Michael is a total professional and makes it easy to visit. He will guide you through the process and be up front with you. He’s been here almost 4 decades and is one of the best dentists in the Bay Area.

Dr. Michael Scollard is hard to describe. If he had not become a dentist, he might have become a Porsche mechanic, or a rabbi. Only he’s not Jewish (his wife is) he’s of Irish decent. He insists on working in gold. He takes time to get it right and he wants his work to outlive you, however old you are. He talks a lot. He wants to get to know you. You can add a half hour to any appointment for chatting. He loves musicians, artists, writers, and creative people, of which he is one. Go to lunch with him, and everyone on Piedmont Avenue seems to know him.
He is not for everybody. His office is state of the art circa 1979. It needs revamping. He has no assistant, not even a receptionist. He does not use a computer. His waiting room is messy, with hundreds of books and magazines. No need to go to the library. Perhaps he did not shave today. But you will not find a more dedicated and conscientious dentist in the whole Bay Area.
