This was the best Indian food that I’ve experience in the Tampa Bay Area. The food was full of wonderful flavors.

Sitting in the parkinglot Saturday at 12:45. Pretty sure they are closed and out of business.

6 ppl. Ordered 6 dishes plus 2 appetizers. One butter nan, 2 garlic Nan’s, and 2 potatoes Nan’s. 4 mango lassies. Way too much! I think half would be enough. Mango lassie is good. Garlic Nan is ok. Potato Nan is a bit tasteless. Okra massala and eggplant are good. Cheese curd appetizer is good.

Got takeout from here the night and it was to die for! I got the palak paneer and it was fresh, flavorful, and melted in my mouth. My husband got the chicken korma and he had the same description of his dinner. We had an order of garlic naan o the side as well. Both dishes came with a large portion of rice. We ended up having almost two meals worth of food for both of us. It is somewhat on the pricier side if you’re getting takeout($ 35 – 40), but the quality is there. So happy to have the location close to home in Pinellas Park. We will be regular customers!

Solid Indian food. This location is the newest of the 3 Gateways. Chicken biryani was mildly spicy and flavorful. They ran out of goat so we had to substitute chicken in the traditional curry. It was ok. A solid curry dish. The most satisfying was the paneer butter masala. Stick to your ribs masala with tender paneer. Great paired with white basmati rice or the chicken biryani. My only complaint was that I wish there was more paneer. Lunch buffet is served 7 days a week. I wish they offered a dinner buffet at least one evening a week. I believe they would be the only Indian restaurant offering a dinner buffet in the entire Tampa/st.pete area. Something to consider, Gateway…

Very nice place, we stopped there for lunch. They had a small«under new management» sign up so I wasn’t sure how it had changed since earlier reviews but we had the buffet and it was great. Plenty of options with what I am guessing is authentic dishes(as I’ve never been to India), you could find something spicy or tame and it was all well prepared. The price was great, the service was great(well, it was a buffet so we did most of the serving) and I’d go back for more.

Well, I’ve had much better Indian food, and I’ve had much worse. So far this is the only Indian food I’ve had in the area so I’m going to go lenient on my review rather than comparing them to the better Indian food I’ve had in other cities. As usual, this rating is for the food only. The service was great. If that’s important to you, add another star! Maybe an additional two stars. Service was awesome. Very kind, never pushy, really patient. I appreciated that. However the food had some issues. Came for the lunch buffet. The battered/fried veggies were super cold. And that’s a bummer because they had all the sauces and chutneys I wanted. The onion chutney was especially yummy. But the hot sauce seriously tasted like they dumped siracha in a bowl. No good. The yogurt sauce and tamarind sauce were good though, if only the fried veggies weren’t so dang cold! They had plenty of veggie options which is perfect for me and I was really pleased about the two selections of rice. Neither were dry or old. But again, everything was a little cold. The naan bread was not on the buffet but instead served to the table, which was actually really good. I’ve never had the mango dessert but it was alright. Over all, it was pretty decent, but not spectacular, but certainly not bad. I’ll give it another go. But I’m only giving it 4 stars because I’ve not found much other Indian food in the area. If I do, I might lower the review to a 3. But then again, if you order off the menu not the lunch buffet could be pretty decent. I did NOT like the lentil dish. It’s so rare I dislike any Indian dish it was a bit confusing. The hot sauce was definitely my biggest complaint. Too much like siracha. Which just doesnt fit into Indian cuisine imo.

Great service and great food. Garlic Naan was fantastic and the green salad is gigantic with delicious yogurt dressing. I suggest sharing the salad. Will be going my back for sure.

Really tasty dinner entrees, can’t wait to try the lunch buffet. Hubby ordered the chicken vindaloo medium and loved it, though he wants to try the spicy. I got butter chicken and was really happy with it, too bad I filled up on the huge mango lassi before my entrée came out. Very nice interior, felt like we were out having a nice meal on a Friday night.

Actually on our way to the Italian Restaurant next door for dinner when we spotted this gem. Always on the lookout for a good indian restaurant we had to change our plans. We were not disappointed. The naan was tasty and slightly crispy. I ordered the lamb korma and it was delicious, spice level was spot on. My husband ordered the chicken tikka masala, it was also very good, he ordered it medium plus, and it was spot on. We ordered the chicken tikka, as well, and it was not that good. Two legs with thighs, but small and no breast, flavor was boring. The veggies were not cooked enough that came on the plate with it. We will be returning for dinner again and to try the lunch buffet. I could end up increasing to five stars if everything else is as good as our entrees.

Why 5 stars? The food at Gateway to India satisfies the craving I get every so often to savor authentic Indian foods. Having visited the Bay Pines location and enjoyed it, I was thrilled to see a new location closer to home. This building has housed other Indian restaurants in the past, but DONOT be mistaken as this place is not them and is completely worth the time. The service is impeccable and the manager strives to make everything about your dining experience good and right. The food is exactly the way I want it to be, flavorful, well cooked and beautiful. Perfectly pillowy yet crisp buttered naan, chicken tikka masala, papadam, it was the perfect meal. The inside is decorated beautifully to accentuate the experience. Absolutely nothing negative to say.

Overall, the food was good and the buffet had a large selection, but the service was horrible. I went twice because I thought the first time was a fluke considering all the great reviews. The second time the service was worse than the first. On our latest visit we were seated, the water filled, and then he walked away. He didn’t ask us if we wanted anything to drink(besides water), didn’t hand us menus, absolutely nothing. We sat for 10 minutes before someone came and addressed us(you here for the buffet, go ahead and help yourself, then walked away, before I could ask for drinks). They brought out the naan while we were at the buffet and we didn’t see anyone again until we sat waiting for our check(no coming to check on us, no water refills, no naan refills, nothing at all). When they finally brought the check I asked for some more water and the waiter was disinterested in what he was doing he pulled away from the cup while still pouring and left a large puddle of water on the table(getting something of our stuff wet) and walked away. Very sad because I love the idea of a buffet when trying a new restaurant, but the service was SO bad.

Came for the lunch buffet on a Saturday afternoon. Which I appreciate, as lots of businesses only offer buffet Mon-Fri. Gorgeous interior – black chair covers and pops of bright color everywhere with the curtains and decorations. Since we were the only people in the restaurant, we received the best service ever! The buffet had many offerings. You will get your money’s worth and get a chance to at least try different things. So I’m not an Indian food expert, but overall I liked the food here. It was fresh and flavorful and I’m glad to have been able to try some dishes I probably would not have ordered off the menu. I enjoyed the onion bhaaji, the chicken tikka masala, and the potato curry dish. The chickpea dish was good too. This was also my son’s first introduction to Indian food and he gave it a thumbs up lol. The naan that they gave us at our table was ok… bit greasier than I’ve had at other places. Service was excellent, our table was always cleared and waters refilled often. Will come back and order off menu next time. But for right now, this place is A-OK.

Went for the lunch buffet and everything tasted great! Fresh, clean and restocked when popular items ran low. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

I was looking forward to trying out the new location on 66th. It was a treat. The interior looks great. The lunch buffet was filled with yummy options. Irresistible naan bread brought to you nice and hot. Happy to have two great options on Bay Pines and 66th.

My fiancé and I have been looking for a good Indian restaurant. We found it! We had dinner a few nights ago, and the food was awesome. Great flavors and each dish was great. Very nice and friendly staff and the décor was cool! We not only will be coming back, but we will do call ahead ordering for pick up.

Buffet for lunch was superb! They are always changing the choices on the buffet so it’s never the same thing twice. Beautifully decorated inside and a very courteous staff. The Chicken Tika Masala was superb and I love the Tomato Rice! This is the 3rd restaurant from the Gateway to India, originally from Sarasota with a second location in St. Pete. I can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Definately worth a visit! Food was very good. Authentic & cooked to order. If you’re not into very spicy food, ask for mild. They asked how spicy I liked, 1 to 10, I picked 4(mild) it was perfect. BTW– I had the Chana Masala, a vegetarian chick pea dish with a side of garlic naan. Atmosphere was great. Service excellent. My only complaint… A little pricier than expected but nothing crazy.
