DIVE: 1. v. To plunge into water head foremost; to thrust the body under, or deeply into, water or other fluid. (– let that fluid be the cool frothy depths of a big mug of beer or the shallow warm bite of a shot of rotgut.) 2. n. A place of low resort. [Slang] (– and let that place be Wild Bill’s Saloon.) _Dark yet friendly _ – while chatting, the owner(Chrissy, I think) made a point to apologize to me for having had to remind everyone a few minutes earlier to be sure they bought their 2 drink min. by the end of the night of free chip poker game. She offers a Sunday afternoon cash prize for the winner, which most venues don’t do, though, so she was justified making sure everyone played by the rules and got their drinks. She was running the poker game and her bar at the same time, and still managed to chat with everyone and play a few hands herself. _Small yet plenty of distractions_ – only a little bar area with a room off to the side with several tables(where poker was played) and a pool table or two, a claw game, i think a dart board or two, and one of those bar-video-games, and a fairly nice sized patio which seems like it’d hold plently of people for outdoor bbq or something when the weather’s nicer. There was a flyer posted listing various special events throughout the week. They do live music and karaōke as well as the requisite sports on tv and grisly old leathery faced drunk guy leaning heavily on the end of the bar to keep it from flying off into the sky. I tried to find a website of theirs to get more info about special nights like live music and karaōke. Their blurbs on GetOutAZ I found referred to their official website, so I clicked it out. WOW! I may have said more here in this review already, it’s such a sparse site(page, really). It’s funny though, and the simple sincerity of it is appropriate for Chrissy and Wild Bill’s Saloon so click it out. –
