The closest to homemade I have found since leaving California! The food is fabulous, fresh, and makes me think of Sunday meals with family. You cannot compare any of the local«Mexican» restaurants to this quality and I hope you don’t even try. Forget about the Americanized chips and salsa and try one of the specials… ask them to make what they want and you will not be disappointed!!!

The food was delicious better than most restaurants I’ve been to in Fayetteville. The location is a bit lonely but the environment is good. The dishes are a decent size with food portions enough to fill you and more, the drinks are an XXL size. While you eat music is playing. Great place to go with the family and definitely will return again. The hostess is very polite has a great attitude and a big welcoming smile which is always a plus

I was craving Mexican today and didn’t feel like driving to El Molcajete in Sanford.(They’ve spoiled me!) Decided to try Benji’s based on the reviews and was praying it wouldn’t be crappy Tex Mex. I was very pleased with my decision. The owner was incredibly pleasant. My bistec Ranchero was tender and the beans were perfect. The kids’ meals are very hearty — kids tacos were awesome! Love that there’s a little grocery inside, so you can buy some authentic ingredients. Instead of soda machines, head to the cooler and grab a Mexican coke or one of the other Mexican sodas or juices. Definitely plan on returning. So happy to have found Benji’s.

My new favorite! Reminds me of San Diego or San Fransisco style Mexican food in the best way. A short drive from Pinehurst is well worth the super delicious carne asana burrito. Can’t wait to try more.

A perfect meal after our long hike! The tortillas were handmade, tacos were spot on authentic.

What a wonderful surprise. No cars in parking lot. Thought this would be a zero. But it was one of the best Mexican meals I have ever tasted. Beautiful presentation. I highly recommend this place. If you are in the Pinehurst area it is well worth the short drive to Pinebluff. I can promise you will not be disappointed.

Go eat at Benji’s! The food is great and totally cheap for the quality and portion size. It is owned and run by great, friendly people. The owner/waiter/chef makes everything to order, including the guacamole. He is very proud of his food and really wants you to enjoy it. He will customize anything and everything on the menu to satisfy you. I cannot recall ever having service this great, food this good, and prices this reasonable in a single restaurant. I say again, go eat at Benji’s! If you like Mexican food, you should check it out.

Benji’s is local, fresh, and the best in the area! Definitely coming back! Has standard fare — burritos and tacos — but also has pappusas and sopes.

Most authentic Mexican food in Moore County. The tacos are super delicious and the guacamole is extra fresh. Benji is the most gracious and kind host as well. Looking forward to trying the whole fried snapper and soups!

Benji was a wonderful host in his modest restaurant, describing all of his specials to us and offering suggestions. I would not have known about this place without a tip from my local guide who suggested we grab lunch here. So glad we did! The atmosphere was festive and the food was authentic and fresh. Prices were definitely reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The only downside to our meal was the length of time it took for our food to arrive. I give five stars though because I know Benji was trying to keep up with orders(it was him and another person preparing food for the lunch crowd) and the wait was well worth it. We’ll be back again.

Es increíble saber que los alimentos tienen una enorme variedad en su elaboración; es por eso que cada restaurante puede tener un estilo diferente. Y por supuesto que en benjis encontrarás algo único y por supuesto con un. Exquisito sabor

One of the greatest Mexican food restaurants I have ever eaten at. I’d compare Benji’s to the best Mexican restaurants that any other major city has to offer. If you live in the area and haven’t eaten here yet, you are missing out.

So I have had Mexican food everywhere(I’m Mexican by the way). I have to say, I haven’t had food this good since my Aunt and Grandmother used to cook Sunday diner. If you want AMAZING Mexican food, this is definitely the place to go. Don’t settle for average food. Everything is made to order and fresh.

Wow! I’m so happy to have stumbled upon Benji’s Taqueria. Authentic Mexican food in Pine Bluff! To think I have wasted time and money at other Mexican restaurants in this area! It makes me sad; I could have been eating here. Benji the owner is a great cook and friendly host. His menu has a wide range of authentic Mexican dishes. This is NOT the Americanized dog food the other places serve. He makes everything to order and from scratch. It may take a little extra time and amen for that, it is worth it and not thoughtlessly prepared. The restaurant is humbly perched by HWY1 in between a delightful thrift store and an auto museum. Unpretentious and mega wow on the food!

My mom and I came to NC for a family funeral. Somebody suggested we go to Benji’s if we want great mexican fare. She said, «Oh, this makes me want to go there — you will love it!» She told us it is part store, part restaurant. We made a reservation since it was a Friday night. There were a lot of local Latin folks waiting for their to-go orders. We could not find online reviews and we were not really sure when we walked in, that we wanted to stay. We are so glad we did. We started by ordering guacamole and chips($ 5.50) and margaritas since we were unsure if we would really like the food. The guacamole was delicious so we ordered dinner. Benji was so nice. He made our food exactly the way we wanted it becuase he wanted us to enjoy our food. My mom had a vegetarian child relleno which he makes with his own blend of seven different kinds of cheese. It also came with beans, rice and sour cream($ 12.50). It was one of the best chile rellenos we have ever eaten. We are picky eaters and have travelled all over the world. We agreed that this was now one of our favorite mexican restaurants — world wide! I ordered a vegetarian sope and two vegetarian tacos. Again, fabulous! Our total bill with tip was $ 40. We ordered hot sauce and Benji delivered. Normally when I order hot sauce in various restaurants, it’s not very hot. This was! He brought over a bag of Arbol Sin Pata(Arbol Chili Pods) and told us that he makes his sauce from these. We bought a bag($ 1.99) to take back to SF, CA but sadly he does not yet bottle his own hot sauce. If he opened his restaurant in SF, CA he would be a very rich man. He told us he has been serving people in Pinebluff, NC for seven years and he loves it here. He does not plan to move. Most people hear about his place from word of mouth. A nice couple originally from FL also came in and loved their food too. Warning: go with a group, the food is not fast, so take your time and enjoy your company. The food is worth the wait! I told Benji I was going to be his first review on Unilocal and that he might have to hire more staff after everybody realized this is the best Mexican food around! Thank you, Benji for a wonderful last dinner in North Carolina.
