I finally came to this shop after family members raved about flavors and quality. It did not disappoint as most flavors I’ve tasted have been rich, creamy, and overall delicious. I noticed unique flavors(maple bacon) posted and never had the chance to try them because they would sell out so fast! I wish they would have more ready made. With that said, I hope they bring back some of the flavors next summer. This place is highly recommended. It’s worth the trip and cost.

I never thought a vanilla soft serve cone with sprinkles could taste so bad… I could have sworn there was no sugar added to mine, there were more spinkles than icecream, and the employee was so stingy with napkins even though the cone was dripping before I paid… It was so bad we dumped it in the grass nearby. Poor grass. Just trust me, GOSOMEWHEREELSEFORICECREAM.

Their ice cream tastes like any other ice cream you would buy at the store. However, they have a lot of options and it’s close to home so it’s my regular spot(when I want ice cream).

Petruccis is a great little neighborhood spot — solid ice cream, varied enough selection, reasonable prices. The staff was friendly on our last visit and even gave my daughter an adorable little bottle of bubbles shaped like an ice cream cone. The line can be long in warm weather but generally moves fast. Also parking can be tricky since the little strip mall is shared with a Chinese restaurant and bagel shop, though you can almost always find a spot on the street if needed. This is our closest ice scream spot so we are lucky we like it!

I used to live in the area a few years back and always ordered my ice cream from the previous owners. It was top quality and everyone there was always so friendly! My daughter recently had a project on ice cream and after 6 places turning us away in the Princeton area for an interview or video on how it is made… I decided to try Petrucci’s in my old neighborhood. I found out that it had new owners. They were wonderful and accommodating from the first phone call. They not only gave my daughter an interview, but allowed her to help make a batch of ice cream for her class and provided us with cups and spoons to serve it! While we were there we also had some of their ices and ice cream. My daughter LOVED the new Strawberry Shortcake flavor! I thought it was amazing too! My daughter was inspired to open her own business someday! Curt and his parents are wonderful people who I know are going to make a great impact on the community with their shop. Best of luck to them! This business deserves your patronage because they put kids first!

Best ice cream we have had in awhile! Came here for a late Saturday treat and was not disappointed. The girl behind the counter was sweet and friendly. My husband got the banana split and they give the option to have that with soft serve which he loved. I had a chocolate and vanilla twist on a coconut wafer cone! So creamy and delicious! Will come back.

A treasure for ice cream lovers(and who isn’t). All home made traditional and seasonal favorites .Also easy to find just look for the traffic jamb and the large crowd of people. Believe me its worth the wait. And if you dont go that’s ok too that means more for me. Enjoy

I love Petrucci’s! I haven’t lived in Jersey for years, but every time I visit I always make my routine stop for a milkshake. This is the best ice cream in Piscataway. They’re here during the warm seasons. I live in Atlanta now, but whenever I come home for a visit I Must stop here for a sundae, milkshake or cone a couple times before heading back down south. The girls here are usually from around town and go to the high school and the owners can see wandering around the back or even handing you yours ice cream. When you come at the peak of day, the line can be around to the liquor store or down the side walk but whatever the wait — It’s well worth it. The ice cream isn’t expensive. They offer soft serve and hard ice cream.(when ordering a shake I always ask for hard ice cream. it tastes better)

Pros: good for price and crazy pms craving that made me order Brownie fudge sundae with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. Lot of variety Cons: crowded, long lines, no parking, and it taste like regular store bought, be specific on cone waffle or sugar. I swear I said waffle and she gave me a sugar.

Awesome ice cream selection! They do not accept Unilocal offers/coupons. They do accept debit cards through the system Square. Cash is recommended in my personal opinion. Parking is limited!

I literally live a walk away from this place, but have only gone a few times. Actually, the last time I went was only out of default because I was craving one of my favorite ice cream flavors, black cherry, and thought they may have had it. For a long time I avoided this place because my mother doesn’t like the service there, and I’m kind of a mommy’s girl so… if mother said it, it must be true!(lol) A couple of times, in the summer, I’d see it had a long line, so I figured it couldn’t be THAT bad(maybe mom caught the lady on a bad day). So, one day, I just went and ordered a vanilla with sprinkles in a bowl. The girls working there were super-nice, and the ice cream was good(not awesome or great, but good). I went another day, probably a year later, and ordered the same thing. Again, the employees were nice and the ice cream was good. Then, the last time I went, I was waited on by the owner of the place(the older lady some of the other reviewers are referring to and the same lady my mom doesn’t like). I went late, maybe 25mins before they close, so I thought she’d be happy to see me and get some extra business before they closed shop for the day. She came to the window and greeted me: she wasn’t friendly but she wasn’t mean either, just… blah. I ordered a black cherry in a bowl. She took my order, we made the transaction, I got my ice cream, and left. The ice cream was fantastic. I haven’t been back, even though the ice cream was great. I honestly can buy great black cherry ice cream almost anywhere because it’s such a great flavor. I personally have nothing against the owner, but maybe if she had a better attitude, more people would be talking about this place.

As a child, I often went here with my neighbours to get ice cream. Quite honestly, I thought the quality of the ice cream was good at that time. I recently went here again with my friend for nostalgia’s sake, and our orders tasted disgusting. We each ordered a small vanilla soft-serve on a waffle cone. The ice cream tasted like pure oil, and the cone tasted stale and had an oily residue. My sister went several months before us, and she said that the woman at the front window rolled her eyes at her for making a last moment addition to her order. My sister told me that she was the only customer in line, and to make her experience worse, her cup of mint ice cream did not even taste good. Update 09 August 2012: So, I needed my ice cream fix this evening, and my sister returned with a large waffle cone with pistachio and rum raisin ice cream. Given my previous negative review, I reacted with much apprehension(why would you use my money to buy me a large at Petrucci’s?!). Surprise, surprise. It was quite good and similar to my childhood experiences. The waffle cone even tasted fresh. The price was a bit steep at $ 6.00, but the quality made up for it. My suggestion would be to avoid buying soft-serve ice cream altogether which tends to be full of chemical nonsense regardless of the brand. The hard ice cream flavours are much better.

Stopped in tonight for the first time. Ordered a small, one topping sundae and it was delicious. The girls working there were very nice! The sundae was the perfect size for a quick treat. The menu is extensive and I plan to go back and sample more items in the future!

I guess the cranky old ladies are still working here. They aren’t just impatient with children — they don’t like dealing with adults either. The flavors are okay… but definitely cannot compare to other ice cream shops around the area. Nothing to see, move it along.

Good ice cream; cranky old ladies. Seriously ladies. If you’re gonna work in an ice cream shop, you are gonna have to occasionally deal with little kids. I took my 3 and 4-year-old nephews here for an after dinner treat. The 4YO wanted soft serve strawberry. No problem, they got that. His 3YO little brother announced that he too wanted strawberry, but I wasn’t so sure. I mean, this little boy is all about the chocolate. He’d eat his own foot if we dipped it in chocolate. Anyway, I asked for a small strawberry for the 4YO and told the lady that I wanted the 3YO to give it a lick before I ordered his just in case. Oh my God what I eye roll I got. It’s not even like they were busy since we were the only people there at the time. Is this what the DMV would feel like if they served ice cream? In the end though we persevered, the 3YO liked the strawberry, and everyone was happy with their ice cream.

This is my favorite place to go during the summer when I’m at home. The owner works there all the time and she is sooo friendly. They have great choices in ice cream flavor and all sorts of other interesting desserts, such as the Canoli Pop. I also love their gelatis(a combination of ice cream and italian ice). They have strawberry and banana soft serve which is made from real fruit! All in all, I don’t think anyone could go to this place and not find something that they liked.
