Small library but with all the essentials necessities you would find at the much bigger libraries. Books, computers, printers, etc… The librarians are really nice and ready to help whether locating a book or assisting with any computer issues. My son was looking for a book and they did not have it, however she was able to locate it at the bigger library on Mines Avenue and called and had them hold it for us. That was super nice of her to do. They have different little events and craft days for the kids at different days so be sure to checkout their calendar and the good part is most of these events are free. Ample parking is available both in the lot or in the street. Their hours do tend to vary so do check their schedule.

Parent Café takes place the 3rd Wednesday of every month! :) Come learn about ways to do better for your family and to share your personal experiences with other parents. There’s coffee and snacks for you to munch on while your children are in the children’s area enjoying storytime and art activities! There’s also a new Toddler Storytime program that will take place every Wednesday morning at 10:30am from Aug 29– Sept 26! there will be play time afterward! :)

«Believe in children The future is in their hands Siempre Se Puede!» Need somewhere to take a young person or do you just need a quiet place to read? On the corner of Serapis & Burke near Slauson in the lovely city of Pico Rivera you will find the Rivera Library. The parking is ample since it is never crowded. It is open TTH10−8pm and Sat 8−6pm. Wednesday’s this month feature Storytime & Art activities and The Magic of Tony Daniels. They have a nice quiet environment with enough tables, chairs and a childrens area. The place his very small but it is usually not very crowded. The air conditioning is awesome here, almost as good as the Ralphs grocery store. They have a few computers for use including one which primarily features childrens educational games. The have movies for rent which include recent hits such as Salt and many popular children’s favorites. They have a calendar and various flyers in the front entrance. Near the door they have books and VHS videos for sale. I scored a great Calculus book for $ 1, it was from 1991 but it is more comprehensive than some of today’s books. Feel free to ask about the tutoring, when we arrived a young boy was being tutored. I will be back with nephews and nieces in the future or by myself to study when I am not in the mood for the coffee shops, college libraries and bookstores. «Believe in children The future is in their hands Siempre Se Puede!»
