Best-Made Shoes

Wish I could give zero stars. Do not consider bringing your shoes here for repairs. Seriously, just don’t. I brought a pair of cole haan wingtips there to have a scuff smoothed out in the leather and they PAINTED the entire wooden outer sole black. How does that happen? It was cherry brown.
The customer service was pretty bad, no one had any idea why it happened, and they were not even apologetic. These are expensive shoes, too expensive for the flippant attitude I received. They offered to «take a look at them» but I would never trust them with my shoes again.
Luckily, Joe’s shoe repair downtown on 4^th avenue could fix them.
Seriously, don’t bother going here or you will be sad and sorry. Your shoes deserve better.

I visited Best Made Shoes for repairs, so I am giving two stars based solely on their repair options. The customer service was friendly and the price was reasonable. However, the purse that I had repaired ended up coming back with a grommet through the lining and they didn’t bother to loop the broken strap back through its ring, so it just dangles. I also dropped off two pairs of boots for new heels. One came back ok, but the other had sticky black glue on the leather and the inner heel was cracked (presumably from being in a vise). They may do great orthotics and sales, but their repair is terrible. I guess I’ll be paying double to have these fixed somewhere else. Since I paid upfront for the repairs and was just tossed my bag at pick-​up I didn’t realize how shoddy it was until I got home. To be fair, everyone that I met was very friendly, so their service would be five stars if anything I paid to have fixed was actually repaired. I’m not that fancy, so I didn’t expect perfection– just not visible glue and a strap that isn’t reattached at all.

My neighbor had a pair of Birkenstock sandals that I loved! She told me that they were a couple of years old, that she purchased them at Best Made shoes and that I wouldn’t be sorry if bought a pair. I did and she was right! I love, love love these sandals! When it’s warm these sandals are my first choice! There cool and give me the support that I need. Best Made Shoes is my first choice for Birkenstocks it’s a small well stocked store that offers excellent service and and repairs.

The heel covering on my favorite pair of boots came off and the heels wore down quickly. I didn’t want to give up these boots but was worried about getting them fixed, as I hadn’t done this before. I decided to take them to Best-​Made Shoes and am incredibly happy that I did. First of all, the guy who helped me was incredibly nice and understanding. He was flexible in when my boots would be repaired and had them ready right on time. At first I thought that $ 30 might be a little steep to replace heels, but once I saw them I was incredibly happy. The heels are perfect now! They made sure to blend the colors together so that it looks like one seamless piece– you have to examine the up close to see where the new heel piece was added. They even polished my boots so nicely that they look better than when I first bought them! I highly recommend this place for shoe repairs.
