Excellent coffee, comfortable atmosphere, super friendly service, tons of cool events… This space is a tremendous asset to the neighborhood.

Awesome spot! The played Incubus the duration of the time that I was there, which earns 5 stars in my book. I ordered a double espresso as I always do — the flavor was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that espresso comes with a «palate cleanser» which was seltzer water — I had never done this before, but it was a nice and appreciated touch. The vibe is dark, but I like that. The atmosphere of the people working together was contagious. Overall, a great spot close to home. I’ll be returning.

Black Forge is excellent. The coffee selection seemed good. The espresso is pretty good. The shop itself is nice.

Fantastic little shop. Not the best location. It’s nice to see business like such emerge in the neighborhood. Would love to see them open on Sunday!

Love the cappuccino here and the view of downtown PGH is pretty sweet, too. Good place to grab a coffee and do some reading.

I dont give 5 stars often, but this place is right down my alley. Every thing is made fresh locally from the coffee to the pastries, it has a metal atmosphere with stoner rock/doom metal playing in the background, theres a little stage for open mic, poetry, etc., its affordable, and its another small business in Allentown, a neighborhood which is reinventing itself. Gotta love small local business!

Great atmosphere, good menu, excellent teas, and fantastic breakfast sandwiches. Very helpful and friendly barista explained some of the menu items to me for my first visit. They serve Zekes coffee and it’s very good. I will be back many times, best coffee shop in the area.

I work around the corner from this coffee shop and love the vibe of this place and the friendliness of not only the shop owners, but the other customers. A non-chain coffee shop is a breath of fresh air and just what Allentown needed in the burgeoning business district. I love their commitment to offering locally sourced products like Zeke’s coffee and ThreeFifty baked goods(seriously good stuff) and their enthusiasm for the Allentown neighborhood. While I typically get their house blend, I have splurged on some specialty drinks and everything is really delicious. It’s typically busy, but not too crowded if you want a table to relax, chat with a friend, or even work and there is free wi-if. I look forward to Black Forge Coffeehouse being a staple in Allentown for a long time!

Awesome coffee shop! My cousin introduced me to this place right after it first opened. The coffee and baked goods are fresh and delicious. The artwork here is trendy and unique. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the Allentown/Mt Washington area. It is definitely a hidden gem. This place has it all, great coffee, great treats, and a great atmosphere. This coffee shop gets its coffee and pastries locally. They often have live music or comedy. Definitely check it out!

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and have never had a place within short walking distance that I can grab a cup of coffee and hang out on the weekends. So grateful that Black Forge has changed that! And it’s not just any place to grab coffee. Its atmosphere and food/beverage offerings are amazing. I usually sweeten my tea, but the Summer on Ice was perfectly sweet and flavorful by itself. My husband is a certified coffee snob and he can vouch for me that the coffee is top notch. Last weekend we tried some of the pastries, as well. I had family in town visiting and they totally regretted just splitting one of the almond scones, and my uncle just mentioned how much he enjoyed our stop there. I’m excited to check out their concerts and entertainment options, as well, and the community bulletin board provides information about other great things happening in the community. If you live nearby, or even if you don’t, it’s well worth checking out!

This place is great. Located in the heart of Allentown next to the police station. They are serving up awesome espresso from Zeke’s and everything is local. If you get a chance, stop in for a coffee. BFC is amazing.

The world is run on small business and Arlington Ave is becoming a small business empire. Black Forge Coffee is run by Nick and Ashley and has home grown written all over it making a nice addition to the area. Located next to the police station, BFC is a caffeine lovers dream. They have a killer cold coffee that will keep you up till 4AM and pastries and baked goods like the caramel salted brownies that pair up perfectly. They also built a stage in the front of the shop for potential performances, poetry and open mic nights. They have great prices, a cool crowd and a central safe location. If you need a pick me up or just even a little social banter, BLACKFORGECOFFEE looks to fill a much needed void this side of town.
