Broke down in our campsite this past weekend 150 miles from home and ATR came to our rescue. AAA unfortunately told them we had an Expedition when we really had a lifted Excursion! ATR showed up with a truck smaller than ours! Not their fault though. He safely got the truck down to the shop on what he had and swapped the flatbed for a larger one and we were on our way. I really appreciate the guys who work on the weekends. Fast, friendly service. If ever stuck up there(hope not), give them a bell. Thanks ATR!

My car broke down in South Lake Tahoe and I needed to get it towed to San Francisco. Pat Cramer at ATR was fantastic. He responded quickly, came out, loaded it on the truck, got us back to San Francisco faster than I imagined possible, and unloaded the car right outside the repair shop. Great to work with, very knowledgeable and experienced, and I highly recommend him and ATR if you are ever caught in a similar situation. Thanks for taking care of me and my car!

The bf was excited about heading to Kirkwood for a blue sky ‘pow-pow’ day. Unfortunately, he caught a patch of ice on Hwy. 88, fishtailed and hit a tree across the road. The beater SUV is done; the tree won. Fortunately, the bf was able to walk away from the accident. Hopefully you won’t find yourself in this predicament, but if you do, Amador Towing and Recovery will most likely be the service you call for this area. They towed the SUV back to their site and since the cost of fixing the car exceeds the Bluebook value, they are taking care of the disposal. «One man’s junk is another man’s treasure» applies here, since Brett(the owner) will salvage what he can from the SUV. It’s cool that the parts can be reused or that the SUV can become a beater truck for someone who has the mechanical skills and time to fix it. Brett and his wife are really good people — you’ll be in good hands with them. From their line of work, they’ve seen horrible accidents in the area and just reminded us to always«wear your seatbelt», «watch the shady patches on the road», «drive slower and don’t be mistaken by the newer straightaways» and«don’t push it — the goal is to get to your destination». A note: Isn’t the number 8 supposed to be an auspicious number in Chinese culture? I joked with the bf that he must have bad luck since he got into an accident on Hwy. «88″; he thinks he’s being punished for being a ‘twinkie». Or perhaps, it is good luck that all he lost was his SUV.
