Looks like an old tavern for the outside, but the Ruben is worth the stop. Friendly staff and good food. Going back to try the cheese burger.

The Elbow Room is definitely a throwback kind of place, so expect 70s feel and the atmosphere of a local bar but don’t let that throw you off the Reubens are wonderful and the pastrami is really good and I love good pastrami. Drinks are well poured and service is very friendly even if you feel you are walking into a time warp and you aren’t the local at the bar. If you are in the mood for a really good sandwich, this is the place to stop.

The huge banner outside makes the bold claim that this place has some of the best hot wings around town, and I think the banner is telling the truth. Not only are the wings tasty, but there are also excellent nachos and potato skins AND a whole slew of seafood fried to perfection. There’s a special on fish and chips every Friday and it is SO good. And the drinks are so cheap!(But maybe that’s just because I’m a city girl now and I’m used to paying $ 10 for a cosmo – at Elbow Room it’s more like $ 5). I like sitting downstairs in the back near the little flowing water indoor garden thing.(‘Cause one likes to get her Zen on while eating nachos and watching the locals play Keno.)
