This restaurant is always clean. The staff is friendly. The sushi is tasty. It may not be the best sushi spot in Pinellas County, but it’s the best sushi place in Pinellas Park that I know of so far.

I was in town staying nearby and just wanted some simple, affordable sushi without making a production of it and this place delivered. Everything I had was good but I have to especially praise their Mexican rolls. I think they’re the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp is served hot and cooked to order, it has some tenderness to it, and isn’t fried to a crisp. I highly recommend them and I think they were only $ 6 an order so it’s a total deal.

Horrible overprized tasteless sushi with poor customer service. Rolls are overpriced, tiny and have zero flavor. I will never eat at this place again.

Fresh and delicious sushi! Several mentioned the servings were small, but we didn’t find that to be true for the most part. We ordered four speciality rolls and could have been satisfied with three, although one of them, the crunchy salmon special roll was a bit small. The other three were not. The TST(recommended by our server) was my favorite, spicy and flavorful with a little crunch. The Cherry blossom(also recommended by our server and several reviewers) was also delicious as was the Alaskan and the crunchy salmon. I don’t think you could go wrong with anything here. I loved the iPad ordering. Also, the service was very slow because they only had one chef that night and apparently only one waiter as well because was running like crazy. We didn’t say anything negative because we could see they were doing their best, but the server bought us two drinks to apologize for the wait. Now that’s the way to turn around what could have been considered bad service. Nice!

As someone from west Los Angeles where there are sushi restaurants on every corner, I can say this is the best sushi I’ve had in years. The rolls were great /perfect and the one sushi serving I had(yellowtail) was just excellent. Chef Nate has it goin on behind the case and service from Tony was friendly and attentive. I will be back.

This is one of my favorite sushi places, its quiet, low lit and an overall friendly environment. I love the ordering via tablet at the table and am yet to have a bad meal at this location. The chefs are really focused on what they are doing and you can tell they are true professionals.

My friend and I love ordering from here because the sushi is always fresh and delicious. There are a lot of unique rolls to choose from. My bf loves the Samarai roll. It’s Tuna on the inside and on the outside, cucumber and spicy mayo drizzled on top. I ordered the Mexican roll(tempura shrimp, cucumber, and avocado) and for the first time tonight I tried the spicy tuna roll(tuna and cucumber). I recommend both of these rolls. There’s about 8 pieces per roll and pricing is reasonable. They gave an ample amount of wasabi and ginger too! The order was placed by phone and made in no time at all! Parking wasn’t an issue because we were only picking up, however, I can see it potentially being an issue during dinner time due to the small parking lot. The location is prime because it is close to Park Ave. Enjoy! xo

I bought take out and I will sum up my visit as, «The good, the bad, and the ugly». Wanted to leave 2 stars but because the staff was friendly and not everything I ate was bad, so I settled on 3 stars. I love sushi, and I’m not a sushi snob at all, but I do know the difference between good and bad sushi. This was my first time trying Sushi Wave, and I always order a Mexican roll whenever I try a new place. I find that Mex Rolls are a very basic kind of «sushi» to use as a «control» to judge what type of place it is. Some places make it basic, and some try to fancy it up, and normally it says a lot about the sushi chefs and restaurant. My order was a Mexican Roll, Tuna Tempura Roll, and Red Dragon roll. THEGOOD: Ordered 3 rolls for take out and was told 20 minutes, which I was skeptical because most sushi places on a Friday night take much longer. My order was ready with in 20 minutes, and very friendly staff, awesome ! The Red Dragon roll was pretty good, looked like fresh tuna on top, and not swimming in sauce, it wasn’t a OMG type of roll, but tasted fresh. I would definitely order it again. THESOMEWHATBAD: The Mexican Roll had some sort of orange sweet sauce on top of it, and the shrimp didn’t taste right. The shrimp wasn’t bad, but it didn’t seem like it was fried tempura style, it may have been steamed? I don’t know but it wasn’t prepared like other places do it. If it had a freshly fried piece of shrimp in it, I’m sure it would’ve been fantastic. THEGODAWFULUGLY and REALBAD: I really hate to leave extremely negative comments, but… The Tempura Tuna Roll was disgusting, could only eat two pieces, what the hell is this roll all about? For one there was zero sign of tempura batter anywhere, and I hate to use this description but the tuna inside looked like cat food. It was grayish and way over cooked, look a my photo and see for yourself. I was expecting a piece of fresh tuna that was battered and fried and prepared like a Mexican Roll. It was a complete fail ! Not sure if I will go back, Hooks and Itchiban are close by and their prices are about the same as Sushi Wave.

Great time!!! Very hip style, ordering is on a tablet! Intimidating at first but we got use to it. The sashimi was very fresh, although there seemed to be an inconsistency with the fish cuts. Not a big deal but presentation counts right? We will be back!

Young trendy place. The service was great. Jaynie was a sweetie and checked up on my table to make sure if their food was made to satisfaction. It was great! My regular roll i always order is the dragon roll. I love their high tech menu also. IPads =). Just check on their FB website. They are always posting different special deals daily.

I am totally in love with their modern concept and usage of new technology(ordering off the ipad) it’s great and easy to access to whenever you want to browse the menu or order more. Big win here. The menu isn’t large but they do have a good number of rolls. The quality of fish isn’t amazing to me as the tuna and salmon on my roll was dull in color and tasted a little off. Yet, the salmon in the sashimi dinner tasted and looked way better. So I would have to say it’s a hit and miss with certain items? Their use of sauces and presentation is an A + though. Tasty! Over all I thought this place is pretty good. I wouldn’t say they have the best quality fish, but the vibe is nice. The restaurant is clean and ordering off the iPad is just too fun!

Came in with my girlfriend and was seated immediately. And we were greeted immediately with a smile from the hostess. The scene is comfortable and relaxed. Dimly lit, the bar and walls accented with blue rope lighting. The general feel is of a cool martini lounge. The menu is a tablet which was fantastic, you send your own order through the tablet and out gives you your total. The food came pretty quickly and with decent presentation. The hostess/waitress was incredibly attentive to any need. I never had to ask for her, she was always there at the right time. I ordered three items and drank an incredible amount of sweet tea. I’m a fit guy 220lbs and I’m full. The crab Rangoon was possibly the best I’ve had. I will be back.

I really enjoyed our lunch at Sushi Wave. The place has a dark, cool, almost night club type vibe. You definitely would not expect the interior to look as nice as it does based on the outside tiny plaza that it shares with Subway. When we walked in we were immediately seated and handed a tablet. Our waiter quickly described how to use it, put our drink orders in for us and then we started playing. I really LOVE this style of ordering. I think it is particularly useful at a sushi restaurant where you aren’t really sure how many sushi rolls you want(or can handle). It also allows you to see pictures and descriptions of the food that a regular menu might not have. NOTE: Make sure you see the entire menu! We didn’t notice that there was an appetizer section until later on(which is the downside to being new to this form of ordering). When our food arrived the rolls seemed to be about average size for the sushi we have had. We ordered one of my favorites(a Tampa roll) for only $ 4. We also ordered a spicy salmon roll and a specialty roll(I don’t remember which one we ordered). They were all pretty good. We then realized we were still hungry. So, we grabbed the tablet and we ordered another specialty roll to top us off. I didn’t feel at all that there was a lack of service while using the tablet. It allowed the waiter to wait on us without having to deal with annoying questions and remembering our order. He was still there if we needed him, but he didn’t have to be as attentive. The tablet does have an option to call the waiter if you need anything and to get your bill when you are ready. It allows you to set your own dining pace. A total win for us. While this isn’t the best sushi we have had, it was pretty good. The prices are decent(low for basic rolls and a little high for specialty rolls… it balances out for us). We will be returning often for our sushi fix.

This is a though one to rate. I would love to give it 3 ½ stars. I have been to it twice now. The good: The place is very modern with music playing. The menu is on electronic tablets(iPad mini size), with pictures of all the items. The Sushi was very good. Waitress was very attentive and the orders came out pretty quickly. The not so good: The rolls were smaller than in most Sushi places. The Sashimi dinner tasted great but again, the fish portions were a little smaller than usual. In addition, I had to pay extra for Miso soup. Salad also not included with the dinner. Therefore, décor and atmosphere is great. Had good service. Food was very good and had great presentation, but expect to pay more than at other Sushi places.

The building & staff… This is a little joint that’s pretty easy to pass by. It’s very clean inside and modern-looking. They were playing music in there like it was some kind of club, and football was playing which was interesting. Our waiter was nice though he didn’t have to do much work since we ordered through a tablet. The food… We had the krab rangoons, a spider roll, a Tampa roll, a crazy chicken roll, and a tempura shrimp roll. The rolls were tasty. Especially the spider roll. The other rolls and the rangoon can be described in one word– tiny. I don’t know if I missed something about the description of this place, but these rolls were teeny. We had 4 rolls and an appetizer and still were kind of hungry. I’m just saying $ 44 of food should fill 2 people, right? The drinks… Most sushi joints have cans that cost over $ 2, but these kats had fountain soda which was nice. Overall, I’m not sure that I will choose this place again, but if someone wanted me to meet them there, I suppose I’d go.

Quick and clean! This sushi spot is actually really good if you’re close to park blvd/66th street. I stopped by around 2pm on a Tuesday and they made my 2 classic rolls in about 5 minutes, which was much appreciated considering I was pretty hungry. The rolls were good and the presentation was nice. The white fish they use in the Tampa roll was good– not too much breading. The same for the shrimp in the Mexican roll. The pricing was fair and similar to their competitors. All in all, I’d come back.

The interior at Sushi Wave is cool, blue, and modern. All ordering is done through a tablet, which was super easy to use. The pictures and descriptions were helpful. All of the rolls we tried were delicious. My favorites were The Wave(snow crab mix, avocado, and cucumber topped with cubed Tuna and Salmon drizzled with house specialty sauce), The Tuna Crunch(flash fried roll with tuna, cream cheese, and asparagus) and The Electric Eel(crab, cucumber, cream cheese, topped with avocado and broiled eel with eel sauce and tempura flakes.) Lychee sake and Fried Cheesecake rounded out my meal.
