SilverScript Medicare Part D

These people are friggin’ incompetent idiot time-​wasting SOBs. Multiple hour long calls, multiple long holds and transfers to someone else, each of whom had to start over and «research the problem.» Eventually they say there is issue with pre-​authorization but they are giving me a one time «over-​ride» so I can get the refill I need now. Pharmacy says no override given. Repeat. Same result. Repeat. Three separate SilverScript reps on 3 different calls told me the override had been granted. I would avoid this Plan.
The reason we cannot have some single payer, universal medical care system in this country is because when it’s proposed, insurance companies, drug companies, etc. unleash their billion dollar army of lobbyists and PR people to scare us into believing it would be terrible to have the Government run our health care. How can we possibly do worse than our current system, which is documented to be the most expensive system in the world with mediocre results.

This mail-​in pharmacy should be sanctioned. On a scale of 1 – 5, I give Silverscript mail-​in pharmacy a minus 20. This is the worst mail-​in service I’ve ever encountered. I called a couple weeks ago because it had not sent my full prescription in October. Since then, I have followed up several times, including a 2−½ hour call last week when I was transferred to several staff, including two pharmacists who acknowledged Silverscript’s error and asked the resolution specialist to send me the remainder of the prescription. I called a couple days later and was on the call for almost 40 minutes without a resolution. It is a week later and I called again this evening and was again on hold for 20 minutes, and there’s still no ship date. Sometimes I wonder whether these people put customers on hold when they go on break or take lunch. I am told the prescription is on hold, but that is a new prescription and I just want the one for which I’ve already paid. As an administrator, I’ve dealt with insurance companies over the years and have never had one as incompetent as Silverscript. My broker has called as well and has been unable to resolve this with them. I intend to warn employee benefits brokers about this provider and report it to Medicare. No one should have to go through this, especially since the error was made by Silverscript. If you are having problems with this company, Google the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization to find the address for your area, and register a complaint.

I would not even give them 1 star if it was not mandatory!
I’m not very happy with them. They have outright declined two of my meds and I just received a letter from them and they are starting to play games with me about another one of my meds (one I will probably take the rest of my life). I do not like it when a drug company tries to tell the Dr. what he can prescribe. It means they are putting their profit over my health.
I’m new to all this so this may be how it is with all the companies but as soon as I am able to change (next enrollment) I will be looking for a new med company.
They are barely paying more than my free RX discount plan as it is.

This company may have been contracted by the Federal Government to handle Medicare Part D Prescriptions, but I can get lower prices on medication by going to Walmart, Rite-​Aid, and independent pharmacies and price shopping, Walmart offers some generic medication for a 3 month prescription for $ 10. Buying that same medication through Silver Script is a $ 15 co pay. Silver Script started sending me bills for $ 32 a month starting in January 2014, even though I never signed up for their service and never bought medication through them. They wanted me to agree to have their monthly fee that I never agreed too taken out of my Social Security payment. I called their Customer Service and spoke to a Rep who apparently just got out of high school. No experience dealing with people. He told me «You HAVE to bill that bill». I told him I never used it and am not paying it. I sent a letter of complaint to their home office and they said they would «investigate» my complaint and make a decision. Right.
Google Silver Script Complaints. This company has overcharged Medicare people and when they were called about being over charged, the CS rep told them that it would take 3 months to get money back from Social Security. There are so many complaints about this outfit that they have been suspended by Medicare. Clearly a 3^rd rate insurance company.
Medicare made a mistake contracting these people. I can buy my meds cheaper myself so Medicare people are paying for those rude CS reps they employ. Next stop is my Congressman’s office.

I received a mailer for this company saying that «my 65^th birthday will be here soon, and I will be eligible for medicaid». The problem is, I am 28, not 64. I called the number on the mailer to be taken off the list, and I was on hold for 8 minutes, never talking to a human. I called the number on the website, and spoke to a rude woman who promptly hung up on me because I wasn’t a member. I then called the number on the flyer again, and spoke to a man who said «Its just junk mail, there is nothing I can do.» He gave me a different number, and that number happened to be for hearing impaired members. This company is spamming people who aren’t in their demographic and are completely unhelpful in correcting THEIR mistake.

Mediocre service. The customer contact line has one of the most complex menus to navigate through. The automated system requests your account number which it does NOT forward to the service representative. The representative I spoke with could barely be understood — very heavy accent. The formulary is poorly written. There is no customer logon to the web site. There is not automated contact connection.

Do not enroll in silverscript! I have had trouble with Silverscript from day one. Although I met my deductible they claimed they had no record of my drug purchases before June 1. I told them I bought from CVS (their sister company) and to check with the pharmacy for my records. They said they could not do that. Long story short: I am into October and still paying full price for my meds. Silverscript is the worst company i have ever dealt with. Please look elsewhere.

I complained to Silverscript about their false advertising. In response I got over 200 pages in three mailings of stuff I already had, and a letter that said, «Based upon our review, your grievance was due to your dissatisfaction with the level of coverage you have…» In other words, they drowned my well founded complaint in irrelevant paper. If you like idiot bureaucracies, you will love Silverscript. Just don’t expect them to do as they advertise.
