I really wanted to like this place, reasonable prices for bbq… The first thing I noticed was how sticky the tables and the floors are. The two times we have been there the restaurant has been empty so you would think the customer service would better since there was no else to serve. Not once did they come and ask us how we were doing. On our last visit the meat tasted like they just added tons of BBQ sauce and they’re mashed potatoes taste like they were made from a box. I can deal with ok food but not dishonesty! Completely my fault I left my brand new pair of ray-ban sunglasses on the table, we drove off and I called not even 5 minutes later, they were already gone. Keep in mind there were NO other customers there.

I see this place all the time on my commute around town, and finally decided to try it. I was excited to try the food because classic BBQ is always a personal favorite. The food did not dissapoint. The meat selections varied from the essential tri-tip to pulled pork. They also had a selection of salads and succulent shrimp to choose from as well. The macaroni and cheese was underwhelming, and tasted like it was a blue box recipe. Now, even though the staple meats on the plate were great, EVERYTHING was overshadowed by the HORRENDOUS level of disruption coming from the side of the restaurant. There was a large group conducting a private event, and were viewing a broadcasted soccer game. Now, I’m a sports fan and I too tend to get nuts when my team scores but oh my God this group was a belligerent bunch of fools. Their level of loud was so inconsiderate that my party had to eat in silence because we at one point were shouting across the table. You know how far I was from my sister at the table? A foot. 12 inches. She could NOT make out anything I was saying because the group separated by a flimsy wall was so loud. The food was served relatively quickly, which was a plus. HOWEVER, the server who brought us our beverages and food never checked on us throughout the duration of the meal. 20 minutes or so into my meal, someone in the belligerent group decided to turn on an amplifier and began to toy with a microphone connected to said amp. That was enough for me to throw in the towel. I left food on my plate and didn’t even ask for a Togo box. When I settled the bill, the server who failed to check on my party didn’t even ask how my experience was, or if I even enjoyed the food. I guess she really didn’t mind if we enjoyed our experience or not. I inquired with her as to who the group was and she said it was a private party celebrating a First Communion. I was asking her if it’s a common custom to have such a loud party, and she didn’t answer me. She handed me my receipt for me to sign. So I did, and left. I highly doubt I’ll be back to this establishment.

Best carnitas tacos in town! Place is not much to look at from the outside, but inside is some great hole in the wall cooking. I’ve tried very little here since the bbq is light on portions and their carnitas tacos are so damn good. heaping pile of hot, juicy, smokey pork, cilantro, chopped red onion topped with a mild salsa verde. Just excellent. Prices keep jumping which is annoying. A can of Coke has jumped from $ 1 to now $ 1.50, liter of Mexican Coke is now $ 2.50. $ 0.50 charge for debit card. Family who runs the place is very nice. It has a bar feel, pretty clean but I did brush up against meat stuck to the wall on my way out just now. But that won’t keep me away. That’s just part of its charm haha.

Amazing bbq! Prices ok… portions are small. Other than that the flavor of the food is great.

Food was ok, but had these negative complaints: when the menu shows a picture of a soda cup that’s what I expect, instead a received a can of coke with no refills(obviously). If you are going to charge me $ 1 to use my debit card, you should probably tell me first and give me the choice to use cash. Between the lack of free refills and them charging me to use my card I will not be returning to this business.

I was looking for a good BBQ place thru Unilocal and found Mr BBQ Grill. Gotta say i just found my new spot! Paid about $ 50 for 4 people. I had bbq ribs, tri tip and pulled pork. Meat was tender and really good flavor! Not a huge place, cozy and great service.

Great BBQ! Finally a place close to my hometown w decent BBQ. 1st of all this place isn’t super fancy — it’s clean and guess what? They serve BBQ. BBQ tends to be messy, everyone knows that. As far as the price goes, their platters are the best deals on the menu — if you are rolling w four peeps of more. Large platter included BBQ chicken– ribs– corn– pulled pork — and four side dishes. We also ordered the cilantro lime wings — great taste and they are not the microwave kind. I have ate almost every type of frozen wing available at supermarkets, Costco, and Sams Club and Mr. BBQs are not microwaved. Microwaved wings tend to be more chewy– these wings are not. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Owner and staff were very attentive and nice. Here is the cherry on top: They have Dodger Baseball! Will be back soon.

i went in there earlier today to give this great looking place and was not disappointed. Its a medium size place but comfertable with lots of TV’s in either room you are which is the best. Watching the Dodgers game and some beer was great. well, we walked in and were quickly greeted and were seated, nice atmosphere. I ordered the chili cheese fries because I wasent that hungry at the time but wow, it is not your typical chili cheese fries. these fries were fried but were more crispy and the chili was great. my gf got the carnitas tacos and loved it. although i was not there for a very long time i will for sure be back when i have more time and enjoy a full meal.

A Pico Rivera restaurant was the only restaurant in the Whittier area that was temporarily closed last week due to a major public health hazard. Mr. BBQ Grill, 8139 Telegraph Road, had its health permit suspended March 17 for a cockroach infestation, according to a report from the Los Angeles County Public Health

Good food. Good service. Good prices. :) Texas pulled Pork Sandwich is delicious! I asked for cole slaw instead of fries and the cole slaw was sooo good.

Ok I’ve been eyeing this spot for months. I’m never in this area when I’m with my wife so I never get the chance. We went to Chris and Pitts but it was closed. Wonder why. Any who, as soon as the door opened the waitress says eating in or out? Kinda shocked and a bit surprised that we were approached so quickly. Ok um. Here. We replied. We had no intention on take out, wanted a full BBQ experience. I have to be honest this is not going to be a good review. Dirty tables or at least tacky/sticky. I was wearing my white Miller Lite Jacket so it definitely made things uncomfortable. The place was empty when we walked in and at 7 pm a good place to eat should have a few butts in the seats. As I said before i was anticipating coming here but once here I was disappointed just as we walked in; I looked at my wife and said do you want to leave? We stayed but decided to just order a drinks and appetizers. We ordered a mixed wing plate and chicken fingers. So to be 100% honest this tasted like very average store bought frozen food, I will say they had some interesting combinations like cilantro lime chicken wings but I could tell that they were microwaved and the chicken meat was bland. While we waited for our food I noticed our waitress putting on make-up. No problem you need to freshen up well not on a stack of plates and not in the kitchen area. I posted a Picture. I drank my miller lite, paid our bill and left our leftovers. Disappointed… Unbookmarked. I had to add the positives and why they get more than 1 star. After a short while there were people coming in. All seemed like locals and seemed more like a dive bar for a minute. The décor and multiple tv made it cool for a sporting event. It was a combination of things that made it a poor review. I can always forgive 1 or two shortcomings but 5 or 6 sorry. Maybe they are good, I don’t know but for me this time 1st impressions last. I guess I’ll never know.

Nothing was horrible about this place but definitely would not come back. I stopped by for a quick lunch $ 23.37 for a pulled pork sandwich a side of Mac and cheese and a michelada. The food tasted like the premade crap you buy at the market and the Mac and cheese had NOFLAVOR. $ 8 for a michelada is crazy I’ll stick to making them myself. Way overpriced. Service was ok only reason for the 2 stars and that’s being generous

This Place was great Food, Great Prices. Outside area looks a little sketchy but once we walked in it was well lite clean and decorated restaurant with very friendly staff. $ 6 for 22oz Draft beer they have modelo, shock top, budlight, Hefz. I ordered the $ 12.99 Pulled pork, Ribs, Tri-tip combo plate. It comes with two sides, i chose potato salad and french fries. The food came out super fast with a smile. The potato salad was not bad but it was nothing special. The fries were really good though, had the texture of curry fries but straight, Yum! I usually like my Tri-tip medium rare, but they cooked it well. keep that in mind next time you order. The Ribs and pulled pork meat was soft, savory, and delicious. The waitress also gave us a side of spicy BBQ sauce which had a mild kick that was finger licking good: D Overall a great experience and ate like a king and was super stuffed. Would come back again if i was in the area.

There was nothing awful about this place but nothing makes me want to go back to this place again. Their barbecue was a tad bit dry for me and their sauce wasn’t very flavorful. The meat on their ribs wasn’t quite fall-off-the-bone enough for me. Brisket was not very tender. I ordered the $ 12.99 three combo plate with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. It accompanied two sides, french fries and corn on the cob. Despite the lackluster flavor of the barbecue, it was quite a lot of food for $ 12.99! I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you have a really deep craving for some American barbecue.

I probably will be repeating much of what is already said by other reviewers, but oh well! Pico Rivera has a ton of Mexican food, every burger joint you can think of and even some good Chinese food. One thing you do NOT think of when visiting Pico Rivera is BBQ. We have a few Chris and Pitts in the area but if you like BBQ and you respect your digestive system, you stay away from there at all costs. Johnny Reb’s is good but the closest one is over 10 miles away. So what is a Pico Rivera Local to do? MR. BBQ Grill of course! I have never ate here before but decided to give it a shot. Is it the best BBQ in the world? No, not close. But is it good? Yes it is. I use to eat BBQ all the time and this is right in the middle of the pack. Better than most restaurants but not quite as good as some mom and pop places I have been too. Our waitress was amazing. She was so good, she earned herself a 25%+ tip. She was attentive but not overbarring. She was happy and polite but not cheesy and since she knew we were new, she helped us decide on what to eat. The sharing platters are good. The small one was great for two adults. It is almost like a sampler though. Ribs are small and only chicken drumsticks. The portion of the pulled pork is small as well. But, with bread, four sides and having a handful of each item, it is worth it. Less than $ 45 for two draft beers and a small platter. We didn’t leave with a lot of left overs but we were content. There was a gentleman there, either manager or owner. He was really nice and talked to us about the food and how things are made. All in all, I will be back. If I am dying for«best of the best» BBQ, I know I need to put some time in on the 605 Freeway. But if I want a nice BBQ joint to hit the spot one night, this is the place. Prices are good, food is good and service is great, what more can you ask for?

Came in for lunch with a client and was fortunate to find parking on the street. The establishment is split into two separate rooms — a bar area and a dinning area. Well decorated and clean with an extensive variety of different items from burgers, Mexican cuisine and BBQ to select from. Our younger waitress who work here for only two days wasn’t helpful at all in suggesting entrees but was up front about it. I played it safe and ordered the tri tip lunch which included choice of one side, which I opted for pasta salad. It also came with slices of toasted bread and a small green salad. The tri tip was tender, moist and flavorful. The portion was generous and along with all the sides made for a satisfying lunch. My client also enjoyed his pulled pork lunch. The dinning area was filled by the time we departed. It seem like they have a good following of locals that enjoy a cold beer with lunch. I’d return again in the future for the fair prices, good quality and convenience.
