Odete Alexander at Transitions Salon in Pinole is such a talented hairstylist. I have been going to her for years! I always receive compliments on my hair (cut and color), and I have referred so many friends and family to her. Besides being such an expert in her field, she has the best personality! She is so friendly, smart and BIG-​hearted. She makes everyone feel at ease. She is also fluent in Portuguese which is quite an asset since the Bay Area has a large Portuguese/​Brazilian community. Odette does an amazing job on my hair! She is very professional and has a wonderful personality. She really cares and listens to what her clients want. She also has great ideas when I’m looking to do a fresh new look. I usually have issues with dyes fading quickly but the product Odette uses stayed and did not damage my hair. I am never disappointed. You rock Odette!

Was in the area and wanted to get layers, and was drawn in by the good reviews. The lady who cut my hair was nice BUT I went in, told her I wanted layers but DID NOT want to take off too much in the length. I had been growing my hair out for MONTHS and liked the length, just wanted to add some life/​style. I REPEATEDLY told the older lady to not cut off too much in length. She seemed to understand that then a little over halfway through she explains that she’ll need to cut a tiny bit off of the length to trim the ends. I was nervous, but agreed hoping this «professional «would know what she’s doing. She kept sighing (warning 1) and clicking her tongue (warning sign 2) a aaand she ended up cutting off about 4 – 5 inches of hair which took forever to grow. And when she finished she kept saying that if I didn’t like it then she’d fix it later for no charge but I was beyond pissed. She was a sweet old lady so I kept my anger silent but I was furious.
AND when I went to pay with my card she said they didn’t take cards (at all!!!) And asked me to get cash down at 711. I went to the ATM to grab cash and returned but honestly just felt like leaving, and telling an unhappy customer to leave without paying is honestly a stupid move because there is no guarantee they’ll come back. So unprofessional.
I do not recommend. Don’t go, unless you want to go from halfway down your back beautiful hair, to short just below the shoulder length hair (after repeated requests to not take off much in length).

If you’re looking for hair or make up to be done I highly recommend Marcella! I have been going to her for 2+ years. She’s the only one I trust. She will do exactly what you tell her. Or if you’re like me and don’t know what you want, she will get an idea of the things you like and give you something that’s exactly what you didn’t know you wanted all along. She’s especially good for special events. I was a bridesmaid and she did my hair an make up perfectly. No matter what the occasion every time she does my hair or make up I receive tons of compliments. She is simply the best!

I went here for my very first time in June. I had never professionally gotten my hair done before. I wanted something different for my birthday. I requested a black and purple ombré and I must say that it came out fabulous ! Sharon was really nice and picked perfect colors. My only down falls are that I do feel that it’s quite expensive but then again it was my first time ever and also the purple was out of my hair two weeks after having it dyed. For the money I paid I would have liked it to stay a bit longer.

I have been going to Marcella for well over a year now and never once have I left without feeling amazing! She listens and asks all the right questions to make sure that you get exactly what you want. We have done all over color, ombré, extreme bangs and hair cuts. My hair was just a wreck when I brought it to Marcella she brought it back to life. It’s now longer and stronger then it has been since I was in high school. She is amazing and can do it all. She did the hair and make up for my friends wedding and let’s just say that I can not wait to get married so she can make me look gorgeous. She is professional, friendly and just a lovely human being. If you’re looking for someone to trust your hair with I suggest going to Marcella right away. She’s the only one I trust.

Marcella is an awesome hair stylist. I recently changed hair stylists due to my original person that I went to really screwed my hair up, due to her being upset that I went somewhere else for waxing. My old hairstylist told me, my hair can not be layered. Marcella told me that was not true that she could layer it all hair can be layered. Prior to coming to Marcella it would take me 30 to 45 minutes to style my hair and get it the way I want. Always rushing around in the morning to get out of the house on time. This morning was the first time I had my hair styled in 10 minutes and not rushing around taking my time getting ready less stress. THANKS MARCELLA YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB AND YOU HAVE A LONG TIME DEDICATED CUSTOMER

I love going there! Marcella is always very friendly and welcoming. She always does such a great job at doing my hair. This last time I went in I wanted to try something different (ombré). I love the job she did. The colors blend together exactly how I wanted. I get alot of complements on my hair color.

This place is the BEST. Marcella is amazing. She is the only one I will let touch my hair. The atmosphere is modern and very clean. The staff are friendly.
I have had my makeup done and hair done by Marcella for both my college graduation and baby shower, and then my hair died later on. She gives me exactly what I want every time. I have been more than satisfied. I recommend her to everyone. If you have any hair or makeup needs Marcella is the best.

Needed color and cut done ASAP, and called in today. Got it done by Tammi, and she did exactly what I wanted! I’m so glad that she was available today. If you’re ever in the area, try her out. She’s the best!

I have been going to Ann to get more hair cut, colored and styled for over 12 years now and she never disappoints. I come over from San Francisco just to continue seeing her and my brother who lives in DC often waits to get his hair cut just to see her when he is home.
In just the last few years, I’ve gone from a super cute short pixie cut to long blonde hair with a pink ombré to deep brunette and every style has been gorgeous thanks to her! I always get a ton of compliments after every appointment with her.
In addition to being an excellent hair dresser, Ann is sweet, funny and just a joy to be around during my often multi-​hour hair session with her.
If I could give her ten stars — I would.

I highly recommend Odete. She is a wonderful hairdresser and consistently delivers exactly the style I want. She’s very down to earth and fun to talk to. She makes you feel very welcome and appreciated. She also is very creative. I’ve told her to run with her own ideas and she’s done a great job.
