The Inn on the River

Great hotel! Will definitely be back! Great location, clean hotel, friendly employees, great breakfast and we loved the free nightly popcorn and sweet tea and hot chocolate

We stayed here on our first trip to Tennessee. It was in a great location with lots of restaurants, shops, and attractions near by. Only about a 15 min drive to Dollywood and the Aquarium.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was more than just toast an fruit and was continental. The only downside was that they didn’t have a fitness center; however they do offer a pass to the local fitness club for guests but it is an extra $ 6.50 charge per day. Overall, the stay was great and we can’t wait to come back.

I was delighted at how clean this hotel was. I did the now a day mandatory check around the room /​under the sheets before I brought our stuff in but all was clean.
The staff was very nice and the free breakfast was wonderful!
My only negative comment was the indoor pool… it was pretty cold and looked like updating it would be a smart thing to spend money on.
Overall…VERY pleased! We will be back!

Another outing that starts with…“so, we had this groupon”… We bought two of their groupon specials to combine for a long weekend, which was four days and three nights in a room with a Jacuzzi, fireplace, balcony, and king bed. We had no problem scheduling, which is always a concern with groupon.
The room was quite large and very clean. The Balcony had a beautiful view of the mountains, and of course the river. It was lovely to watch the sunset just wish they had more comfortable chairs out there. There lobby is warm and inviting that it made me actually want to sit there. I’ve never had a desire to just sit in a hotel lobby and watch people but here I actually wanted to. Their morning breakfasts are amazing. They have excellent biscuits and gravy and my daddy was from the south, so I know biscuits and gravy. I also loved the evening popcorn they made. Also, I couldn’t get over how nice the staff was. Maybe it’s a southern thing but the were always smiling and super talkative to people at breakfast.
If I had to saw one negative thing it would be that their Jacuzzi are not super comfortable and the jets never hit in the right spot. They are not positioned to hit key areas like the upper and lower back
Just thinking about the great time we had makes me want to go back!
Tips:
1. If you’re not interested in the all the super touristy things and want to avoid crowds go the week before Christmas. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were almost like ghost towns, which we enjoyed because we could drive anywhere in minutes and didn’t have to deal with crowds at the Gatlinburg mall or aquarium.

I’m staying here right now and getting ready to check out in the next two hours. ;) We came here with a Groupon that I had bought a million years ago. We are loving our stay so far!
When I first made my reservation, I was scheduled to stay in December. I don’t even remember what happened, but something came up and I asked the manager if I could change my reservations to February instead. She said that would be fine. Well, my boyfriend’s father died in February so we were not able to go. I called again and asked if I could change the reservations to sometime in May. They said that they can gladly change it, however, I will not be getting the Ripley’s tickets that came with my Groupon and I also would have to pay the difference between my Groupon and the actual price. Well, once I got here, I was still able to get my riverside room with four Ripley’s tickets! I did not pay a cent extra.
Their customer service is awesome. The people at the reception are super helpful. They have popcorn at night and a decent breakfast in the morning. The room was very clean. The pool was clean as well but I think the jacuzzi area could be a little cleaner! The room even came with Free WiFi which was a pleasant surprise. Their toiletries are from Bath and Body Works which is amazing. They are so thoughtful that they even put in some make-​up removers (I always seem to forget these when I am traveling!).
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back when we’re in this area again.

After a horrible experience with one of the cabin companies in the Gatlinburg area, we tried to check into a Marriott, but they were completely booked except for one room that didn’t fit our needs. They recommended this place to us.
The service here was GREAT. The front desk guys were super funny and checked us in quickly and efficiently.
Our room, on the other hand, only had one issue. Our beds and seating areas were great and clean, but our bathroom sink and wastebin was dirty. We checked in after 11pm because our aforementioned ordeal, and we were too tired to change rooms because the Inn is actually spread into two buildings which are connected by the ground level pool area (and each building has a separate elevator and the other available room was in the other building). They sent someone up to clean our room and he came up within 5 minutes of us calling. He apologized for the mess and that was over and done with. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen in places and that people can check in and move rooms (and use the restroom without letting the front desk know, etc) and that it was not the front desk’s fault that the room had needed cleaning. What impressed me the most was the attitude that the workers had and the speed at which they corrected the problem. It would have been a ⁵⁄₅ star experience had it been perfectly cleaned.
All-​in-​all, my thoughts of the place are that the rooms here are not super luxurious or lush, but the beds are comfortable, the linens are clean, and the workers are friendly and quick. They also give a AAA discount!
