Beer was as cold as a witch’s nose! The burger was out of this world good too. The atmosphere was jovial, sort of what you would expect a real«Cheers» would be, except in the west, and instead of Norm there was this old timer named Mike O. who could impregnate your ears with a story if you asked him nicely. Great neighborhood bar. I’d like to try some of the other menu items but I’m afraid I’ll just keep ordering the burgers cuz they’re so good.

Not only was the burger absolutely juicy and delicious, but the chef himself came over to my table and asked how the food was. It was a great laid back and friendly environment. Even though it was my first time, it felt like my usual spot… and the sweet potato fries are excellent!

It was a random stop because we loved the Retro sign. Had no idea that within those doors lay the BESTDAMNPATTYMELT I EVERHAD!!! It’s a wholly local vibe, casual, friendly staff and cooks who know how to cook a burger to order. We will not only be back, we are going, to make it a regular stop and, recommend it to all our fellow burger conessieurs!!!

My husband and I went the other night. I got the sliders which came with French fries and he got the original wineburger. The regular burgers do not come with a side so it worked perfectly. Burgers do sliders had great flavor the the fries were amazing. Service was also very good!

Decided to check this place out. Lots of buddies tell me stories of childhood burgers so I wanted to experience their nostalgia. Burgers are cooked with a bit of red wine, fries were delicious, could’ve passed on the chili. Any where that serves rc cola gets high praise in my book. Could’ve used some sports on the tv while I sat at the bar but whatever soap opera or movie that was wasn’t terrible. Not my fav burger of all time but it was dang good.

Went there for the first time after recently moving to the area. Was recommended by the server to have the beer and burger combo. Can’t go wrong there. I got the Wineberger with ghost pepper jack cheese. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The Coors banquet beer on tap was cold and smooth and the food was great. We will definitely be coming back here. I’m glad that it’s within walking distance.

Thank you, my last review was slightly restrained and didn’t really speak my mind. I think you guys got the message and responded terrifically. The new buns are much better and the meat was like it once was, perfect. The Coors Banquet from the tap is a Phoenix staple just like the Original Wineburger. Good job trying to re-create the original bun. I think that will be about as close as it gets and you brought a big smile back to this old geezer.

Love the food, the atmosphere and the people! Personal recommendation: The Original Wine Burger with a fried egg on it.

Is this the best burger I’ve had, no but it’s very good. It’s kind of a sad statement of the local eateries where just being a good burger gets you listed as a go to place. It’s one very small step above a dive bar but worth the trip for a burger and beer.

I am a big proponent of The Original Wineburger and, I’m not going to lie, I fear it may some day become a very cool place. :Shutters: It’s a decades-old bar that bills itself as ‘the original husband day care’. Now, I’m no husband but I know a good place to camp out for a few hours and watch the game while enjoying some good ol’ fashioned bar food. The service is great and the establishment is clean. You can see they take pride in the establishment. In all, if you are looking for a place to escape the honey-do’s for a few hours on Sunday, TOW is the place for you.

This was our first time here. We took the light rail downtown to the NFL Experience and on the way home we were looking for something close to the light rail station and found this little gem! The burgers wee great, wings were good and Winey’s chips are a must have! Service was a little slow becaue they had a private party in the side room, but overall good dining experience. We will be back!

Good burger and friendly service. A dive bar that is clean and friendly. Not a large liquor selection. Malnly a beer bar.

Always love a Wineburger with mushrooms and Swiss. Pair it with some onion scoops and an ice cold Stella and that’s as good as it gets. Be sure to grab some extra napkins.

I’ve been passing this place for years and finally decided to stop. I usually end up getting the Wolf Pack Special(Wineburnger and Coors Lite) not that I’ve been there multiple times. It’s a great dive bar, nothing fancy, just good service and good food! The ghost pepper cheese wine burger is awesome! Last time in I has the Super(two patties) which was more than enough to hold me over until lunch the next day. Despite the construction it’s well worth making the trip to check out the Phoenix staple with memorabilia adorned walls and a great atmosphere for watching some sports.

I had The Wineburger with a fried egg and it was absolutely delicious! The meat is so juicy and I didn’t even need to add any condiments, which I typically need to do. It was a little hard to find but I sat the bar and really enjoyed my experience! The guys working behind the counter were great and made sure that I was satisfied.

I’ve never had the idea to pour wine on my burgers while I cook them. That’s just plain weird, but obviously these guys are on to something with a simple menu that works. Bacon and blue cheese are the best burger toppings ever, and I pity the fool who puts on garbage like *cringe* a fried egg. I didn’t order sides like fries, because those are the emptiest calories ever, and opted for something healthier… a $ 4 gin & grapefruit. Gotta get all my food groups in when I can. The alcohol selection is better than I expected. You can choose your spirit and your juice(but really my drink is the way to go), or some decent crafts, featuring lesser-known breweries like Montana’s Big Sky. While you’re at it, watch some baseball. Apparently this is also a Vikings bar during football season. There are more seats and a pool table in the back, but I’m not sure when that half is opened up. I’ll come back on a weekend and get that figured out for you, but until then, don’t pass this place up!

First time I came here they cooked my burger wrong, second time I came here cooked my burger wrong, 3 time I came here that was on 4÷6÷14 my girl asked for«well done» burger like how hard is that too make? Well they gave her a medium done. it’s like they don’t listen to the customers wishes that being said never coming back here to eat. On top of that when we were done eating my girlfriend said look there’s a cockroach! Yup a COCKROACH was walking on the ground right in front of our table I wanted to say something but my girl told me not to so I’m saying it here GROSS! Don’t eat here or eat at your own risk!

The place has been serving burgers and beers since the mid-60’s for a reason. It’s a Phoenix institution. Beers run from the like of PBR, to Coors Banquet, to Moose Drool — with a bunch of other offerings to please your palate and your wallet. Mugs, glasses, and pitchers are frosty. Burgers are super-tasty!(I usually go with mushroom and swiss). This is an old-skool bar that has a flat-top grill and a deep fryer. It also has the most comfy arm rests you’ve ever laid your elbows on, lining the bar; so belly up and order a wineburger and a brew. Note: They close around 10pm most nights — so don’t expect to hit this place up for a nightcap.
