I have been in to this store twice and both times the sales people aren’t all that friendly. Honestly I didn’t like either of their attitudes. More importantly, they really don’t have much of a selection compared to other furniture stores and the prices aren’t that great. Finally, if you choose not to buy that day you get this look that says«and don’t come back later».

Back in July 2014 my husband and I went to the Happy Valley Room Store location, Tyler greeted us pleasantly and then helped us pick out furniture for our brand new house over $ 10,000.00 worth. Initially things went well and we were pleased. Things were delivered and set up when we were told they would be. That ends the happiness. Our new kitchen chairs immediately had problems, the rungs were cracked and broken on three of the chairs and the screws would not stay in the seat part, no matter what we did the screws would fall out and that was with minimal use as this table and chairs is in a dining room not used frequently. To make a very long story short, after 11 phone calls to customer service, being transferred to everyone but the person you are trying to talk to, no mangers available right now, supervisors not being in at the time, emails to Tanisha who is in the repairs department with pictures of the broken chairs by the way never responded to any of them 5 to be exact. Calls to the corporate office with not one person contacting me back, promises from random people that are parts were ordered and they would call us when they came in, Tyler getting involved to no avail ETC. NOW here we are May 2015, still have broken chairs, Rooms Store did call last week to say the parts were in. but scheduling was 2 to three weeks out. Ugh. I think this has been the worst experience of my life with a well know furniture store. The people we dealt with were unprofessional and rude. Done with the Room Store. If I could give them a negative rating I would. We ended up contacting the manufacturer directly and they have been wonderful, parts are ordered and they will be sending out a repair technician the DAY they come in! WOW! We did find out through the attorney Generals Office there are agencies designated out there to help people like us. Consumer Affairs, Consumer Protection Agency and even the Attorney Generals Office, Don’t forget about the local media via news reporting agencies. We will be pursuing action through all of those avenues. Our chairs alone were almost $ 200.00 a piece. there has to be some kind of compensation or price reduction on broken merchandise. Bottom line. do not shop at Room Store they do NOT care about you after you spend your hard earned money there.

I thought I had a pleasant experience here, until I realized I was blatantly lied to. They were advertising their financing that was 90 days same as cash. It seemed like a great opportunity to update my couch without having to put such a large financial burden all at once. In addition, I was expecting my tax return soon. I reiterated to the salesperson to make sure we were on the same page, «I have 90 days to pay it off with no interest, and THEN they’ll start to do payments if I don’t?» And I was assured that’s how it works, I just had to call the financial company and they’ll set it up. The financial company in charge of my «lease» kept telling me they didn’t have my information quite yet from The Roomstore. By the time they finally did, almost a month later and way past the opportunity to return the furniture, I’m told a completely different version. The 90 day same as cash is a rushed payment plan that bills biweekly in payments that will pay off the full amount in 90 days. So buyers beware, whether you had plan on taking advantage of a this«great finance deal» or plan on buying with this company at all, just know they will completely lie to you just for a sale. I regret ever stepping foot in this scam shop.

I visited this RoomStore the other day in search for a bunk bed. The selection was very limited(2 choices) and the prices were ridiculous. The salesman was pushy and very«car salesman» style. I asked simple questions but he kept coming back with solutions. Expensive solutions at that! I understand it’s quality wood and all that but I could buy 5 Walmart bunk beds for the price of that one. Maybe I’m just frugal but I know what I want. This place gets 2 stars because of the salesman’s pushy attitude.
