Vera Bradley

Worst customer service experience ever. I came in looking for a specific accessory (purse strap) for a clutch wallet someone had given me as a gift. Was ignored by the woman on the sales floor and both women behind the counter until I walked up to the register and said «Excuse me, I’m looking for something». The store wasn’t busy either. One family was in there looking at large bags. The woman at the register told me that Vera Bradley doesn’t sell purse straps, but they have lanyards that «have many uses» and left me at the accessories table trying to figure out how to attach a lanyard to the wallet. I actually had to leave the store to Google «Vera Bradley keyturn wallet lanyard» to figure out how to use a lanyard to make a purse strap or wrist strap from a Vera Bradley online forum. Apparently, staff at other stores are actually helpful and show things to their customers. The only reason I didn’t leave was because I drove to Ross Park Mall just to buy this purse strap/​lanyard and I didn’t want to pay extra for online shipping. I’ll never go back.

Apparently they must have forgotten that there is a 2^nd store at South Hills Village which was where I tried to check in. So I stopped in here to do a credit. Currently they have a 40% end of season sale. Prices are still sky high but depending upon what you are looking for you can get away with something reasonable in a discontinued pattern.
The people at the Village store were much more helpful than the ones here. I have some of their pieces which can be durable. You can also order online if you wish but there is a certain spend for free shipping.
Small items are usually your best bet although my family purchased me a small weekender bag for my birthday last year. I found it very helpful to put in the overhead compartment when I travel. The sell purses, backpacks, wallets, throw blankets to name a few. They have now come out with solid colored items if you prefer not to invest in a particular pattern.
This store did have all the markdown items laid out nicely but there really wasn’t anything of particular interest I really needed at the time. So go when they have a sale. You can still credit it within a certain time frame of your purchase if the item is not suitable to your needs.

Holy confusing Batman! I mean, why send a guy to do a girl’s job?
Walking in here I was a bit confused. Me not using a purse, sent in here to retrieve an item as a gift and all I saw was what looked like pot holders sewn together. All the items looked the same to me, so much so that I had to use my lifeline of call a friend to guide me through this store.
Yoi! The prices kind of floored me too. I was flabbergasted as to the amount they wanted for the small item you got.
As far as staff interactions, I was basically ignored until I reached the register. I mean, if you see a guy in here, you know he isn’t shopping for himself. Give a guy a hand, please! At the register I was greeted nicely, I expect that this is because they saw I was purchasing something and were happy I was spending my money there.
