A really cool spot. Great outdoor gear, beer, and bikes. If you’re ever going out towards looking glass falls(or other falls in the area), its def worth a stop inside. I’m not the avid biker I used to be, so I have little offer in knowing about the selection they offered. Everything looked nice though. I was more into the cool little gadgets and clothing for hikers. So many great toys that I’ve never seen before. Expandable plastic pots that can withstand boiling water and solar powered blow up lights. Plenty of other things as well. If I was a biker, this would be my spot.

Earlier today my fiancé and I drove from Asheville to the Hub because everyone we have talked to has told us to go there to look for new mountain bikes. We arrived about 3:30 today, 9÷6÷2015, just to find someone to talk to about their selection and services. They were kind of busy, meaning that folks seemed to be hanging out around the shop area and front counter. We walked around the bike selection and found a few models that we had previously done our research on however they carry some brands I wasn’t as familiar with. I’m a roadie and my fiancé doesn’t want to ride on the road so we want mountain bikes. So we continued to walk around their shop stop and look at a bike then go to the next. All in all we were in there about 15 minutes. Maybe 20. We noticed that people were just having conversations and just hanging out. So we just looked at each other and walked out. No one ever said a word to us. Maybe we don’t look the right part. However, we are both fit and athletic, and we’ve got cash to spend and were really disappointed that not one person said anything to us while we were in there. The selection of bikes looks solid and they had a nice selection of clothes and accessories. Maybe next time I’m in that area I may step back into the shop to see if it’s different.

I visited the area alone and without my own bike. No problem, The Hub can help with that, well not me being alone, but a bike rental and plenty of information about local MTB trails. I walked in with plenty of questions. I wanted to ride from the shop to a trail. Something simple and perfect for a quick ride, especially for someone not familiar with the local trails. Every one of the staff members were helpful and friendly. I bought some gear and enjoyed a brew at their bar. They’ve certainly got me locked in as a customer, scratch that, I mean a member of their community. A community, that’s exactly how it feels at The Hub.

Super nice and friendly outdoor shop right at the entrance to the pisgah national forest. I was in desperate need of chalk on my way to go climb at Looking Glass Rock. The old climbing outfitter has closed up shop a while back, so I was hunting for somewhere else that could help me out. Like a shining beacon we saw the sign, «the HUB Gears, Beers». They opened up sharp at 9am. They had a awesome selection of mountain bikes from full suspensions to 29ers. However, I was there for climbing needs. Luckily, when the old shop shutdown the lady I talked to saw fit to put up a small climbing section. Cams, ropes, and chalk all were available for purchase. This saved me from greasing off of looking glass rock. Next time, I come through I am going to sample the beer selection.

My wife and I traveled here from Chicago to mountain bike DuPont and Pisgah Went to The Hub for trails and map info and we were greeted by Jimmy Jimmy did an awesome job getting us familiar with the trails A few days later we returned to The Hub and Jimmy was able to replace my mangled front derailer and get us back on the trails Friendly, nice, humble and a place to have a beer while waiting Patrick
