Embassy Suites

Very outdated, furnishings at least 20 years old. Smells like a cheap motel. Can’t believe I am paying $ 179 a night.

No, No, No! No Star! I have stayed at Embassy Suites across the country and it is hit and miss but there is a basic standard of clean and the rooms may not be luxury but they don’t make you want to vomit either. This location made me want to vomit. The stairs up to the second floor where my room was located were filthy which was only a sign of things to come. Honestly, I could not even set my things down in the room. I called the front desk to find out if all the rooms were like this and was told «yes and you are in a renovated room». WTF!!! I checked out and went to the Courtyard a few miles back the way I came. This Embassy location did not even meet the basic standards of cleanliness or design of a Motel 6. Not good my friends. Not good. Garbage. A good review of this location is either from someone that did not make it past the reception area or is full of crap.

I’m staying in one of the newly renovated rooms and I must admit it’s very nice. It’s clean and spacious. It has a home feeling to it, like your in your own vacation apartment but with maid service. And the noon staff is very friendly, especially the older gentleman at the front desk with the gray beard and the bald hear cut. I’m in Phoenix 8 days out of the month so I’ve been looking for a place to call home when I’m hear and I think I’ve found it. This is my second time hear in the last 3 weeks and so far no complaints

The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because some of the internal staff really try hard — Rhonda being one of the high soots. I am a Hilton Honors member and travel extensively. This hotel is, by far, the worst presented Embassy Suites that u have stayed at. It’s appearance and rooms looks like an Econolodge that was converted. The rooms are disgusting and outdated! The staff at the front desk seem confused and do not really want to discuss the shortcomings — No curtains on the Windows, the mountable hair dryer lying on the counter, toilet paper rolls sitting on the floor, horrible smell in the lobby and my room. I will NEVER stay here again.

Don’t waste your money here go where there’s a heater that works in winter, cold at night, pay all that and freeze, they also regulate the shower water from Luke warm to medium warm… this place is a joke.

Rooms are old and need serious help. Beds and couches are uncomfortable. They force you to pay for service animals as pets. Stay away.

Horrible front desk customer service. Rooms are disgusting. Run down. Dusty. Smelly. Reservation was apparently cancelled by someone calling in saying they were me. But they had no proof of it. Front desk lady told us she is very busy and can’t help us right now, told us to wait a while.
Manager is helpful. But still — doesn’t make up for all the issues we are having. Not worth the money or the stay.

Our room was not clean. Before we went to bed we had actually asked if they could switch our rooms because it was filthy and they told us no. This is nothing like an embassy suites. More like a motel 6.
We took cold showers. The water didn’t drain right so we had to stand in dirty water. The sink appeared to have rust and caked on dirt and hair.
Our TV was very scratched up there was no point in using it.
The sofa sleeper was soiled so we really couldn’t use that to sleep on.
Our extra blanket had holes in it. Our curtains had stains on them possibly even some leftover food. Our door had food caked on it. It didn’t look like it had been dusted in years.
There were pubic hairs on the bed and the wall. The comforter and sheets appeared to have stains possibly just uncleaned messes. One of the pillows was yellow. One of the comforters had what appeared to be dried blood on it.
They told us when we booked directly that we would be getting two queen beds, but in reality we got two full beds. This barely fit the two couples and the child who were with us. The room had a musty/​dirty smell.
The renovations woke us up in the morning. We had to drive to breakfast because of all the construction. The bacon at breakfast was stale. Those little cups of cream or when we opened a couple they were actually solid.
Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

This was hotel hell!
Tthe bed linens, curtains, comforters and carpet all had stains on them. the bathrooms were dirty and the whole place was filthy.
Do not go here… stay away…

The hotel is under construction and should not be open. On a girls getaway headed to Sedona, AZ, but wanted to hang out in Phoenix for the night.
We had to drive around construction to get to our room. Then there is no working elevator so we had to lug our bags up a flight of stairs only to haul them back down because the room looked old and dark. They booked us in the part that is pre-​renovated.
We got moved to newer rooms only to hear banging in the morning from workers doing renovations.
No hot water!!! Cold showers really?! We wanted a snack before going out to dinner but the gift shop was closed at 3pm scheduled to oped again at 8pm. And no snack machine to accommodate in case the gift shop was closed.
The horrible old looking furniture in the first room we were in had been moved into the newer room. So renovated room but old ratty furniture. Stay some place else.

Walked in the lobby and was grossed out by the smell. Trash all over the parking lot. Read the Unilocal reviews and opted to cancel reservation, which they did without asking questions.
Don’t be fooled — not suitable for business travelers.

Last time we stayed here we got a very old, crusty room which was so disappointing.
We had many good stays here before that.
The grounds here are pretty and relaxing. Pretty pool in center of courtyard with jacuzzi.
Now they are renovating and things should be better when they are finished.
We look forward to staying here again some time, despite our last experience.
Nice staff — mostly.
Clerk late at night checking in not friendly. Grrr.
Awesome breakfast included.
The omelets, fruit and yogurt really good.
Happy hour in the evenings.

This review is for the events manager in charge of banquets. Last Saturday 8^th August, I attended a Hall of Fame induction banquet at your facility. Were you there? Did you see that every table without exception returned entire plates of food?
Were you aware that the silverware provided would not even cut the grey lump of garbage presented as prime rib? It was THE MOST DISGUSTING food experience I have ever had. Your chef could not even bake a potato! Most of them were inedible as they were raw.
For this I paid $ 40.00…wow! The saddest thing of all is the terrible waste of food. Plate after plate of untouched food went back to the kitchen as the tables were cleared. No one could complain as the speeches were underway and slide show presentations honoring the inductees were of importance. What a sad reflection on your hotel. Man up EVENTS MANAGER and return all money to the AZ Hall of Fame organizers. NO STARS.

Yesterday, after 6 days had passed, we finally called customer service because we had still not been contacted about the theft from our room. I do have to say @Embassysuites on Twitter did try to help me by forwarding my issues to the hotel and giving us a complaint number that was on file but that’s as far as it went. The manager still ignored us for days after that. Customer service took care of us! She was more than apologetic and did see we had filed a complaint and read that the manager had contacted us per the notes on file. Well he hadn’t. I am giving one more star than the last 2 reviews only because this was somewhat resolved but in the most difficult way with lots of deception and lies.

This was my first visit to this location I’m a diamond member and this was my first stay here. I travel all over the United States this is got to be the worst one of them all. First of all it’s a motel not a hotel. The rooms are very dirty or small the furniture is old. Like others have said the breakfast is great the reception in the evening is amazing the pool and courtyard or desirable but the rooms are disgusting the beds are old leaks in the ceiling. I’ll post pictures.

The only reason for this hotel to be a 3 star is the breakfast buffet, pool and courtyard, and the happy hour. Let me start with the breakfast! You have a huge variety of choices! Made to order omelets, fresh fruit, bagels, home-​style potatoes, sausage, etc. you name it they have it! A good breakfast is the way to my heart!
The pool a courtyard are huge and an awesome area to do many activities! From playing some sort of catch with your dog to swimming in the pool! there is plenty of room for just about anything. The pool area has an awesome outdoor cabana where there is a TV and bar. I think it is used of special event as far as serving drinks but it is a good place to converse with friends over some drinks from the inside bar. Which leads me to my next point, the free drinks during happy hour! Yes, FREE DRINKS! Along with fee drinks, they serve trail mix, chips and salsa, and sometimes nachos. When someone is serving free drinks, no way am I going to tell them no!
Like I stated before, this hotel only receives three stars because of the statements previously discussed! Other than great breakfast, pool and courtyard area, and great happy hour, this hotel is not very good. The rooms are outdated, and most the rooms air conditioning does not work. Which certainly is not good for the summer heat of Arizona. In addition, I have stayed there with some rooms infested with ants and stains all over the carpets!
So when staying here you need to decide if you can stand everything else besides the great breakfast, pool and happy hour!

PROS
Room was clean, and spacious. The hotel was affordable for our family of five. Its spring training week, so it was full. It was ok for the price, breakfest was included and it wasn’t to bad either. There was a lot of variety.
Cons
The last day we went to eat breakfest, there was table that had soiled vomit on one the chairs next to us. That upset my stomach and cut our breakfest short.
–The hot tub on day two… was not hot. Over heard a few elder people saying that this happens a lot. The hot tub will be nice and warm for 3 days and then be cold.
–We went to the front desk to get new towels, were told that they would have someone bring them to us that night. The next morning, there had been no towels, when we called the front desk to request towels yet again, the lady was short with us and didn’t communicate the amount of towels. HOWEVER… the toweles were delivered to us, not the amount, so the cleaning person had to get more which I felt bad for making another trip.
–when we arrived our room was not available for whatever reason, so we were given another room.

Not the typical Embassy Suites… I have stayed at Embassy Suites all across the county and have always had very nice rooms and great experiences. Because of my usual great experiences at ES, I booked this hotel for my wife and I’s honeymoon.
Unfortunately not this time. The hotel is old and not built like a usual ES. The rooms are set up in separate buildings across the property. Once inside, the room smelled old and funky, to the point that we went and bought plug-​in air fresheners. The furniture was old and broken.
The pool area needs to be cleaned as well. We used the pool late one evening. There was a pile of used towels and bandaid by the hot tub. The next morning, the same towels and bandaid were still there. Absolutely disgusting.
We quite frankly feel like we are staying in a two room suite at a Motel 6. We wish we could get our money back now and go to a nicer ES to save the rest of our trip. Never staying here again.

I normally have great stays at Embassy Suites. Not this one. My first room smelled like an ash tray and someone had clearly ejaculated on the guest directory book.
My second room, I didn’t even bother asking for another, had sticky carpet with trash on it. There was one heating/​cooling vent for the whole suite. There was no outlet within 10 feet of the desk. They used an extension cord for the lamp, and it was a two-​pronged cord that wouldn’t fit my laptop charger.
Just a peeve, but the maintenance and security carts were parked in the handicap spot nearest the elevator. And if that’s not enough, there’s a sign on the counter that all but calls guests thieves. Is this an Embassy Suites or just an overpriced Motel 6?

Holy freeway noise, so glad I only had to stay here one night. This hotel is basically an old motel fluffed to be an Embassy. 1980’s décor in rooms, hair in my sink, noisy fridge, no dead bolt or a security latch for door, dirty carpets, slow cable tv, many employees that don’t speak english, and desk staffer was less than understanding when I mentioned my findings. She never apologized for the hair in my sink or anything. $ 200 a night is way too much for what you get here.
