They have a great pulled pork sandwich, but it’s not available every day. Also, great burgers. Very nice staff, but sometimes they disappear.

Pete and Shorty’s is a perfect spot to go have a care free happy hour. Food is good I like there Shepard’s Pie. The burgers remind me of white Castle or crystals. If I could create a name for the type of food here I would describe it as bar comfort food! It is tasty tho! I look forward to unlocking my free dessert.

Solid diner spot. Came on a Friday night– place was packed! It’s a seat yourself restaurant– luckily we found an empty booth. Service was fast and friendly. I got the meatloaf– it was decent. Big portions here, had enough leftovers for the next day. My son got the Triple Play burger– Chipotle BBQ sauce, bacon, pepper-jack cheese, fried jalapenos & a spicy pork slider– what?! That burger was massive and he said it was really good. Free dessert with Unilocal check in and an order of $ 20 during the time we came! We picked the Big O– vanilla ice cream and four fried Oreos, drizzled with chocolate. This dessert could easily have fed three. Overall, we had a nice bite to eat and no complaints.

I prefer the Clearwater location but this location is still good. We love the chili dip, the pork sandwich and Thor box of 24 shortie burgers is always a nice treat. They last several days in the fridge to heat up for a quick snack. It’s sort of like White Castle but not as greasy. The service is hit or miss but we still enjoy going here for lunch.

I love Pete & Shortys. the best blue cheese burger! However, tonight I witnessed a disgusting act by a cook!!! I was waiting for my takeout and a cook with gloves on, blew his nose… then instead of changing his gloves, he picked up some bacon with the same gloves on!!! Wtf?! I asked the manager if he would eat the food if he saw that, he said no. Neither would I… As a cook, you should care. Shame.

Been here a few times now… ok so many they know me lol. It’s consistent. Not great. No bad. Just consistent. The pork sandwich is really good and the tater tots with BBQ pork are deliciously sinful. The long Island iced teas are done right. not too strong and not too weak. Good happy hour specials as well. Last time we went Chelsea was playing and they made sure they turned the closest tv on it for us. Great fried mushrooms too!

Not bad. In town for a sporting event. Found via help. They had a OK veggie burger. Tater tots decent. Only one IPA in the bar. Major faux pas

Get the meatloaf. Seriously, it’s a solid loaf! Pork tenderloin sandwich is unique, hammered super thin and overhanging the bun by a lot. We came in right as they opened on a Monday(actually a few mins before 11), and I like that they were fully ready for business. Food came out quickly, and service was friendly. The place was clean and music was classic rock, which fits the environment.

P&S is what one usually expects of a typical sports bar. Obviously very loud, with an emphasis on fried food, and a surprising handful of really great and unique menu offerings… I’ve been here twice recently, around 5 – 6:00pm. Their fried fish is excellent and the tater tots are a must! The fried pork tenderloin sandwich is also really good, though at $ 9 plus one side, I was hoping the sandwich would be larger. So why only 2 stars? Like a previous Unilocaler stated in Aug 2015, there were indeed several characters sitting at the South end of the bar that made both visits almost unbearable. (And no, I am not making any sort of stereotype about Pinellas Park. I’ve eaten at many PP places nearby that do not suffer from this problem.) The bar patrons were several older men, say 50 years old plus, appeared quite drunk, and were insanely loud and obnoxious. The way the bar and wait staff tolerated and interacted with them made me believe they are«regulars.» These guys made sure to stop EVERY female that passed by, both staff and patron, to make some sort of totally unfunny, loud, slurred, and ridiculous attempt at conversation or whatever. I could clearly see other nearby diners shudder and grimace as this was going on, and on, and on… And keep this in mind… This was before 6:00pm! «Happy hour» for some, UNHAPPY hour for many others! I read the owner’s response to a previous Unilocaler’s similar 08⁄2015 complaint about this. Sadly, the real genuine«load» was only the snarky, completely unprofessional, and just pure emotion-based babble of a response. Ugh! (I have since noticed the owner deleted his response. Hmmm?) You do realize this is what Unilocal is for, right? Now you have 2 diners that have eluded to the fact that some bar patrons«may» be being waaay over-served here and are creating an unpleasant dining environment. So as far as the food and service? This place actually deserves 4 stars. As for the experience? Eh… I’ll never come back here, especially after reading the owner’s response to a fellow Unilocaler attempting to address this genuine problem. Please read for yourself and judge! So when I crave the good P&S menu items, I’ll just visit the Clearwater location. You should consider this too. However, I do wish you all well here and good luck…

Well they’re good close to my house but bartenders have no personality. Seems like football time you could be more in the game.

We stopped here to eat on our way to Tampa international Airport. It is a sports bar atmosphere. I had the blackened Mahi wrap, and it was delicious! Two friends had the turkey avocado wrap with the spinach wrap, and they said it was delicious. We would definitely return here if we are in the area again.

I have always passed this placed and wondered what the good would be liked, as well as what it looked like inside. So today for lunch I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and it was an interesting experience. I was impressed with their menu as it had a lot of different items and it was not too big. They also had a separate menu for the drinks, and let me tell you it was impressive to say the least. I was amazed at their menu and selection. This is a place you go when you want to have fun and a few drinks .you can tell it caters to the bar scene. It had college stuff everywhere. Today we had went to lunch and I was not too busy so we were able to sit where we wanted which was a booth. I also noticed they had a special table for the mayor that impressed me and got me to try and the food. Okay let talk about the food, like I said the menu had a good selection. I decided to to the 3 grain black bean burger and it was good. I am very picky with my veggie burgers so I was pleased with it. I also got French fries and here is where the problem was it was too greasy and it upset my stomach. I am very sensitive to very greasy foods. My boyfriend got the Florida burger which had beef, friend egg and bacon and avacado. He ate the burger and said it was good but over cooked which would be fine for me but not him. The taster tots were also greasy. Overall the food is good just not the fried stuff, it seems they over fry it which gives it a greasy feel. The server was very nice and attentive and made our experience very pleasant. I love it when they take care of you and have a nice charm to them, which she did.

Well, this is Pinellas Park. Thank goodness I called ahead and used my groupon for take-out only. Oh, and it probably did not hurt that I came shortly before sunset either. Saw multiple sketchy characters either coming out of this place or simply hanging around in the parking lot outside. I feel for the nice girls who work in here for obvious reasons and the few minutes I spent inside this place were more than I wish to spend again. Can only imagine how much more the potential for trouble escalates once that late happy hour kicks in. Too bad. My food was good and I would order the same things or try other items from their menu, but it is going to have to be at a different location.

Good food, nice staff. I really like the wedding soup, and most of their soups of the day, the Pete burger, the Mac and cheese, and the pork wings.

This is a great place to go for American food. Whatever that is. The fried pickles rival Hooters. They have fantastic specials and you can get cheap beer if you drink beer that should be cheap. Service has always been quick and attentive at all their locations. The bathroom has lovely décor.

Had a nice family lunch on the day after Christmas… minimal clientele and rapid service. Had some fried mushroom chips and dill rounds for app, served with tangy horseradish sauce. Most had the littly Shorty sliders or other burgers, and all were satisfied. Comfortable, casual atmosphere, not like some raucous sports bars with giant screens blaring out any attempts at conversation.

I don’t go to Pinellas Park often, but when I do this is a place I’ll cheerfully grab a beer and a meal again. Pete and Shorty’s is a happy place with good lighting, friendly staff and a commitment to cleanliness. If you go, here’s my advice: 1) get a beer. It’s icy cold and crisp and helps you wash down the fried bar food that’s soon to follow 2) order the fried pickles. And ask for the horseradish sauce on the side. Deep. Fried. Pickle. Chips. Mouthwatering goodness in every bite. 3) try the turkey Reuben. It’s actually very good, and so much better for you then just about anything else on the menu. Besides, you need to save your fried food capacity for #4 4) no matter what you order for an entrée, get the tater tots with it. These crispy golden little nuggets are pure perfection, and will make your memories of the soggy middle school tater tots carelessly crafted by an overworked and underpaid lunch lady fade into oblivion. I’m getting hungry again just writing about them. 5) when you go to bed that night, set your alarm early enough to get some cardio in the next morning. You’ll need at least 20 minutes of an elevated heart rate to process the grease you consumed the night before, but if you follow my advice you’ll be wearing a satisfied smile with your jogging shoes. I don’t recommend eating all your meals in Pinellas Park(hence the 3 star review is relative to a much broader selection of eateries including my wonderful home base of South Tampa), but if you do Pete and Shorty’s is a safe bet.

Been here twice on Triva Night. It’s usually busy and loud(from Trivia announcer/music), the food is good but nothing OMG, and the service has been very good. Works for Trivia, but probably wouldn’t visit otherwise. Check-in with Unilocal and get a free dessert if you’ve spent $ 20+. Tuesdays they usually have a $ 5 burger + side deal — can you even get a McDonald’s burger and fries for $ 5 anymore? Pretzels & Beer Cheese app — 3 pretzel logs and a small cup of ‘beer flavored’ cheese whiz, blech. Applebee’s trumps them in this app — wow, can’t believe I said that — ha! I have tried the Sundried Tomato Club which was typical club with reconstituted sundried tomatoes which does not mix well at all so glad I ordered on the side. I have also tried the Garden Veggie Wrap which is green, green, green — packed with lots of green vegs in a spinach wrap — love the vegs but very very bland otherwise — maybe ask for a side of dressing? BF ordered the Cuban and it is very good — real pork and nicely pressed bread — order the Cuban if you like Cubans! Tater tots and house-made chips are both good choices in the fried arena. The fried oreo dessert is awesome but super rich/greasy so split it with a friend and you won’t be in a sugar coma ;)

I had lunch here on a random Friday. They weren’t that busy but it was mainly filled with older make patrons in the bar area. Many were locals I believe. Wait staff was working hard and all were super pleasant. The bartender was extremely nice and very efficient. I had the mahi spinach salad, the bartender suggested the citrus dressing which was great. Food was surprisingly good for the pub type atmosphere. And well drinks are only $ 3! Pleasant experience. I works come here for game days, it seems like it would be more fun and upbeat then. Nice little place.
