This is a must read(how manager and workers handled an obnoxious customer). As a college student from Irvine, and being a bus driver, I have had my share of experiences with different types of customer service when getting my daily coffee, but this particular experience was definitely one to write about. As I came into this particular Starbucks at 8:30am, there was a small line of people. As my cousin used the restroom, a huge line emerged. From 8:30am until currently(10:30am), there has been a non-stop line here. Even with a long line, there are very fast at giving people their orders! At my local Starbucks on campus, with a line just as long and with more staff members working, your order will most likely take you between 10 and 20 minutes to get(AFTER ordering). At this starbucks? Less than five minutes. And it was the best drink I had tasted compared to those in Irvine and Los Angeles. And the service? I received a «thank you» after picking up my drink! Jared the cashier even asked how my name was spelled so that he did not spell it wrong! A customer comes in between this very hectic, very busy, memorial day weekend sunday morning, and asks for the manager. She talks to Mike, discussing how she ordered something online, and that it said her drinks would be done(certain amount of time I do not recall), and she was angry because it had been 15 minutes past that time, then went off to discussing how no one asked her if she needed anything, started insulting the workers that they’re not doing their job right. Mike was wonderful! He handled the situation very well. He listened to her as she insulted his workers because they did not have her drink ready by the appropriate time and Mike offered to give her whole order for free! FORFREE. But she was so angry about the situation all she said with an attitude was«I don’t even care for the drinks anymore. I will never come back to this Starbucks, this is the worst Starbucks ever» etc etc. He apologized to her calmly and friendly again, and she stormed off. Lady, no one is going to care about your stupid drink when other people have come out of their way to actually make line for their drink. We are all busy, you are not more important than them and should not feel like you should be the first person the workers NEED to take orders from when you walk in the door. Everyone’s busy. Do everyone a favor and stay home and make your own coffee if you’re going to be walking around with such a negative attitude. All the workers have not stopped their wonderful service, they are the best group of workers I have seen. I really hope that situation did not make them feel bad, because these workers are some of the friendliest workers I’ve met, with great patience especially with a non-stop line for the past 2 – 3 hours. Keep up the wonderful service!

Good staff, great drinks and close to all the businesses I frequent. Love the new Starbucks app where I can order & pay before I get there and my drink is ready without waiting in line.

This Starbucks used to be amazing, but unfortunately it’s changed a lot, and all for worse. This location offers the pre-ordering service which is great since there are no drive-thru Starbucks in the five cities or SLO. It used to be that I would place my order and by the time I got to this location(which is about a 3 minute drive from my home), my entire order would be complete and ready and met by exceptionally friendly staff. They always greeted me with a smile and most of them remembered me and said«see ya soon» as I left which made it really feel like a local coffee shop, despite it’s corporate status. However, things have changed over the last two months or so. Now when I get to this location, 9 times out of 10, only half of my pre-order is ready and I end up waiting anywhere from 5 – 25 mins for the other half of my order. There was even one incident where I saw the other half of my order(2 breakfast sandwiches) sitting on the counter and the barista argued with me that those were not part of my order, then 10 mins later a different barista hands me the sandwiches that had been sitting there, because, duh, they were part of my order. All of the friendly staff that once worked there seems to have disappeared because it’s nothing but grumpy and down right rude baristas now. Today was the final straw for me which means I’ll now be going to the location off Grand Ave, despite being further from home. My experience today was just ridiculous. Like I always do, I pre-ordered my coffee so I could just pick it up quickly, when I arrived to this location I noticed that the barista working the pick-up counter was frantically putting together multiple drinks, so rather than ask her for my pre-order, I asked the gentleman working the register(after all he and the other male barista were literally standing behind the register having a personal conversation, so they were literally doing nothing) when I told him I was there for pick-up, he visibly rolled his eyes at me, walked over to my coffee, set it on the pick-up counter, walked back over to the register where I was standing and said«For pre-orders you go to the pick-up counter, not the register» then pointed over to my drink he set on the counter instead of just handing it to me and proceeded to continue his personal convo with the other male barista. Like really? So sorry for interrupting your personal time and expecting you to serve me in your establishment. It’s because of customers like me that you even have a job buddy, so start showing some respect to those helping you keep a job and be friendly. I don’t know what the heck has happened at this Starbucks, but management needs to bring back the old friendly staff. In the meantime, I’m hopeful the location off Grand Ave will better serve me.

I love Starbucks as much as the next guy, and the coffee here is great. But good coffee can’t outshine poor customer service! Everyone here was great, except for one employee. Leave it to an employee named Kandle to ruin a perfectly relaxing atmosphere by yelling constantly at customers with a loud, shrill voice. I typically ignore this sort of thing, but I was driven to comment when she held up the line until everyone«straightened out» better. «It’s not that hard»…as she put it. Thanks, but I’ll grab my coffee fix elsewhere.

This place takes forever !!! I ordered a iced venti soy vanilla latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, I should not get my bagel and eat the entire thing before my drink is ready. There was no line. I walked up and ordered. The only good thing was my drink came out tasting good. I will forever go out of my way to go to the other Starbucks in town. This place takes way to long. 20 mins is a long time for coffee

Nice staff ~ good coffee but bathroom was hours past any attention:/ and the condiment station was really messy: sticky and hadn’t been cleaned in sometime either. Not real busy and plenty of helpers so cannot cut you a break today.

Pretty disappointed in the service today. This is my second time going there. The first time I had great service but this time I felt like I was being rushed on my order and they got one of my drinks wrong. The guy also had an attitude when I told him about it.

My drink was well made! Strip mall Starbucks with no drive through. Twelve people waiting for their drinks inside? Maybe, organize jobs better for faster delivery? 12:43 wait for my drink.

Like 75% of all Americans, I have made many trips to Starbucks around the states. This particular Starbucks has with out a doubt, the friendliest staff of the hundreds I have had the pleasure of visiting. Thank you staff and Starbucks and look forward to coming through Pismo again soon!

Came here for a pit stop of coffee & restroom break. Clean café except for the coffee/condiment bar & restroom. But the rest was clean & organized. Friendly staff & quick to make my coffee(mostly because I was the only one in line). Coffee is consistent with all the other Starbucks chain. #NightOwlFoodie #NightOwlFoodieReview #NightOwlFoodieApprovedEatery
