Stopped in while traveling for a quick bite to eat. Was a little nervous about a dinner beside truck stop, but It want to bad. Had a monte crisco sandwich on French toast a little bland but filled the hole. Employees on cell phones while customers wait is unacceptable! There is always something that needs to be done in a restaurant put down cell phone and go to work.

This is basically a truck stop with everything that goes along with that style of diner. My service was very poor but I noted that others received better service. I walk in with another gentleman. He was literally eating before my waitress even took my order. Once my order was taken things moved along. Although I did have to take my cup to the counter to get a refill. Food was good. Portions were good. I finished at least 10 minutes ago and am still waiting on my check and a to go box. I’m staying at he Hampton Inn across the street or I would have gone nuts on someone by now…

We had breakfast here and were very happy. Pancakes were delicious, true buttermilk. Bacon was perfect, pork roll was not John Taylor but decent and very tangy. My son scarfed the scrapple. My wife liked her omelet and the home fries with onions were good too. A very informal hometown atmosphere. Our waitress sat at the table across from us during a break and chatted with the people she was waiting on. A girl with a baby who was eating breakfast with her sister stopped in the kitchen to talk with the cook. Don’t expect fancy and you will be very pleased.

Hanging outside is a sign stating Hot Food|Cold Beer… apon entering, I really liked the 1950s look and old school feel of this Diner… The old DC comic book pictures hanging on the back wall caught my eye and Right away I was reeling with excitement… The menu was nicely laid out with big bold lettering… this didn’t prepare me for what was to come next. The Food… Dear God, the food was terrible. I ordered a Moon Shine Burger with sautéed onions… it was horrifyingly bland and tasteless and the tater tots were overdone. If I wanted cardboard with a side of wood chips drenched in ketchup, I would have fished it out of the trash. Service was okay but what good is OK service when the food is so crappy. I even went so far as to stopping at the travel center next door for an Orange Julius, and an Auntie Anne’s Cinnamon pretzel to get the bad taste out of my mouth. What a disapointment.

Clean, well lit. Perfect for a long road trip. We had the burger and a rueben. Both were tasty and came quickly. Reasonably priced.

Ok place. The service is great very friendly and check back offten. The portions are big you get what you pay for. Not home cooking or any chef prepared tasty stuff.

A diner only had a burger & wife had a BLT w/fries. Staff was friendly and food was hot. Considering it’s off 81 it served the purpose for a quick lunch! The place was slow and I think it would have been a great time for employees to sweep and mop a few sections of the floor! Definitely needed a cleaning!

Basic comfort food. My husband and I both had hot roast beef sandwiches with fries and gravy. Perfect size portions. Tasty. As my husband said«it’s not going to knock your socks off, but it’ll do the trick.» My son had grilled cheese and fries. They also serve breakfast all day. Definitely a good option if you’re tired of fast food or sitting in construction traffic.

Service was very slow, food was awful. I ordered the special which was a smoked sausage omelet which basically tasted like liquid eggs with hot dogs. My buddy ordered the eggs benedict and the sauce looked liked the fat sucked out of some old ladies rear end and the eggs were under poached and watery. On the upside the coffee wasn’t bad.

Food was average diner food but slow to come out. Loved the look of the place, and wanted to like it, but service was miserable. Our waitress [name redacted], was obviously not happy to be at work. Made several references to how much longer she had in her shift and virtually ignored her entire section unless it involved sitting new people. I had to ask for a coffee refill and wife never received one. Very nasty towards people at adjacent table, going so far as to reply with a flat«what» every time she was called over. Food was typical diner fare and loved the look of the menus, though they need some TLC. Prices also typical diner level and coffee was good. Overall, two meals for less than $ 20 is always good and if it wasn’t for the service, it’d have been a solid 3 star performance. But the waitress was bad enough to bring down the entire experience. The location is good and traffic is good. A good waitress there should be able to make a killing in tips. But that isn’t the way.

Good food well made and presented. I just had a roast beef sandwich and it was tasty and fresh. Could have had less roast beef and a bit of cheese but no real complaints. The restaurant is very clean and airy with friendly people. All considered great bang for your buck and a good freeway stopping point

Service was slow. Appetizers came out with meal, instead of before the meal. Nachos were not crunchy, but had a stale texture. Needs a «please seat yourself» sign. It was irritating to wait to be seated, while no one welcomed us, or other diners, and left to figure out that we should seat ourselves. Food average cafeteria style, nothing special. Waitresses friendly but not attentive to service. Overall took too long to get a mediocre meal. Was hoping for a diner with a small town vibe, but was disappointed. The staff need to exhibit teamwork and the place would run better. If you are in a hurry at all do not stop here.

For a diner, it’s not too bad. My father and I stopped there for a quick bite and while the diner wasn’t busy, our waitress was running around like crazy trying to take care of everyone because the other younger servers were not on the ball. I was not impressed with the fly trap hanging from the ceiling as it was covered with flies and unappealing as I ate my BLT, which was surprisingly not bad. It had a nice amount of everything in it and served with a decent cole slaw, potato chips, and a sad, dry pickle spear. Overall, the food wasn’t bad, but they should definitely hire better wait staff to help the older woman who served us and maybe not have a fly trap hanging where customers can see them.

Update: This place went to hell in a hand basket. Took about a half hour to be acknowledged. Waited another half hour for our appatizer which came out with our meal. This place is just horrible now. This will be the last time we stop here.

Service is abysmal. We walked in at 12:30 on a Sunday, with the diner about 1⁄3 full. It took 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were here. We ordered four basic meals(one was a salad), and 50 minutes later, we still don’t have our food. A complete joke.

Stopped here after a day at Rausch. Ordered: BLT w/fries — toasted bread, perfectly cooked bacon Chicken fingers — not too bready Country fried steak– crispy coating, tender steak Coconut cream pie Service was great, friendly. Only issue was the fries cost extra with the sandwich.

Perfect stop for our road trip on a holiday weekend. Quick, simple and delicious fare — cheeseburger, chips and coffee. Do not pass by their bakery, had a slice of delightful chocolate peanut butter cake. Sorry I could not have tried some pie. Or tried their breakfast — maybe will stop again on our return. Pleasant and clean, polite service, non-pretensious and seemed popular with locals. Why do a chain when you revisit the 60’s here?

This place used to be a truck stop with a store, but in the last few years(months?), it’s been renovated to be a 50s-style diner. It wasn’t the cleanest(the floors were dirty/soot-colored), and the service was slow. Granted, our waitress said it was only her second day, but I could tell others were annoyed with the service when they had to ask the manager for the bill. The food was very good, but for the amount of time it took to receive our food, I’ll pass. It was much better as the All-American Restaurant and its truck stop.

Good food at fair prices. My family of 6, four of which are growing boys, ate for under $ 60 including tip. Cute diner style restaurant. Fries are tasty. Friendly service. Great alternative to fast food.
