We were visiting in The Gorge and needed a place for dinner. Skybridge Station, located inside the Kentucky Rock & Adventure Guides location, was recommended to us, so we thought we’d give it a try. We got there a little after 7:30 and since it was the middle of the week, there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. This little bar/restaurant is a gem! They had so many craft beers on tap to choose from. I had a dark beer that reminded me of the dark beers served in Germany during lent. Yum yum! The gourmet hotdogs were very good. One of my companions had the pepperoni pizza hot dog and loved it. I had the jalapeño mettwurst with french fried onion rings(the French’s brand in the can style) and Swiss cheese melted on top. Oh my gosh it was good! We also ordered the loaded nachos for an appetizer, which I’m certainly glad we did for two reasons: the hotdogs didn’t come with any side of chips or anything; the nachos were sooooooo good. I haven’t had nachos like these in a long time and I’ve been craving them ever since we got home from the Gorge. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family whenever they visit the Gorge whether it is for the day or a vacation.

KRAG and Skybridge Station(the bar/restaurant/hostel/shop KRAG is ran from) are both top notch! I went on two guided climbs with KRAG, one with a Groupon as a taste of climbing on natural rock and the other as more of an instructional outing going over how to safely lead climb outdoors. They’re very professional and passionate about what they do. Our guide even waited til we got back to Skybridge to teach us how to clean a route to make sure we got a full day on the rocks! Since I couldn’t find a separate Unilocal page for Skybridge, I also want to say that its a great little spot to grab a beer and throw darts. The staff is friendly, beer is cold, and food is delicious!

You absolutely can’t go wrong in choosing KRAG as your guide. My brother and I had Clifton take us out and I feel I got exactly what I paid for and some. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable and safety oriented, not to mention he taught us more than I thought possible in only four hours. Great business and great employees. Be sure to stop by their Skybridge station and grab a cold one or a bite to eat. Amazing experience and we would(and plan to) go back in a heartbeat.

Climbing with KRAG was THE highlight of our visit to Kentucky. I would go with them again in a heartbeat. Their guides are super professional — in knowledge, safety best practices and skill. And they are a ton of fun and really enjoy sharing their passion for climbing and the Red River Gorge. Whether you are an experienced climber or a complete beginner, or are climbing on your own or with your family/friends/party, I highly recommend climbing with KRAG. My brother and I climbed with Brian(one of the co-owners) and had a blast. We didn’t have all our gear but KRAG provides everything you’ll need for free(shoes, harness, helmet, etc). It rained so much the day we arrived and I was worried we wouldn’t be able to climb. But Brian is so knowledgable and knew where all the best spots were that stayed dry. We got to climb so many classic routes, learned new techniques, and had so much fun. Also, one thing to not overlook is KRAG’s emphasis on safety. Brian and his team have loads of experience and every certification out there, and it clearly shows. It gets even better. After a day of climbing, we were so hungry and headed back to the Skybridge Station. Turns out, you can enjoy from their amazing selection of local craft beers on tap! To add, they even serve the best hot dogs and quesadillas in town(and some of the best I’ve ever eaten)! The guys at KRAG are awesome and are the reason our trip to Kentucky and the red river was epic. I can’t wait to go again!

I am so glad I impulse purchased a groupon for a 5 hour rock climbing adventure with Kentucky Rock and Adventure Guides. So much fun! Reasons to call them up and make an appointment– full day of adventuring(9 – 4): they give you climbing shoes, the guides are very experienced and so patient as you make your way up the rock and they have hot dogs and beer when you get back from your climb! Seriously though, I thought I had been rock climbing before and then we did this and I was so wrong, but our guide was nice and supportive as fumbled my way around and cheered me on even as I fell. There are ropes, so don’t be afraid to fall!
