J Crew

J Crew is a hit or miss store. I actually prefer to shop in the store than online. Their size charts are not always accurate but when you visit a store they have a fitting room. They also have a personal shopper if you are indeed looking for special clothes.
They can be affordable during sales however, you risk losing either your color selection or size selection or both. Recently I stopped in here for Black Friday to find out what was their «hidden» secret if I went inside. The secret was 50% off the clearance racks. Naturally what do I find there? Stuff I had previously purchased! Again the only grace was they didn’t have my size.
The staff is friendly and helpful. If you find something you are looking for but they don’t have your size or color then they will call their online department and let you speak to them. Shipping is free in this instance and you usually get your merchandise within a week. If you are unhappy with it then you can return it by mail or my preference is to the store for credit.
They carry clothes for both men and women. Be sure to read the labels because much of their clothes are not machine washable. Another thing to note is that they do carry some high ended merchandise which may not be available at the local store. Woolrich is one of them and I used to love that brand but not at the prices they are asking for it.
Please note that all J Crew stores are the same. Some have a better selection than others but everything noted above still applies.

For being located at the nicest mall in the Pittsburgh area, this J Crew is very tiny. The selection is very limited, and it’s too bad that such a large section of the store is taken up by Crewcuts. If shopping for women’s apparel, I recommend checking out the Shadyside location, which has a larger selection!
