Payless Shoesource

I bought 4 pairs of shoes from this location totaling well over $ 100. Whatever. Fine. This review is about an attempted return at this store on October 24 2014. I lost, misplaced, accidentally threw away my receipt. I usually hang on to all receipts for just in case but this time I didn’t have it. I went in to this location (same location of said purchase around October 17 – 19 2014) and told the girl behind the counter (don’t remember her name but was thin and had short hair with dark on top and blonde-​ish color on bottom) that I didn’t have my receipt. Told me I could only get store credit. I’ve only had these shoes for less than 2 weeks. Price changes in shoes couldn’t have changed that drastically. I asked why then was I a rewards member if they can’t put my phone number in and do a return w/​o receipt? It should pull up my transaction for that pair of shoes. At least that’s what we do at my retail store for Rewards members. She told me that the rewards is only for coupons (of which I don’t receive being a «rewards» member and all). I said that all I wanted was my money back. I can’t wear their shoes because the wide isn’t wide enough. She kept saying that I could only get store credit but if I came back and still couldn’t find my receipt that I could come back and get my cash back. I said ok. So if I come back tomorrow and still don’t have my receipt you’ll give me cash? She says «No, store credit». «But you just said cash.» I said «fine whatever return them then. But I won’t be back to use my store credit. EVER». She then asked in an extremely rude tone where it was that I worked. I said «Like I’m going to tell you». I grabbed my shoes (of which were still in the box and Payless bag and still had the paper wads in the shoes) and headed to the door. She then says in a very rude condescending tone «Have a great day»! It took all of my being not to go back into that store. I was nice and polite. I did not raise my voice to her and was going to get my store credit (whether I liked it or not) and leave. This girl has now single handedly put a bad taste in my mouth for Payless Shoes. Bad customer service. Bad return policy. Horrible quality of shoes.
