Absolutely love norms! Come to this location and also West Covina often day or night and I’ve never had any complaints. So this review is ONLY for the«security» guard who has no type of training in customer service and was probably raised with no manners either. Came late night(9:30 pm) on grad night with a party of 12, it was SUPER packed no place to sit or even stand so some of us(4) waited in the EMPTY outside patio area. Then their security guy rudely comes up to us and says«YO, you need to get outta here now, get out, people are gonna be seated». One… you don’t ever address people as «yo». This is a family restaurant where people come to eat, not a club or bar to be harassed and treated that way. I was literally so furious! There is a right way to talk to people maybe using a PLEASE at least. If it was up to me I would have left but again we were a party of 12, would’ve been such a hassle to try and figure out where to go and everybody drove separate also. And also to top it off as we were leaving he wants to stare ME down as he’s talking to some guy on a bike smoking a cigarette. Ughhhhh so ghetto!!! Love norms but I will not be disrespected like this by some nobody ever again. I wont be returning to this location sadly or our party of 12. Anyway food was good. Our sever was great. West Covina it is next time…

I usually really love Norms but this is like the third time I come here and it’s just not working for me. The pancakes are horrible!!! I always look forward to the pancakes but at this location they are so dry and hard. They should really get the pancake recipe from the norms in Pico Rivera. You might have to drive more and wait longer at Pico Rivera but it’s worth it.

Well my husband and I went there for dinner only to be grossed out where we were sitting we could see the cooks preparing food without gloves touching many different things including there face handling food with there bare hands I asked the server if the cooks should be wearing gloves only the get a smart ass answer. She said(I don’t know I’m not a cook) as we were paying the bill a sloppy looking manager was standing there talking to other employees I tapped her on the shoulder and asked her the same question only to be told so rudely our cooks don’t have to ware gloves per the health department and then turned her back on me continuing to talk to her staff. Well rest assured we will not be back and I will be informing the health department.

It was Norms… not much else to say. But it was Grad night, 10:00pm(thanks a lot El Rancho HS for the lousy 7pm-9:00pm Grad program… Most restaurants were closed already) and it was packed, so maybe I should give them 3 stars for having a crowd. Chicken Alfredo was ok/good. They have a good ranch salad dressing. I didn’t care for the brown gravy they use on the mashed potatoes.

Up until this visit, I absolutely, positively, was not a fan of NORMS! And let it be known, I’m a big fan of Diners! I’m all about Carrows, enjoy going to Coco’s, I’m not the biggest fan of Denny’s but prefer it to Norms. But I was housesitting in the area and very hungry and it was just convenient to come here and eat at the counter. I try to maintain a paleo lifestyle and feared that I wouldn’t be able to find anything one the menu that was both healthy and tasty. Luckily, NORMS has a healthy selection part of their menu. I ordered steak and eggs. The steak was cooked medium rare, like I ordered — and it’s rare that you can actually get a rare steak nowadays! I substituted regular eggs in stead of the egg whites and the plate was served with tomato slices. Overall I was impressed with the taste of my food. It’s hard to enjoy a dish like this when all you want is breakfast potatoes instead of tomato slices but they do a really good job of keeping the dish tasty and healthy. The service was also really great and fast. This visit definitely assured that I would not be opposed to going to NORMS in the future.

Showed up just before 9:00 am no wait was seated quickly. Our waitress was named Angie was very friendly and attentive. Ordered the Bigger Better Breakfast with some minor requests received promptly and to my satisfaction. Breakfast was very good as well as the service. I do recommend.

I ate lunch at this Norms in Pico Rivera, CA on 3÷24÷2016. It was my 1st time there. The place is huge but we still had to be placed on a waiting list because it was so crowded. Still, we had good food and good service(my friend paid for my meal). Plus, I took photos.

I’m not quite sure why people think so ba about this place. I’m a kind of a norms fan. I think overall they are consistent with their food and their service is usually pretty decent. We came here for breakfast before golfing and got seated immediately. I was a bit taken away by how nice and new the place looked! Most Norms restaurants are half beaten up, outdated, semi decent looking. This one looked like they just renovated! Our waitress reminded me of an old dinner waitress with a bit of an attitude. Not a bad attitude… Kinda like what you would see in a waitress from an old movie type of attitude. She was cool though. Got everything right and quickly. Was on the ball about refilling coffee. I ordered a Belgian waffle with strawberry topping and two eggs. I think the eggs kinda over did it for me, but still tastes good. I honestly don’t know what people’s beef is with this place, but I had good food with good service. I would recommend trying it out…

Esta bueno pero tiene unos detalles que a lo mejor pueden componerse como el café esta frío y sus cubiertos no están bien lavados

great food. Except when I ordered take out. I kept asking the staff behind the counter if my food was done yet. All I ordered was the New York steak and eggs with French toast. I waited 1HOUR!!! I didn’t even dine in. I got the simple take out so I wouldn’t have to wait longer to dine in. But 1 hour!!! Come on norms.

Alright folks, let me explain to you how the meat scale works. There’s rare, medium burnt, burnt, well burnt & I hope they don’t notice this burnt. Mind you, the stars were for the customer service & that’s it. Came in on a packed day & like I said, I try to be understanding. I love my steak. I mean I would never give up steak even if it killed me but every bite I took of this particular one was worst than the last. The top looked fine but when I flipped my steak, it was burnt, giving it a very bitter unpleasant taste. I was pretty disappointed but I wasn’t waiting on another steak so I just sprinkled on he sodium & swallowed it whole. Now this doesn’t mean I wouldn’t come back & nor am I telling you not to try this place out but hopefully this doesn’t happen again.

I am sad to say that this norms became one of the worst since its opening. The service was bad and the waitress had a two face attitude. I was there on Monday night with my girlfriend. We ordered a breakfast plate that included eggs, sausage and pancakes. I asked for the eggs over hard, got them back over easy. Asked for hot chocolate and got a watered down chocolate drink. When I brought it up to the waitress she made a stink face. The only thing she said before leaving my table was«the machine that makes hot chocolate is broken, theres nothing I can do about it» How did she know it was broken if she never left my sight? I call lazy bs on that one. I will not be returning to this location ever. I do not recommend it. Stay away unless you want something to come out wrong.

All I have to say is that when a server makes your visit feel like you are the only one here, deserves a 5. Marcus was great. Wish I could be served by him all the time. I have my regulars but he just makes things happen without a question. On a side note, great place to get your fill at any time of the day or night on freshness. Enjoy and if you come to Pico ask for Marcus as your server.

This is one of the newer Norms within a 25 mile radius. It doesn’t feel as big as some of the other locations I have been to and it seems like whenever I try to come here for breakfast, it’s always packed! What I do love is the new interior and the huge parking lot. There usually isn’t too much of a problem looking for parking. The specials are not as good as they used to be but there are still some $ 5.99 specials that are good. FOOD: Sirloin Steak + Eggs — my dish of choice whenever I am here for breakfast/lunch/dinner. While the steak quality isn’t top notch it also isn’t over priced at $ 8.99 — It comes with two eggs, hash, toast or pancakes. The pancakes are SO soft and fluffy, definitely recommend if you are looking for something light and delicious. SERVICE: While I was here, it seemed busier than usual. The restaurant also seemed understaffed so it took us ten minutes to look for a waiter/host to bring us a to go box which was kind of annoying. I would advise the restaurant to make sure they are properly staffed because there were many other tables just waiting to order or waiting for to go boxes.

I don’t remember the last time I went to Norms. I only remember going to Norms once and I was disappointed. Long story short… never came back. This particular Norms is still nice and new. French toast, 2 eggs & bacon($ 8.69): my French toast was undercooked for sure. I asked for extra crispy bacon and only half of the bacon was crispy. My plate was super greasy! The OJ was okay, but not fresh. The waitress was very nice. 2 stars! Now I remember why I never went back to Norms. Norms is not yummylicious!

The Santa Monica Norm’s is no more. RIP, my dear dear friend. In this world, greed almost always wins, and karma isn’t reliably reliable enough, so I’ll take my chances with being a «person of faith,» as I’m annoyingly referred to. I’ll have to ask some of my black and brown friends whether they find being referred to as «people of color» similarly annoying. I’m glad this Norm’s opened even though it’s an underwhelming Norm’s. Why am I glad? Because the 76 gas station that used to occupy this plot of land back in the day was straight up shady. It wasn’t dangerous, and there were never suspicious characters lurking, but there was some weird fake problem they would have with their credit-card machines, and on at least a couple of occasions I got overcharged. And then this one time my credit-card got stolen and used repeatedly here, but when I tried to get any information about the people who had used the card or why the attendant had allowed them to fill up three or four huge gas tanks in quick succession without signing for the purchase, I got the run-around and eventually got yelled out of the gas station. OK, jerks. You deserved to go out of business, and I hope it was as painful and dispiriting as going out of business can be. Back to Norm’s. It’s got lots of glitzy pseudo-authentic charm that actually feels pretty authentic. The service is good. The food is Norm’s food. It’s not bad and it’s not great, and it’s still a pretty good deal even though it’s no longer a deal. You get the deal? If not, you’re going to have to learn how to deal. They could have done a much better job designing the space. It’s huge, but it’s underutilized. There are too many posts and half walls and other architectural oddities. No newly built architecture can be truly Googie, just as no newly built church can be truly Gothic, but there’s Neo-Googieism and Neo-Gothicism that’s pretty darn authentic-looking. This Norm’s? Not so much. To review: I’m glad it replaced the long-dead gas station. It’s OK. It could be better.

Standard breakfast here. The pancakes are average, I would not say they’re spectacular. The food is decent and inexpensive. This Norms seems new and nicely decorated. Service was extremely slow.
