WARNING!!! For anyone looking to refinish hardwood, lay new flooring or carpet, or any other construction work. Stay far away from PERFECTFLOORING in Squirrel Hill. I don’t even want to give them one star. The two men who own the company Chico and Shai are crooks. They conned me into believing they do professional work, but they subcontract out to immigrants(documented and undocumented) that do horrible work and work them on many jobs at one time for long hours. They treat their workers horribly and their customers even worse. They caused about $ 5000 damage to my home also and conned the finance company to release $ 15000 without my consent or work done. To add to my problems, they had me staying at Hotel Indigo for a week and never paid me for the inconvenience as promised. I am new to the city in Heberton but I do not want anyone making the same mistake as I did. Call me if you want to see for yourself. 814−233−4635 To add insult to injury, they will not reimburse me $ 2000 for having me and my renter stay in a hotel for a week. Please do not use Perfect Flooring which used to be Pittsburgh Flooring for any work. They had to change their name a few years ago due to similar issues.

Chico came out to my house to give a free estimate. Spoke fast but seemed like he knew what he was talking about so that with the positive reviews I saw online, I thought he would be a good person to hire for my flooring project. I couldn’t have been any more wrong. As other reviews out there indicate, Chico hires subcontractors to do the work but the thing is, he is terrible with scheduling and communication. The first subcontractor was unable to come to my house as promised the first Saturday. The next 2 subcontractors Chico sent out were unable to do the job, threw their hands up and said they couldn’t finish the job because they«aren’t laminate specialists.» That was a waste of a day off from work. The next person Chico sent out to my house was a 20 something year old who had no idea how to do the job and even said himself«I don’t know why he sent me, I don’t do floors, I’m a philosophy student!» Another waste of time. After that, Chico promised that his seasoned contractor would come out to do the job but when it came down to the day that we set the appointment, he made the«expert» go on another job even though the sub explained that it wasn’t right for Chico to do that since we had made an appointment and I scheduled to take off work AGAIN. After that point, I was done with Perfect Flooring Pittsburgh. Chico said that he would refund my deposit the next day but it ended up taking almost 2 weeks and who knows how many calls before I finally received my money. Chico makes promises that he doesn’t keep, says he will call you back within the hour which never happens. I made the mistake of taking a casual look for reviews and it was after I gave him the deposit that I found negative reviews of him/his business on the Better Business Bureau(BBB), on Unilocal and 5 pages of civil complaints on the PA Docket system. Steer away unless you want to be inconvenienced over and over. Don’t be fooled by the trucks you see going around, the ads in the papers or the cheesy mugs that he gives away. Do your research. You’ve been warned.

I would rate no stars if possible. Horrible workmanship and quality. We met Chico Kadosh through a friend. Chico promised beautiful work and really had us impressed… at first. We should have ran away screaming when he did work for my in-laws(it took him 2 months to redo floors, talk about crap) but it was too late because we already put ½ the money down. It took him too long to deliver flooring(this was for a second home) and he always had an excuse and ALWAYS was asking for more money. Apparently, he uses the money you provide him for other people’s jobs and won’t finish yours until he gets more money. Because this was a vacation home we were unable to keep constant watch over his incompetent workers. He sent the wrong carpet and they installed it, the grout work and tile work looked likea 4 year old completed, tiles were terribly cut, and the carpet was bubbling ALL over. When my husband called to complain, Chico was«out of the country». When we called the one worker, Mark, he said he was never paid(meanwhileWE paid him! Directly!) and refused to fix his terrible and shoddy work. Save yourself, stress, money and Anger, find someone else to do the work! Also, he changed the company name, I believe it used be to called Pittsburgh Flooring… Sounds fishy to me.

Rebecca, the saleswoman, was attentive and punctual, working her schedule around ours to visit and show us the samples. We received 3 quotes for our kitchen floor, and they agreed to beat the lowest quote. Rebecca stopped by last sunday with the final contract and told us her crew(Yuris and Chris) could come by same day and complete the job. The arrived at 3, moved the appliances. stripped the previously-glued floating floor, laid the new floor and finished everything except for one tiny piece, staying until 10pm. The following day, Yuris put the final piece in, and their junk crew cleared everything out before noon. The price was fair. The the floor looks great. I’m very happy with the job overall, and would recommend these guys to anyone.

Save yourself the stress and choose a different company. Chico Kadosh will offer what seems to be a great deal, then once you’ve signed the contract, he’ll provide extremely low quality work, which he will refuse to repair. There will be gaps of days or weeks when no work will be done at all, with no communication from the company. To add insult to injury, after the job was«finished» I was given an invoice for a balance that was several hundred dollars more than what we’d agreed to in the contract. I would have given zero stars, but it’s not an option on Unilocal. It’s worth it to pay a little extra to get truly professional work.
