t lacking on flavor there was jo need for extra salsa. For an airport restaurant this was and will be one of my top picks! I understand people complaining about price, but get over it, you’re in an airport and everything you buy past those tsa lines are going to be way over priced, so sit back and enjoy your overpriced beer and fairly priced airport meal. Our server was also attentive, friendly and brought us everything we needed before we even asked. :) happy airport hopping people

I don’t expect a whole lot from airport food, but this place is downright terrible. Especially when you consider the cost of the food! We were sat promptly, but the hostess didn’t bring menus(she seemed SUPER uninterested in her job), so when the waitress showed up a minute later, we were already frazzled trying to order drinks, but we made it. She took our drink order and thankfully gives us time to look things over for our food order. When our waitress came back with our drinks, she joked that she didn’t take a sip… ok…haha…but maybe she should have. My $ 10 original margarita was nothing more than water and lime. There wasn’t even a hint of a taste of tequila in it. My husband’s $ 14 margarita wasn’t any better. For the cost, I shouldn’t have to guess if the bartender remembered to put tequila in our drinks! We attempted to find out waitress so we could ask for our drinks to be remade. She was no where in sight. In fact, we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. Not willing to find out if our $ 17 tacos would be equally as bad, we left. If you want weird and not great service, and terrible and terribly overpriced drinks – this place is for you! Not sure how the food is… so eat at your own risk.

Ridiculously disappointed. Came to my favorite dining spot at the airport only to find that they don’t serve breakfast burritos. I am really!!! You are a Mexican food restaurant!!!

So a girl walks into a bar and orders a $ 15 margarita and a $ 12 serving of guacamole and chips… Let’s be honest here, if I knew that was the direction this story was going I probably would not have stayed, but it felt too awkward to leave after being seated and seeing the menu prices. The guacamole was fantastic with really fresh avocados but not worth $ 12. And I think if a margarita costs as much as high end eyeliner it should have several strong shots of tequila in it, which my drink sadly did not. The food was good but the price was hilariously too high. Service was just okay. In the end this place was just another overpriced airport meal… Girl left the bar disappointed.

Very pleased overall with the food and service. I had the bacon and thick cut bacon and it was delicious! The coffee is definitely a must have and was impressed with their attention to including the splenda at the beginning to ensure it was well dissolved. Overall a great quick stop for breakfast and I would highly recommend the coffee!

So understanding I have only been here one time, you cannot(or can. your choice) take my review as absolute fact. The menu was rather on the small side, and while I THINK I saw it on some tables, I definitely didn’t see it on the menu, and that is, chips and salsa. I dunno, maybe I have lived in El Paso for too long, but damn, chips and salsa? That’s not even something you pay for, that’s like automatic when you sit down… get with it Barrio. This is one of very few places to eat in this particular terminal, so yea. it was hella busy. But That is ok. We honestly didn’t wait that long, and had 2 hrs to kill. So win-win I guess. The menu was kinda small and kinda, I dunno how to put it, but it just wasn’t like El Paso. If you’ve ever been to El Paso, you understand that its actually North Juarez. So yea, cant really get more«Mexican» than the Mexican food here… since we are in México. Anyways… I ordered some tacos, they were OK. the tortillas was fried or cooked or whatever. kinda weird. They did have a bunch of tequila on hand, and many travelers seemed to be enjoying that. Here you go, here is where all 3 stars came from: The freakin double churro and ice cream dessert I ordered. O_M_F_G dude… so I ordered this dessert, it was basically 2(rather large) churros, with cinnamon and chocolate powder on top, with this inside made of melted caramel, they were HOT… and they sat on a plate next to a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and fresh strawberries. Now dude check it… I have had churros, from japan(yes they sell them there in movie theatres) to México, I have had some churros… THIS, this random kinda ehhhh spot in a terminal at the Phoenix International(Sky Harbor) Airport… was the best churro dessert I have ever had. Honestly, the dessert alone was 4 – 5 stars, but the rest of the place 1 – 2 stars so it evens out at like 3. I dunno, if you’re in Phoenix, and in this terminal, why not try it out? But then again, why would anyone(voluntarily) be in phoenix?

For an airport resto, this place rocks! On my recent layover I had an excellent breakfast. The thick-cut bacon was wonderful, my eggs were cooked to perfection and the potatoes had great flavor and crunch. They have French press coffee, which is pretty cool given the location of this place. Add a touch of top-notch service and an ice-cold beer, and this was the breakfast of champions.

This is an okay place near the D Gates in Terminal 4. I had a five hour layover at PHX so I thought I’d try it since a friend recommended it. I had flan and a strawberry frozen margarita. Both were fairly average tasting and a bit expensive($ 12 each). The booth was ripped in multiple spots and I waited 30 minutes after sitting down before someone asked me if I had been helped. Luckily I wasn’t in a rush. A plus, if you sit along the booth there are outlets so you can charge your phone.

Save your time and frustration! 35 minutes to get a cup of coffee and French toast. Aloof attitudes, slow service, cold food… Yikes!!! What a bad experience… again. I won’t make this mistake a third time and I fly 40x/yr.

This is a nice option with tasty alternatives to your traditional airport food but it is overpriced and service was slow. $ 16.50 got me half of an avocado on a small bed of greens with 4 small shrimp. Plus the menu said it was $ 15. It was tasty and a nice light meal for traveling. Service was slow which normally isn’t a good thing for travel but we had 4 hours to kill. I had to ask for dressing twice, my husband got the wrong side, and we asked for something we never ended up receiving. If you have a few extra bucks in your travel budget and time for a sit down meal, this is a good option.

Located in D gate Terminal 4– this place was packed on a Thursday late morning. My girlfriend and I were anxious to get the party started for our girls weekend so we were lucky to snag a seat right at the bar. I ordered the house Bloody Mary and she had a mimosa. My bloody legit tasted like chipotle in adobo! Talk about over powering. Eek! I hated it. Celine V’s drink tasted«soapy» Lol. Yup. The glass still had soap residue. Barf. We paid $ 26 plus tip for two shoddy drinks! Bummer. Pickings are slim for a morning cocktail in D gate terminal. I’ll just wait till I board the flight next time.

Except for getting my food order wrong and my drink order wrong, the food was good. I had the pork torta and it was well balanced with a decent roll. But, can’t give more stars with the inattentive server.

It beats the average Airport food option but Sky Harbor is not average, not any more. There are so many great local food options here and I wouldn’t say that Barrio is the best of them by far. They had some beer of draft so that was cool, just mexican beer though which isn’t very exciting. I ordered the Pork something Burrito which said it was Enchilada Style, with a side of Barrio Fries(only because my husband wanted fries). It’s kind of weird to serve Seasoned Fries with a Burrito but whatever. The Burrito was just Pork, nothing else, and it hadn’t even been filled all the way so there were gaps where filling should be and it was very thin for a Burrito. The Pork was fine, didn’t see or taste the Green Chilies mentioned in the description and the Enchilada Style consisted of a teaspoon of grated Cheese pathetically sprinkled on top. The Tortilla was so soggy and not in a saucy Enchilada sort of way, in a watery wet nasty kind of way. I ordered it to go so I couldn’t really say anything but next time I’m going somewhere else. There are tons of other really great options in this airport!

Today I decided that I’m going to eat at a place I’ve never been. I’m at the D terminal so checked this place out. Was greeted and seated right away. I just ordered water for my drink and that came pretty fast too. Ordered their«famous» pork tacos with seasoned fries. The food came in literally minutes so that’s great. Looked good and it smelled good. The fries came with spicy ketchup which was good but the fries were not crunchy on the outside. Seems like they have been waiting for me in the kitchen under the hot light. Seasoned? Deff not! I had to add salt. The«famous» pork? Not sure how bec there’s no flavor on it. I had to add salt and I don’t normally add salt to my food. It’s just that there’s no seasoning. I couldn’t taste the flavors described on their menu. The corn tortillas tasted like they just took them out of the package. They didn’t taste like they were even heated. The salsa was bland and by the way for a Mexican restaurant, they don’t have rice and beans. For $ 15, deff not coming back. The service is good and fast, hence the two stars but I’m not spending $ 15 on tacos that don’t have flavor.

Five star service from Rabecca thanks ! Breakfast burrito with two eggs and salsa. Top this off with a great Pinot noir wow that’s a meal. This airport really knows how to pamper it’s guests. Service in this restaurant is fast and friendly. Management is nice as well. This is a quality spot.

The airport can be such a drag. All the hot bodies, angry travelers and yelling children can be quite a buzz kill. We needed a pick me up before heading home. Popped into Barrio for drinks. We were seated in the middle at a small barish table. It was so hot and loud. We saw the exterior bar open up and asked to move. No problem. Ahhhh we were already feeling better. We had a great waitress who took cars of us the whole time. We started with a bloody Maria for me and a margarita for Derek. Followed with a 16 oz beer and what do you know, you can add a shot of Jameson on for $ 4. Yes please. Great break in between flights.
