Great simple food– nothing fancy, but we liked that about this place. Very friendly staff, generous portions. Definitely must try the homemade chips! Also I heard the burger meat is freshly ground and I got one and it was great. We also loved the ice cream shop that was hooked on to the restaurant. Great for a summer Saturday!

Close to home. My kids and grandson took me for Friday Night Seafood Buffet and Bluegrass/Gospel band. I liked the band. I don’t think that I made the right choices to eat. The family seemed happier with their choices than I was with mine. Lots of fried things. Salad bar not bad. Only iceberg chopped. Had some steamed shrimp I had to peel. They were okay but not very tasty. I’m used to Chesapeake Bay seasoning. Broiled fish was the best, but again not very tasty. I think I had some potato salad. There were too few vegetables — just broad green beans over cooked. Dessert was a favorite. Cake with frozen strawberries and a whipped topping, not cream. A lot on the seafood bar was fried and rather overdone and dry. One son liked the frog’s legs and gave me a bite. I liked it but didn’t see them on the buffet. I’m reluctant to do this again. Probably lunch would be a better choice. I did, another time, have an ice cream cone. It was butter pecan home made and loaded with pecans. Delicious!

We have been going to Aunt Sue’s for 15 years. Today we visited for the first time in a while. I don’t know what has happened but the experience was terrible. We waited 30 minutes to order a beverage, then another 30 for our lunch. The BLTs were bland. The toast was barely browned, there was no hint of mayo, one thin slice of mushy tomato, and a few scraps of burned bacon, not even a whole slice. I was supposed to get a reduction in my check since I did not want a side. That never happened. We did not get napkins or salt and pepper. I had to go inside to request these items and they had trouble locating salt. When the waitress did come around, she was very polite and apologetic, but it was not her fault. She had too many tables for one server. When my husband politely mentioned the poor service to the cashier, he was told«wait until tomorrow, it’s going to be busier». Have they not heard of adding staff? Aunt Sue’s has never been quite the same since the dear lady entertained us with her organ on the front porch but today was totally unacceptable. We will not be back.

We stopped by right when it opened at 11 on Sunday for the lunch buffet and let me tell you, southern comfort food! We all enjoyed the fried chicken it was hot and fresh and asked the friendly waitress to tell the chef hats off to him! They also had cherry cheesecake and strawberry shortcake that came with the buffet. The salad bar had plenty of topping to choose from! Would highly recommend you stop by for the lunch buffet! Will def will be coming back when we are in the area!

Dripping with Southern charm, Aunt Sue’s offers home cooking and friendly service. We went for the Sunday buffet. Fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy(and sweet tea) were all prepared like my mom and grandmother made them. Strawberry shortcake for dessert meant we were totally stuffed when we left. It was a bargain at $ 10.95. We’ll come back again when we’re in the Blue Ridge area.

Best«Fried Green Tomatoes» I’ve ever had! We split the portion FGT and still had a to-go-box to take with us

Good place to stop while driving down highway 11. They have lunch, dinner, and mayfield ice cream. Check their hours, they change seasonally. The food is hot and fresh though the staff gets overwhelmed when it gets busy. They’re quick to fix mistakes.

Lunch was AMAZING!!! We stayed at the Laurel Mountain Inn for the weekend to hike. It was our first time in the area and restaurants were scares. On our way out we decided to stop and we were happy we did. Even my finicky daughter who normally picks at buffet food got up for seconds. My husband had atleast two plates and we enjoyed the meal along with the hospitality of the employees.

Very disappointing :(. Came in to the restaurant at 4:30 and the hostess informed us it was buffet only until 4pm. ??? Got excuses about how busy they were but there was only two other tables seated. Finally got menus and it says buffet till 3pm on it. After waiting forever for our food it was mediocre. Very bland. The service was slow. Decided to get ice cream afterwards and there were only 6 choices. I understand how crazy weekends get at this place but maybe if you own it you should staff and stock accordingly. We’ve been coming here for 20+ years and are really sad to see it go so downhill.

O M G! Best onion rings ever! Loved the cheeseburger and homemade potato chips! Fries are ok too. But best thing to do is get half and half of rings and chips! Great southern hospitality and yes, food comes out slow but it’s made to order! Such a cute place and fueled the hunger well!!!

Absolutely the worst meal I have eaten in the area. Service was slow and rude. I know that this is a small town but a child could run it better.

We heard about this place from some fellow swimmers at table rock swimming hole. They said they had the Friday night seafood buffet. We were just in time for the build your own burger. It was the sloppiest, messiest, awesomest hamburger I’ve ever had! And you get your choice from the ice cream bar it comes with your meal! I had an awesome pralines and cream cone! Unbelievable! It is a very cool place, Like more elaborate and family oriented Cracker Barrel. Very cool hanging out on the porch on the rocking chairs. I highly recommend. We are already making an excuse to get to the upstate for a visit. It’s a hidden gem in SC!

Had a nice meal here after a day trip to Table Rock State Park from Atlanta. Couldn’t find too many choices in this area of the state, but stopped in(with a large group — 9 people) and we were all extremely happy. Food took a little while to come out(which was somewhat expected due to the size of our party), but everything was great and the service was extremely friendly. Would definitely stop by on a future trip to this area.

As a Texas native, I miss my local small-town institutions. Aunt Sue’s brought a little Texas back to me when I saw Blue Bell as the ice cream of choice. This Country Corner is way out in the middle of nowhere; it is located in a little«shopping center» in the mountains near the Foothills Trail. The Black Walnut was awesome. There were huge walnut chunks with a smooth, not too sweet flavor. They also offer an abundance of snacks, sandwiches and local paraphernalia. In the same center, you can also get some camping gear from Blue Ridge Outfitters, locally produced woodwork, soap, and glasswork. If you live in the Upstate, I would definitely make a drive out here. It is a good little road trip, and it definitely fits the title«country corner.» Be sure to drive during the day… there may be «banjo music» at night… definitely a mountain culture out here.
