Unfortunately for us all, Chambers Café closed down several months ago and has not reopened at a different location.

Our family of five stopped here for lunch because we wanted something local. We stopped on a Tuesday and were greeted by the friendly waitress. It isn’t a big fancy place at all. My first impression unfortunately was the smell of frying grease. I deferred to my daughter’s desire to eat here I had the daily lunch special — grilled chicken, fried okra, cornbread, yellow rice and banana pudding. It also came with pinto beans but they let me have corn on the cob instead. Typical southern diner fare. Not awesome but wholesome. Service was very good. Definitely saw to it that I was satisfied. With a little work on some of the items and better ventilation to get rid of that old grease smell this could be a good place for a quick meat & three. It appears to be frequented by locals.

This is the second hole in the wall we visited in Pine Mountain, GA in search of some decent southern food. Since I depend on Unilocal reviews for guidance and this restaurant had not yet been reviewed, I was hesitant to dine at this restaurant. It turned out well. My boyfriend and I both ordered the special, which included one meat, three sides, tea and dessert. Since the only meat I eat is fish and there wasn’t a fish option, I selected a double order of the squash casserole. I also had squash casserole, english peas, mashed potatoes and cornbread. I forgot what my boyfriend ordered. I think it was port roast with mashed potatoes and squash. Everything was obviously cooked from scratch and delicious. For dessert, we were served banana cake with a german chocolate frosting. I don’t eat much dessert, but the cake was outstanding. The options in Pine Mountain are slim, so I definitely recommend this place. The total for both our meals was around $ 18.00. I didn’t like the unisex bathroom. Urinals give me the creeps.
